  1. I have no speed, the page/upload keeps loading, tried to wait maximum time ( around 13 min for a 5 Mb .rar archive ... ) then another page load with a part of DCS homepage in a small rectangle ... quite weird actually EDIT : After a fifth attempt, it surprisingly worked ! Thanks though, now it's waiting for mod to accept it Cheers
  2. Hello everyone, could please someone tell me how to do that ? I go to DCS website, user files then upload, fill everything properly, attach one image and the .rar archive of +/- 5Mb then click upload and the loading takes forever and is stuck at 0% What am I doing wrong ? Thanks !
  3. Wow this is the first time I hear about it, didn't know there was another one in the works ! First, hats off Fragger for your high quality work you put into DCS, I'm sure the whole rotorheads community is very happy to that flow of helis, including yours and also the Gazelle, among our two Belsimtek marvels out there. I just wanted to make the remark that the twist of the main blade should be the opposite way ( http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=85014&d=1374330568 ) , going from a higher pitch to a lower in the blade tip, like any blades, either propeller or rotor system or even turbine fan The tail blades got a slight twist also to maximize their efficiency in the " most used " direction Looking forward to it, Cheers ! Hueyman
  4. I must add, regarding the Mi-8 beta campaign that will come in 1.2.7 : if the re-arming/refueling system do not work correctly, it will create a lot of frustration as some missions really require at least re-arming;, and if it works 3 times on 10 ...
  5. Yeah but they are more EOB ! Expensive Open Betas ... I don't think the Hawk is 50$ isn't it ? Cheers
  6. Yes I forgot those, of course, and they are probably the most important ones ! A lot of work still ahead ... But I'm sure they are working on it, we even saw some miniguns now for door gunners , so the update they mean is surely not 1.2.7 or at least that initial change log
  7. " Corrected missions " for Huey ? Is it what BST described as a " big update at the end of this month ? " *** I'm not an Mi-8 expert, but honestly I think it's in a very good state for first Beta version, everything is quality... I only see main rotorhead and tail rotor mechanism animation absolutely absent ( cyclic/collective/lead-lag/flap movements and tail rotor blade pitch movements ), while the blades flex is well made already .... And the fan of course ! But the Huey got much more things to be fixed ... Correct start up/shutdown procedure Ergonomic way to sling load ( I've heard it's up to ED ? ) Rotor visual accuracy ( mast orientation, less visual collective blade pitch etc... ) I see significant loss in heli perfs since 1.2.6, I have hard times reaching 110 IAS at sea level, fully loaded with rockets and only 3/4 fuel... I'm not in High mountains with low DA... EB-1 told they re-rigged the mechanical correlation between collective stick movements and actual swashplate pitch change to give the feeling of less power... this should have been toned down too much, what thinks real UH-1 pilots ?
  8. Thanks for answers guys. After watching a lot of other pilots online or on YT videos, ( even IRL footage ), yes, I was definitely too close I admit ! But, let's take it the reverse way. In a realistic infantry simulation ( ArmA series ), I always have hard time hitting fast movers with more than one or two bullets of 5.56mm for example, on a burst of 30 So it's a bit harassing to RTB just because your right MFCD is out of service, because one dude fired 5 AK-47 bullets and hit 3 of them right in my avionic bay ... That's life , maybe this would need to be tuned down in next updates, or I'll simply have to stick with it and fire from further Thanks for feedback
  9. Yes, I'm fresh out of the training missions , and did my first combat missions those last days ... How many times I had to come home for repair, because I was hit bit little arms ( even infantry 7.62 mm ... ) When one of your MFCD is out, you can say bye to the mission until it's repaired again ! In the manual and everywhere, it has the reputation to be really solid, well armored etc etc, with it's titanium bathtub ... But now I have doubts, or I mis-did something
  10. I'm not so sure When you see a model textured, it always look much smoother and detailed, but untextured in a 3D software it's often low poly ( and quasi obligatory for flight sim use ) Personally, I think it is modeled with the same standard as all DCS models ... I mean, even the Blackshark or the A-10C are still state of the art products, the bar was pushed so high years ago that we do not see their ages ... and latest releases can't be better as it's the best achivebale with nowadays hardware. I think next steps in graphics will be when all mechanical parts will be modelled in 3D instead of using textures to mimic... like bolts thread, wire locked nuts etc etc ... But we aren't far from perfection, isn't it ?
  11. For sure, Accusim made a masterpiece with their B-17G But it is FSX, and the Fortress is a war machine... nowadays, it has its place here, in DCS World, or in other high end combat flight sim ( and it is the only one I know yet ... )
  12. Glad you laughed ;-) ... Two things - The day human will stop dreaming, we can say bye bye to technological progress - I didn't meant ( sorry if it was interpreted like that ) each crewmen being a human player. But at least a pilot and a bomber per ship ... Then through updated things could improve significantly... Luthier is a huge dreamer to ask so much money for a future project, but I'm convinced it's a nice way to dream, and that this dream will come true in the years to come ... And yeah, I play Lock On since 2003, and DCS since Black Shark Cheers
  13. And I'd LOVE to see a B-17F ... After the P-51D we have now, the Spit and the One 'O Nine ya know ... no need to make all WWII planes, we first need to fill the blank areas ... and fighters are fun to fly... but blowing everything up in a 25 ships formation from 35 000 Ft with a complex four engined aluminum marvel, filled with 10 guys, and many mechanical systems to watch for ( turbos etc ... ) is really exciting, In my opinion... Starting in the dirty and muddy countryside airfields in England, and doing long missions over France and Northern Germany ... :smartass:
  14. Ok thanks !
  15. Please, could anyone answer me ?
  16. I contacted Luthier via mail and Kickstarter, no answer for two weeks, is that normal ?
  17. +1, excellent ! Wish that happen ASAP
  18. To be honest, I do not know what they are doing for so long with that Map ... I really hope it will be worth the wait but I start not to expect to much, as even nowadays screens tells " early state " ... Anyway, a motivated teams could do marvels on a Vietnam map, even if the 1.0 is not the definitive release.
