 ...so you`re the one.

Just don`t flare to much... :) This big`ol tail on a Flanker will scrape the runway. Rate of descent and AOA for me. It`s easier in a 33 since it has a AOA indexer. As far as ILS (land or boat) goes... I prefer using needles on the HSI, not the ADI... or some circles;) . Supposedly circles are easier - not for me. Perhaps, because I`m trying to fly USN`s (case1) patters in weather or at night and the circles are telling me to start my approaches at all the wrong distances and altitudes:huh: .

When the pilot trims the Hornet for T/O (hits the button) the rudders are toed in. Hornets are nose heavy during the T/O roll due to the fact that the outboard part of the wing is pointed down. The wing is like this to give the Hornet more controll at high AOA. The tradeoff... huge speedbrake.

I don`t think the raptor`s target will get any spike on his/hers:) RWR until the "shooter" raptor is well within no escape range (if the shooter was using his radar to find targets and the big "22":megalol: showed up on targets RWR... - although raptor`s radar is another story!... heck, I wish I knew more) Anyways, the sequence of events for the shooter will be quick: from D/L to radar on with target aquired... fox3... end of story That`s right TucsonSonny... even without the burners:megalol:

Lot`s of cheating on RAF... It amazes me sometimes... How the hell do they do that?... As far as 169th server, everytime I joined in HL their server was empty.

How many people here fly the Su25t?
Gripes replied to Mizzy's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I fly it on occasions. No other Lockon a/c comes close to it as far as A/G is concerned... I just love to snipe out these EWRs and then... jump in an Eagle. (No D/L for the other side :joystick: ) It`s not that bad, once you`re off the ground... I remember reading in some other thread or forum - RL "bus driver" :) compared flying a frog to a lightly loaded 727... hehe, I don`t know about that ... -
LOL, you guys crack me up. I don`t mind reading about all these different views and opinions, as long as the discussion is civil and it doesn`t take a de-tour from the subject too far... It`s entertaining and educational (in a way:doh: )... at least for me.

Those Su-27 mysterious switches
Gripes replied to Karagiozi's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
You guys mean NATOPS... Well, I`ve seen couple of`em laying around... Oh crap, few pages are missing:noexpression: Thesystem, are you saying that your pages in your "NAVAIRs" are not missing? -
I`ve seen him in HL on occasions... Not bad for being stoned. If pot gives him an edge... by all means he should keep smoking:thumbup:

Missile slider and 'realism', what do you think?
Gripes replied to JEFX's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Also, on top of the modeling problems we have the network lag and people doing all kinds of things to induce lag in order to spoof missiles in MP. PrtSc comes to mind and God knows what else... I`m not that good in "lag ECM". I`ve watched my target box jump up and down as soon I launched a missile... -
Now, finally something my thick scull can absorb:)

Naaa, these VX-9 Turkeys didn`t land on cariers. They just did some beta testing for the Navy:pilotfly:
-
I`d better check my ".lua`s" then! I was on S77th server few days ago and when I RTB`d (after letting some slammers loose) my pitch ladder got pegged to the side of my HUD and some strong winds were pushing me toward Turkey.

Cool pics. Very James Bondish kind of place.

After 29 pages, "Aha, I had no idea..." sums it up for me... jk:) Now I`m motivated, on a quest to learn about the real ET.
-
Since you put it this way - I kinda agree. The only 2 times I`ve been hit by ETs, I was straight and level, smoking a cigar on my way home, so to me it was a simple sneakup attack and flying a single-ship w/o any DL or real:icon_excl AWACS support... Anyways, it`s good to know about these quirks. Thanks Pilotasso and others (that have enough time available for testing) for sharing your findings.

I did get couple of HOJ kills on 504 server, few day ago. A rare and religious experience... so, I have to share it! I was at 43k feet, Mach1 in a lofting pitch up (not that it matters) and I pickled 2 slammers HOJ at a group of SU27s (they had their radars on - giving me a pretty good range "feeler") from R-aero (or so I thought;)) and... both of the shots connected. I was stunned! One of the Flankers turned its jammer off momentarily but it seems like the missile re-aquired him or never lost him. Must have been a glitch in the code, hehe.
-
You got a ride in a back seat or were you a PIC? In any case, it would be nice to link up in HL and do some serious and organized Eagle flying.
-
I noticed this problem today. I thought I was picking up some other targets. I was wrong - The "new" contacts were my old bugged targets that dropped out of my radar cone. I feel exactly as Rhen. I`m still hanging in to the Eagle.
-
Yes, it started about 3-4 months ago. Nothing changed on my computer. Well, I have a different router (ports forwarded). Quitting a single player session has never been a problem. In MP - only VVS504 "let`s me out" easy. On most others I have to close lockon.exe manually. Not a big problem, got used to it already:)
-
I have a slightly different form of a quitting bug (pre-1.11) but this one has to be related to server setup. When I click on exit button after checking the mission log, it freezes and I have to ctl-alt-del to get back to HL. The only server (just about) that is an exception to this is VVS504. Never had any problems on that server.
