Flim, i would like to know what your progress on the "Collective kit" is if possible, i love your seats, but too expensive to ship to Australia it seems.

One key press, two different commands simultaneously, possible?

Try VAC ? -
As a reference if the 7.62mm standard rimless Nato rounds used by the mini guns have been modeled correctly the tracer burnout is aprox 1100 meters, that doesnt mean the rounds are not effective over that range, it just means that it is hard to see their fall of shot, the max range this round is capable to being used at is about 2000 meters in the Sustained Fire Machine Gun (SFMG) role, the gun is mounted on a tripod and uses a C2 sight or something similar depending on the army. This classifies the gun in this role as a HMG.

As most who have posted here have found out that the Huey is vulnerable to effective ground fire which is most definitely the case. From the Australian perspective "Huey's" were never intended as gun ships, mainly used in the fire support role they were intentionally named "Light Fire Teams" LFT's, usually providing fire support for Infantry operations , air insertions and Slick protection, they aren't gunships in the sense of todays attack helicopters. Reference this link as an example : http://www.navy.gov.au/history/squadron-histories/ran-detachment-9-squadron-vietnam-history The US also used Cobra's as LFT's teams reference here as an example : http://361awc.com/About_Us.html Most probably the first used term of "Gunships' was used by these guys : http://www.theaviationzone.com/factsheets/gunships.asp

[DCSW: Mi-8MTV2] English Cockpit Mod
Strut replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Same here Skull, i dont have any problems with Devrims cockpits, it sounds very strange, anyway good luck. -
Im getting down to about 25+ fps around built up airports and large towns apart from that probably fluctuations anywhere from usually stable 50ish+ fps to over 100. I use Devrims Cockpit mod, Highways Terrain mod, PeterP's HDR and SweetFx and Mustangs Clouds, More Visibility Mod , Neck views and some other skins and mission mods. When a new patch comes out, i remove my mods, do the update and then i save the old DCS folder in its same location as, for example "DCS25oct13" which in Windows 7 is located @ :C/ Users/ "Name"/ saved Games/ DCS/ After i have saved the old re-named "DCS" folder in its same location, i do full repair. which makes a new DCS folder, and then i replace my old config file from the old DCS folder into the new one, this has all my settings. And replace my mods using JSGME. If the patch is a large game download i will usually do a full re-install. I fully recommend using JSGME as a mod manager and u will have less hassles. I agree the frame rates are getting low , but they can be manageable, most of my settings are set on high , i even have the "More Visabilty " mod set to extreme. But Mirrors are off, Traffic is off and water is on low. Other setting you need to play with as per your likes and dislikes.

A great little video on a reasonably unknown unit that flew extraordinary missions and a brave gutsy pilot, look at how young he was. Great stuff. http://www.youtube.com/embed/ie3SrjLlcUY

Using the TM Warthog Hotas with the Mustang
Strut replied to bilbosmeggins's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Once again Wyo, you have demonstrated the obvious. Your rants are irrational and dont bring any sense whatsoever to the table. Your irritation at the subject you brought up is open to debate, and what i said seems to be born out every time you type in this thread. As for you military service, if it is true, i congratulate you and have the utmost respect for the USMC. I am also ex military and served my country in a number of operational theaters and in one particular war along side the USMC and US Army. But one thing i dont hold too is having someone intimate a veiled threat, so some advice mate, whether your written expression is meant to be as you have put it or not, if your gonna try and piss over the wall, just make sure you know how high it is before you try, because it might come down on you. And if your little rant is a troll on our forum then i suggest that you hunt elsewhere. Or if in the doubtful instance that our comprehension of your written word we find that you are misunderstood, then i suggest you tone down your written style and try and come at it from a different angle, all i see are people trying to help you. -

Using the TM Warthog Hotas with the Mustang
Strut replied to bilbosmeggins's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
I fly every DCS sim on the TMWH, i have no difficulties adjusting to each Aircraft i fly, from the A10 to the MI-8, i dont have a collective but the throttle maps well to emulate a collective. the THMW has proven to be versatile and a solid HOTAS that does nearly everything i ask it to do, i am not an employee of Thrustmaster. I am no programmer or tech wizkid, but ever since my first day when i started flying sims i have always found an answer in this forum and people willling to help solve problems. I have even written a few configs for some of the various aircraft as well. For just a few moments searching on the forums you will generally get a fix / answer to 99% of the "joys of simming", as you no doubt have found out at this level of sim, such as DCS etc its not a video game or fast play buy it and play video game. Maybe for those that are too challenged or are unable to 'fit into the groove' then this is not for you. As for peripherals such as HOTAS etc etc you will never get a 100% 'fit to type' unless you have a well heeled wallet. So hence we here in 'Sim land" do stuff to make it work. Thats part of the deal. If you want to keep it simple then maybe this is not for you. Heres a past thread I started as well with my profile i made : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=88313 -

Bkrull, u can reverse the throttle and rudder setting in options / controls / Axis commands / Axis tune / invert, and yes install all the profiles -
Congrats Belsimtek, i like the flight model and its unique feel flying it, i flew in Indian MI-17's in Sudan a few years ago, and also some Russian Crewed MI-17's, and the sim certainly has the feel of them. Once again well done on a great sim, i am looking forward to seeing both the Huey and MI-8 out of Beta.
