  1. I cannot even imagine what it would be... I would lock me down to my bedroom and play it until I'm blind ... I'm dreaming of such flight sim in Vietnam Era as long as I'm in love with the Huey, since I'm 7...
  2. Hello TooTall ! Thank you so very much for your mission, I still don't understand why I didn't try this earlier... This fills most of the empty areas I missed on this sim, and I just love crossing the country to offer my services to the grunts ahah ! If only this could be in a Vietnam map ... The only downside I could say is : would be nice to have a campaign with evolution and a kind of " story " and feedback from the HQ etc, like the main UN campaign, adding a kind of realism into the whole thing, cause I have the feeling to transport lines of .lua code from point A to point B, some music, dialogs and " life " would be much appreciated. And now we have sling load ability, you know what is left to be done ahah ! Seriously, I think you could even make some payware 3rd party campaigns or mission packs, as DCS Huey really lack some complex and long campaigns, and you seems to have really skills in it Have a nice day and thanks again for what you're doing, hope to see more ! Hueyman
  3. Just want to point out the current Mi-8 is the very first DCS module that don't deliver proper rotorhead ( ailerons, elevator, flaps and rudder equivalents, for those who say it's not important ... ) animations. The Kamov did since the first release, as well as the Huey. They mentioned it on the M-8 product page : " The main rotor assembly is fully animated and correctly translates movement of the cyclic and collective controls to the rotor system, making it possible to visually see rotor disc tilting, conning, and blade pitching " So ok, I see they speak about the rotating disc coning/tilting, but pitch change, swashplate movements and tail rotor pitch change is also part of the rotary wing spirit, so I really hope it's on top on their to do list for next Mi-8 update.
  4. The PC-6 is my favorite plane, after the B-17
  5. Yeah I have to agree
  6. Would really love a Hercule too... I already love the updated 3D model, very nicely done. Hope DCS will also take this direction in the future, war is not just a fighters/CAS planes affair
  7. Voted for the F/A-18 of course, such a efficient beast ! But would love one heavy for the future... C-130,Antonovs... any heavy turboprops, old " 70's " era would be nice for people who aren't especially in air superiority or CAS planes
  8. So following that, ne need for a Su-25T after the old Su-25, no need a DCS A-10Ca after the Lock On basic A-10, then a FC3 A-10A ( so three variants of the same model ) Guys are also working a new version of the F-15 etc etc ... If you're into the Huey thing as some are in their F-15 Eagle etc , you would easily agree for any other variants of the Huey, and the Bravo model is the closest
  9. Yeah but IMHO the main problem in the DCS community is the too much diverse opinion. The other day online there was a guy being rude because I was happy about the idea of a C130 DCS module for example. This dude called me a bus driver and that I did not understand a slight thing about air war. But that kind of behavior is logical, in a way DCS brings many wonders, but wonders that have NOTHING IN COMMON Su-25T : 1980 A-10C : 2006 P-51 : 1942 Huey : 1960 Mi-8 : 1961 Next ? P-47,BF-109,Me 262 etc at least are in the same time frame and will have dedicated environment etc But next is also MiG 21 : 1955 F-18 : 1980 AH-1G : 1967 F-86 : 1947 Okay, don't have to be a genius to say there is absolutely no logic between all those airframes, this generating all the divergent opinions we can find on the forums and online. The great thing is : ED and 3rd parties don't care at all what we think, so at least they're not biased by our wishes and do that they want, DCS is, and has always been a sharp and accurate sim, merging all eras... in the same old Caucasus for now. Kinda strange but you love it or you don't, it's high quality products we have
  10. Of course I'm for any other variants of the Huey, and any helicopters in general. Would love a Bravo or Charlie Gunship model, but that would only make sense if a Vietnam map is developed some day, then it will become interesting with UH-1H,UH-1B/C, Mi-8, MiG 21, and ( planned ) A7 Corsair II... would only miss a F4 Phantom and maybe another one ( Chinook, F100 or Cayuse ) and it would be the dream for all Vietnam era enthusiast But as no one is on the same wavelength here, I doubt this will ever happen, we'll keep see coming aircrafts from totally different eras, which have nothing in common, and we'll keep debating why we have a Spitfire in the middle of Strelas lol ... Anyway, anything new is healthy I think, don't you ?
