I can't remember how many targets they can track at any one time but if you are MB you could flood them with aircraft ;)

SA-10 = 25nm My wife = 20m (or within earshot depending if you are talking about Eastenders or not) Don't forget to use SAM2 program for ECM

Why did the guy at 6:26 fall asleep? No way could I sleep with all that going on next to me. I have trouble with the neighbours TV let alone explosions and wearing a full flight suit to bed.

Use terrain masking or the best tactic I have found so far is to Panic then fly directly into the ground. I received no missile threats after following that procedure so it must work. I use that for most missile threats and after playing the sim for so long it is now part of my everyday life. Last week I was asked to go shopping by the wife ...... I looked for some terrain masking and I could only see the open wardrobe door tried to get in there but she had locked on. I then proceeded to drop flares (I call them air biscuits) but to no avail. Last attempt at ejecting failed so I dived onto the floor. It worked, she walked out the house after I feigned death and I re-spawned in the pub. I think it would be good if ED could include a panic button to this sim to make it more realistic and also add the option to flail arms wildly and scream. This I think would look good in F2 view and I would be happy to post tracks of this happening just before either blowing up or hitting the ground. ;)

Warthog Manuals In Kindle Format? (MOBI)
Fleshpiston replied to HitchHikingFlatlander's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
As mentioned here and in the other thread you can copy the PDF directly over to the Kindle and view it. Works quite well. As I have said in the other thread it would be nice to have a dedicated version but this does a good job of it. Pictures are displayed in greyscale but the quality is quite good. -
All you need to do is connect your Kindle to your PC via USB. Then copy the manual to the documents folder on your kindle and that's it. The Kindle can read PDFs and I must say does a very good job at it. It would be nice to have a dedicated Kindle version but we don't always get what we want ;)
-
Nope normal gen3. DX has a bigger screen and would lend itself better to this type of application though.
-
True. But if I get cracking now and get a flow on when the final is out it should make the process easier ;) EDIT: Good news! Just connected the Kindle to the PC via USB and did a straight forward copy to the documents on the Kindle. Formatting is spot on and no format changes are needed all is correct. Noice! This is where I do the zOMGing its amazing...... or I could just say I am pleased it worked ;) I will also take back what I said about the resolution on the Kindle because it seems even though it is not colour the pictures look very detailed and still high quality in greyscale.
-
Well I am in the process of giving it a go anyhoo. If I succeed then I will share. I have done some Kindle formatting before so I don't think this should take too long.....famous last words. The Kindle doesn't have the resolution or any colour but I don't believe that will affect the manual too much (might need a few work arounds).

Yep I know that ;) But a kindle version it is not. It would need to be formatted for Kindle.

How about a kindle version.....??? (even PDF could be chucked across if I wasn't so lazy).

Can You Calibrate Warthog?
Fleshpiston replied to SonofEil's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
@Firestick These things happen ;) good to see you figured it out though. BTW why would you unzip them to different folders anyway? @Lusche and Shadow.D., None of us can blame the stick for wonky flying anymore. :megalol: -
Can You Calibrate Warthog?
Fleshpiston replied to SonofEil's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
UPDATE: Our good people at TM have fixed the issue with the calibration tool "hanging" and not accepting an input command. So as of now I am running a nicely centred HOTAS. This is version 1.13: I would also like to say a thank you to Thrustmaster support and I can recommend their products, not only because of the quality but also their support is excellent. Warthog speed brake sticks
Fleshpiston replied to cichlidfan's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Sounds right. I am not at work so I can't check but just have a look in windows calibration tool (I will when I get home) to confirm. Back to OMG TIS OWSOME!!111!! I tried to fly with an old 3D force feedback stick I had and I just could not get my noggin around remembering all the keymaps and thought it was a wise move to grab the Warthog HOTAS. So glad I did because as you say OMGWTHBBQ!! Also FYI: http://ssshotaru.homestead.com/files/aolertranslator.html -
I have no idea, I haven't been in the "game" for 12 years or so.

Can You Calibrate Warthog?
Fleshpiston replied to SonofEil's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi Ivanwfr, I think I get the gist of what you are saying and I would always expect that if a company sends me a program that it should work. If it does not however I will help that company all I can resolve the issue. Support is always a two way dance. I have looked through the coding and I can't find any real misshaps so to speak of so I will wait for TM. I have given them a bit of information and if they want more I will give all I can. I have also tried the same program on two other PCs now, one at work and the spare at home with no joy. I can only think there is a missing command between the USB and the program. As I am using an ASUS motherboard M4A89GTD it might be a case of the ATI USB filter drivers having a Benny and not playing ball. I spent a few hours last night going through the whole setup and logicically doing it bit by bit. I will persevere and hope that TM are quicker than I am in resolving the issue after all it is their product. -
Looking forward to this big time. So I might have made the right choice getting me a DX11 GPU then  Keep cracking on with all the good stuff you lot do (ED). The work you produce keeps me off the streets and out of the pub and for that I (and my Missis) thank you! I never got to fly the beta so I haven't "done" the whole Nevada thing yet but I put some cash to one side ready for your release! Hats off to you fellas!!

Can You Calibrate Warthog?
Fleshpiston replied to SonofEil's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
My WH Joystick is well off centre so I also contacted TM. I got the new Calibration SW 1.11 (.exe is also 1.11) and for the life of me I cannot get past the press "space" prompt. I have tried moving it round in circles pressing all the buttons, different USB ports, running as Admin and in the different compatibility modes, shouting at it, even caressing it slowly and no joy. I have sent TM a reply explaining the issue and I will wait to see what they say. (BTW I tried the 1.10 .exe and no go there either) EDIT: Also with all other USB ports empty bar the Keyboard and Mouse. At the moment mine is as follows: Y = 32490 and X= 33222 HW_Stick Calibration_V1.11.rar -
Russian style Stick : Defender Cobra M5 USB
Fleshpiston replied to PeterP's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Trifles make perfection? Best company motive I have ever seen. Stick looks like it will sit nicely on my desk (proposed prices aren't too bad either). -
They are a bit of a flimsy design but mine has lasted well. I swap between the hat clip and the Pro depending on if the better half wants to watch telly or not ;) . I find they both do the job very well and really have no preference between them. I did have a little bit fall off the arm of the pro but I used the good old plastic weld and it has been fine since. Have moved it around a lot and not just from house to house but it has travelled between three country's now and still works. I hope the next design is a bit more on the sturdy side.
