The only problem I would see with a 3rd party plugin to handle that would be MP. How could they handle someone having the plugin and some other player doesn't? Or do you mean it could depend just on the server in that case?
-
Not sure. I just read somewhere yesterday there were some issues. Anyway, regardless of it working or not this is something that should better be handled in a more official way. :)

Wags mentioned during one of his live streams that this is a possibility for the future, but not something close yet. EDIT: That being said: Yes, I'D like to have that, too. But compared to other stuff that is missing I'd say it is a tad lower in priority.

Good thread. As I am the guy who is known for talking about weather half of the time I have to chime in here as well: It would be nice to have proper weather simulation at all. As soon as we have that I fully agree: Importing real weather data just like in one of those civil flight sims with the "X" in the name would be really great to make missions more interesting, both in MP and SP. To some extent this is already possible by scripting, see this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=144855 But of course a built-in solution would be better. I'd like to see that one day. It is high in my personal list of things DCSW lacks most.

I see where you come from, and although I think that a proper ATC on par with the ones in other sims is not too complex to code, from an MP point of view I think I could agree, if there are no AI planes involved. But let me just give an example: If you do a MP mission that also contains AI planes, and they get stuck, and you can't give them permissions to takeoff and so on, that's really annoying. It happened to us during the - otherwise cool - Mudspike fly-in. And at that point it completely breaks immersion. And then of course SP. Mission and Campaign makers have to do a lot of work to make missions halfway realistic by bypassing a core game mechanic. I think that shouldn't be needed.

Hi ED and community. I'll just go ahead and put it bluntly. I am a bit concerned about the status of the ATC. Last year it looked like it was just around the corner, Wags talked about it in his live streams and it was said to be a major topic for 2015. To provide you with a bit of background: I basically stopped creating complex DCS missions in 2011 and one of the major reasons for that was that the AI in general, and the ATC specifically was so bad it urgently needed an overhaul. So I went here and created that thread (which even was stickied for a while) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=108313 Now, five years later, there are some small improvements, but still not more. There seems to be something being done on the WW2-side of the ATC, see this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=170183 But I can't help but wonder: Does that mean ED just started to look at the topic, or is it already progressed quite far and now it is only adjusted for the WW2 era? That would be good news! So ED, if you read this, please just drop us a note on that progress. Is there a chance 2.5 will feature a new, overhauled ATC to put it at least near the level of other sims, and of course make it better if possible? Or is there anything blocking that progress? Can we help you by providing you with sources or something? And what do you guys out there in the community think? Am I exaggerating? Do you think the ATC is fine and the fix (or improvement if you don't like calling it buggy) shouldn't have a high priority? From my point of view the ATC and AI are the most important improvements coding-wise, and one of the longest standing issues in DCSW. But of course that's my personal view. I'd like to hear yours as well.

Sounds good, but what about all the bombs? Will they get AFMs too?
-
Unfortunately that isn't worth much IMO, as long as the AI can still see and shoot through those trees. :(
-
I prefer #1 but could live with both. Perhaps #2 with a more background that is a bit more opaque would also look nice and still be OK to read.
-
Yes, but it does have some issues. The hose doesn't move for example. I use it anyway because it looks cool. :)

[TOOL] Cartridger: generate your own cartridge

nice! :) -
Exciting news, Pat! As for BeastyBaiter's question: I wonder about that, too.
-
I admit I checked it for the first time today, but yeah, I do like the update frequency, too!

I wonder why there wasn't a link to that facebook page posted. Did I miss something? Is it against some rule? If no, here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/TailoredRadials/ If it is: Please mods, don't just delete this post, tell me/us.

Hey guys! I thought I'd just drop this here, because I stumbled upon it when searching for helicopter weapons stuff. Parts of it may not be applicable to our Huey, and parts of it are already implemented, it may still be interesting for devs and fans of the Huey. I found the M6 subsystem and the M56 most interesting. http://incolor.inetnebr.com/iceman/uh1.htm

Crisp textures and nice details. I like it!
-
Good example for that: Field of view heavily impacts the sense of speed. On a monitor the field of view that feels natural to you is actually very different from real life. In the racing games community there are huge discussions about that topic. Racing games often choose a FOV that makes things "look fast".

Torpedos and mines would be great. I imagine flying ASW helis or planes could be fun then.
-
The C-101 has it, and it looks and sounds awesome. Really adds a lot to the immersion. IMO all planes should have it.
-
I don't mind the existing effects, but this sure sounds nice. Like in: REALLY nice, from a gameplay perspective! You know I am always the one saying "gameplay, gameplay, gameplay, then graphics" and this is a huge step in gameplay!

For one of the Indonesian launchers (the big round one) I think I have something, because that one was also used on the Cobra. No sweat, these are not demands. Just posting it here so I don't lose it: http://duotechservices.com/ah1-cobra-m147-rocket-management-system-rms

Cool! Such many variants is simply awesome! Soo... I take it you don't have sources (or time) left to do those ones as well? Not really necessary but they do look cool! :) http://www.mbb-bo105.de/pics/bo105_hs-7063.jpg http://aviadejavu.ru/Images6/AN/AN80-4/11-4.jpg http://s146.photobucket.com/user/brotchador/media/mbb195philippineairforce_zps021070cb.jpg.html EDIT: actually I think I even have some document on that one, it was used on some Vietnam-Era US helis too. Ok, and to get completely ridiculous: What about the NBC configuration? http://www.primeportal.net/hangar/ulrich_wrede/bo-105_1m_nbc/ :D No, really. It wouldn't be of much use anyway. You are doing a stellar job already, with all those versions!

Nice video! This will be awesome once the EFM is released. :)

You will get a digital copy. EDIT: And welcome to the forums! :)