  11. Yes a real Huey gunshi^would be awesome, to leave the genuine slicks their own tasks, without more weapons than M60s ... But we can only speculate
  12. I would be so happy when RRG or anyone will make a B-17 ... My all time three favorite airframes are ( in this order ) Huey B-17 PC-6 A B-17F ( F as all simulations available to know only focuses about G model ) in the accurate and sharp DCS environment would be so so wonderful ...
  13. I'm unsure if I understood your question well but, Loc means Localizer, it gives you directional ( horizontal ) line of sight of for example an ILS And GS is Glide Slope, giving you the typical 3° slope also for ILS approaches. Basically, if you turn on the ILS system and set the correct frequency for an airport, you'll want to make your both needles ( GS and LOC ) form a perfect cross ( by flying your Huey around in the correct position ) That will mean you are correctly aiming at the field, and got the corresponding glide slope path to reach runway threshold. That is useful in very low visibility operations
  14. I don't understand why it takes so long to have a proper payload/loadouts/hardpoints/accessories management, best way would be in game, so we could remove the hardpoints, guns, IR sup etc etc as well as add them as much as we want, even if it has to take 160 sec like actual repairs on DCS aircrafts ...
  15. Yeah great one ! I just tried it today and got 60/60 at first, 6/100 at 2nd and 90/100 at third test ! I think I didn't understood well the 2nd ( with cardinal points ) as I did nice rock solid hovering and headed toward correct directions but... 6% is just catastrophic, maybe it's the fact didn't set my HSI on the compass before taking off ... But very nice mission dude, I wish there are more of those ! ;-)
  16. 100% with you dude ! That's funny cause I had the same Idea yesterday when beginning the end of Chickenhawk, then had a nice online flight with Huey In all DCS model, I assume the engine management is fine tuned to be as close to reality as possible ( KA-50, P-51 ... ) but this one seems to ignore real life mechanical constraints, you can apply full collective, as long as there is fuel in the tank,n you're good to go ... Please change that BST, Huey has been called " released " for 1.2.7, but obviously, missing these crucial parameters can't really push it in the DCS line product ... It's a challenging heli to fly ( I mean handle ) but way too easy to operate I think. Starting engine has improved since the addition of the idle release and twist grip stuff, but you still don't have to take care of oil temps etc. Seing a true T-53 simulation ( within reasonable limits of course ) would be a huge plus,

    F-86

I think we do need anything in fact that is made by heart with skilled developers that are in love with what they do, this being any aircraft ...
  18. Wow it's been busy here lately that's nice ;-)
  19. Very emotional, I think every Huey lover should watch this :cry_2: I wish this one could fly until the fall of humankind
  20. Just took a look at first page, nine years ago... It's unbelievable we are still on the same old map lol ! But the progresses are obviously huge in some aspects
  21. I have Logitech Z906 5.1,500 Watts sound system and I have to put it in 4.1 to get the best of it, I prefer to have sound from the back and sides than just on the front ( back level in 5.1 is so low you don't notice it )
  22. I'm wondering why Luthier do not answer any of my messages/mails
  23. Off topic but dunno why only the gunners are black, I want to see the right hand PiC black too !
  24. The EHS ( Exhausts Heat Suppressors ) should also be an option in the ME ( and in the in-game refueling/rearming window ) to add/remove this big things. The ability of changing keyboard inputs is really great ( while it should also work in MP ) but fully re-configure the ship while at FARP/Airport is also another very useful thing, that would let us spend more time on the field than in the DCS menus ... And that applies for Huey too. Can't the re-arm/refuel window couldn't take all aesthetic/options management into account ?