  19. I agree with all of you dudes, honestly but do you realize in each of your post you ask for more than a dozen of new aircrafts, while each module take several years to be done ?... If we want all Vietnam aircrafts ( and everyone doesn't want that obviously ... ) we can expect them to be hear in 15-20 years if DCS still exist, while if we got a map in the next year, we'll at least be able to play with the Huey, Mi-8 and Mig 21, which is great and as you stated we have F4 and F5 as AI... nowadays Mustang Pilots are dog fighting against the AI 190 in order this one become really a " true " DCS model, if you see what I mean We aren't 10 billions, the market is kinda small after all ... so I think we really should make compromise between " wait for all Vietnam planes to come and do nothing until " or, " having only a couple of Vietnam era planes but getting a nice battlefield to fly other and do some serious historical campaign " ... With what we have now ( Huey ) and a good Vietnam Map, it would already be possible to make some insanely fun pilot campaign, from beginning of the conflict until the end : For example, you start as a rookie pilot at Fort Rucker ( replaced by Nevada Map ... ) where you learn helicopter flight basics, combat maneuvers, tactical flight etc, at the beginning of the Huey legend ( starting with the HU-1A, see below, of course UH-1H in the game... we won't make a dedicated HU-1A just for that ) then being sent to south east Asia in wet jungles with the UH-1H doing the type of mission everyone know ( dust off, medevacs, infantry support etc ), until the fall of Saigon in April 1975, where we could perform evacuation of people from Saigon to the ships, etc etc ... I know it would be much better with appropriate Phantoms, Thunderchiefs, Skyraiders, Cayuses, Chinooks and such ... but is it better to wait years and years to hope for it or to have a map quickly, within a year, then do our best to have fun ? even the P-51 could be fitted in this War, as it served in Korea... Think about it twice before voting NO and preferring to always have the same planes over the same Georgia
  20. We can at least express what we LIKE, and it is up to them to do what they WANT then. I posted this in the BST forum, but did not meant them to do the job, I also want they stick to helicopters ( but it sounds their next module is the F-86 ? ) but it was more addressed to general devs, who some of us are, to seriously ( or nor if you voted no ) think about this area
  21. Yes dudes, a Vietnam hardcore flight sim is one of my strongest wish for so many years ... before, it was having a Huey, then this dream came true thanks to Belsimtek geniuses ! And now, if we could have a gigantic and detailed Vietnam map AND environments, ground units, ambiance, weather etc etc... that would be such a blast Sadly, when I see how long a desert map takes to see the light, I'm afraid Vietnam would never ever be released. I do not know the max possible scale of a map in the EDGE engine, but a " fictional map ", taking main locations such Khe Sahn, Da Nang, Chu Lai, Haiphong, Plei Ku, Nha Trang, Huê, Hanoï etc etc ... would be very realistic, even in the small size of the current Caucasus gulf It would need to alternate between typical Vietnamese urban locations with the citadels, monuments etc, and rice paddies, dense jungle, plateau, mountainous regions, valleys etc. As well as a couple of airfields of course and the nearby see for naval ops. We have the Huey, the Mi-8 ( which was used a bit by Charlie ), soon the Mig 21... if only we could have another chopper ( OH-6 or Cobra or UH-34 ), and one or two planes ( F4 Phantom of course and let's say a Skyraider to be versatile ), simulated at a DCS level, with a dedicated team working hard on the map, art assets, ground units, infantry etc of both sides, it would be truly ground breaking. If EDGE is as flexible as it claims to be, I can't wait the SDK is released for us, the community, can start putting hands into grease ... When I see that, I just do not want to return in our 10 years old Caucasus ... As you can see, Vietnam has its own philosophy, mainly built on humid and hazy atmosphere, when it's not hot and sunny We should organize, make it the professional way, ask good persons and eventually put ourselves into the gears, to make such project born. What do you think guys ?
  22. I would like they bring all needed fixes/improvements right on time for Christmas ...
  23. Thanks for your quick help guys ! Cibit it was that ! I used module manager ( first time I ever use it ) and it works like a charm, thanks guys ;-)
  24. Yes, just updated with autoupdater and now the Mi-8 is broken while other modules works ... I mean, when I start a flight with it, I can't be in the cockpit, it's an AI chopper and I'm spectator ! also, none of the key controls works, all is ***** up... Went to DCS.com to see if the module update was out but not ... What am I supposed to do ? Thanks
  25. +1 man, that sentence is probably the more plausible and realistic one I heard during this day ! Future is theorically the time that happens between right now and + infinite, so yes you are so true, there are so many chances we can see a Sea Hawk in the future, as well as a flying chicken, a Cessna 152 or a batmobile in DCS, who knows where and when this fabulous sim will end :megalol:
