But.... we love the carrot! :D

I think you may have posted in the wrong forums section. Anyway, here's what I think: While sea planes were thing up until WWII, they weren't exactly the most interesting/iconic or most capable planes. In more recent times looking at combat aircraft there were only a few seaplane projects (like the Sea Dart), none of those were ever used operationally AFAIK. All the cool sea planes are civil aircraft or only lightly armed ones, not too interesting for a combat simulator I guess. At least not enough to implement all the water physics stuff into DCSW.

negative.

Short version: The one with the AFM won't be able to land on a carrier (that's a DCSW thing that will be fixed by ED soon, I hope), but it feels better in the air and on solid ground because the AFM is a more accurate flight model.

Just out of curiosity, because I once had a nasty surprise when a graphics card didn't fit in my housing (it was longer than the board and collided with a hard disk frame, that sucked): When you compare measurements, are those new cards even bigger than two or three years ago (7XX, 9XX series)? So basically: If I replace a 770 with one of those, is that likely to still fit?

Has been posted a few times on these forums already. Thanks anyway! :) I've even downloaded all episodes on my PC in fear they might get taken down.

Kind of. That was back then though, compared to the F-16A.

Summery of Q&A Session with an A-10C pilot, asked by DCS players
Aginor replied to Raistlen007's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Yeah, it really would be. I'd pay a full module price to get a Suite 8 with all those goodies like new weapons and the HMCS. I crave it ever since Snoopy hinted at a few new features in some thread here. Not likely to happen, still... wow, that would be awesome. -

Wow, nice one! Thanks to everyone involved! -
I admit I also only heard of two of them. Beate Uhse and Hanna Reitsch https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanna_Reitsch

[Request]: Give us the ability to save settings to a "data cartrage"
Aginor replied to sabreman's topic in DCS Core Wish List
No problem, take your time. Btw: I know it is kinda impolite to make a joke out of a spelling error in a thread title, but cartRAGE is totally describing a possible attitude of some of us when we get the F/A-18C without a data cartridge so that's damn funny. :D Sorry @sabreman! :D :D -
Haha, I actually did that the first time I flew that mission! As for the weapons, I do the following: - Trucks at WP1: Guns - Infantry and Trucks at WP2: Rockets and Guns - Bridge at WP3: GBU-38 from 15,000ft, ignoring the AAA - Tanks at WP4: Kill the Strela with my second GBU-38, it can't reach you at 15,000ft Kill the Shilka with a GBU-12 Kill one tank with a GBU-12 Ask Wingman to kill the tanks with guided bombs (he usually kills 2) - Convoy at WP5: Either contact the JTAC to get them, or (actually most of the time) spot them myself. Attack with Mavericks, get the shilka first. - let the wingman mop up the rest with Mavericks. Really an easy mission, but fun for training, and IMO nice to keep some of your weapons skills up to date.

[Request]: Give us the ability to save settings to a "data cartrage"
Aginor replied to sabreman's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I am torn a bit between saying "YES PLEASE!" and "meh, ED should implement the data cartridge finally". So if you don't mind, go ahead! Maybe you'll even find some of the other stuff we talked about in that thread. Some files in DCSW have changed, perhaps we can do more than before now. Also congratulations to your 1000th post! :) -
3D platform for DCS? I hope these guys make it
Aginor replied to hansangb's topic in Virtual Reality
I admit that something like that sounds pretty awesome, at least in theory. The guys behind the project have also mentioned a few aspects in the FAQs that are interesting, so far most of the stuff I read sounds pretty reasonable. The price is a huge question though. Would you pay 10,000€ (or $ or whatever)? They said "affordable", and of cause that's pretty stretchable. Also for a Kickstarter to support I'd like to see something more from them, a tech demo / prototype of some sort. -
Welcome! Have fun with DCS! :)

nice!

Sorry, but..... MUAHAHAHAHAHA LOL The ground crew had a vodka or two too much. :D

GTX 1070 is awesome for DCS World 2.0
Aginor replied to Viperrm64's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Wow, 35-40 low over Las Vegas is really doubled compared to my performance now. Might really get that one... -
Soon: Emails to DCSW users containing advertisement for ginger pills and tea: "How to last twice as long" "NealWillis tried this with success" "You won't believe this" "Use this weird trick from experienced men to last longer" "Kuky solved his problems with this prescription-free pill" :D

ED SIMS SCREENSHOT AND VIDEO THREAD!!!! (NO USER MODS OR COMMENT)
Aginor replied to rekoal's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Wow, great shots, Snoopy, Vitormouraa and Texac! -
I also worked with 3D scanners and their data once (a mobile unit on a tripod used for buildings, and an airborne laser scanner for mapping terrain), and I was kinda underwhelmed by it because you had to do SO much work manually after the scan because those point clouds had quite some holes in them, and in the case of the terrain mapping some terrain features caused spikes and holes. That was nearly ten years ago though, so I guess results are a bit better now.

[Request]: Give us the ability to save settings to a "data cartrage"
Aginor replied to sabreman's topic in DCS Core Wish List
We asked for that several times since.... the A-10C beta I think. In at least one of the threads we even detailed what could be saved there, and how it could be managed. Nobody from ED ever reacted as far as I remember right now (would have to check that though), it is highly unlikely we will ever get such a thing. So yeah, +1 I guess. :(
