  1. Its all working OK, however, I notice that the wire connection from the base to the grip is very strained at full afterburner position, ideally, the wire should be longer to avoid stressing the connection. is there a way to extend this so there is more slack?
  2. No, that just works with the vaicom pro add on for voice attack, which I had installed and was causing the issue, even though I was not using that profile. If you are having the same issue and you dont have vaicom installed, then I dont know.
  3. cheers, will look in the ME! Edit, just checked and cant see any option for drawing a grid......
  4. Oh, thanks. Dont remember setting that up in VA, where do I go to un enable that?
  5. Hi, just noticed that when I run voiceattack, I dont get the jester wheel.....can anyone help ? Thanks!
  6. Hi, is there a way to position a series of waypoints at specific distances ( I want to make them equal) from each other, without having to try and measure using the ruler? Thanks
  7. Yes, can click assign, but no devices in the drop down..... A separate issue I noticed is that with VA open, we both lose the jester wheel?
  8. Thanks, I was running version 2.4, does 2.5 avoid the mirrors issue? I checked in the version 5 description .lua and those lines were not there. I added at the top, see enclosed....is this correct? Thanks! description.lua Edit: This seems to work, so anyone who needs the edited .lua file can download. Thanks for your help. Have to say, the mod is excellent.....
  9. Hi, I am helping a buddy install voice attack, with a view to start using vaicom.........he has it installed, but when we click on joystick options, in the general tab, none of his joysticks are showing.... He is running as admin, and all other settings match my install, which is working fine....all his devices show in windows control panel. any ideas? Thanks
  10. Hi, which of the current readability and clarity mods work with the current build? I usually use the F14 VUX mod, but it messes the mirrors up, which I really like..... Thanks
  11. OK, thanks, so where I am now, which looks great and runs 60FPS pretty well, is 80% in open XR, 3120 x 2985 in the overide. I am also using CAS at 100%. What do other G2 users have?
  12. Been updating the toolkit and my settings. Why is the resolution I see in the "override resolution" section so much higher than the native headset resolution? I am seeing something like 3240 x 2980 ( or similar, I changed it so cant remember exactly!) while the G2 default resolution is 2160 x 2160. Second question, what should it be set at for my G2? I cant get it to go to 2160 x 2160, if you set the first side at 2160, the second side goes to 2105...why? In relation to the above question, what should I set the percentage at in open XR tools? I have tried setting as near 2160 x 2160 as I can get ( which is 2160 x 2105) and adjusting the resolution percentage in Open XR tools, but at 150%, it seems not as crisp as it was when I had it set at 80% in tools and something around 3240 x 2980 in the performance toolkit overide setting....... Whats peoples take on this?
  13. I tried using my stick without the CLS2 software connected, not sure if that means its NOT working with FFB, but the same thing happens.
  14. Here are some pictures from my Willy Peters aircraft photo file book.......It's a fleet B model, and you can see the labels are way easier to read...... The source images are much clearer, apologies.......
  15. Are you able to run the stick without FFB, to see if same thing happens?
  16. Not familiar with the Rhino, but that has its own software surely? That you need to use with the stick? Does it use native DCS DX for the FFB? With the Brunner, using their software does not override whatever native FFB effects there are in each module......for example, on modules with little or no FFB support, you cant make the stick judder or shake on buffet etc. But what you can do is adjust the way the force scales to speed, the strength of the force, and importantly for me, the hardware trim. I am pretty sure in the real jet, if you trim the jet, the stick moves to the trimmed position. Thats all the hardware trim does. And with different profiles for different modules, you can set the stick to work like the jet you are flying. Hornet for example does not do that due to the FCS so on my Hornet profile, stick does not move when I trim.....
  17. Yes mate, although mine is a Brunner. Thats very interesting! Maybe something to do with the hardware trimmed stick - I have mine set up so the trim is applied only to the stick, not in DCS....IE, I trim nose down and my FFB joystick physically move forward to a point to where I have trimmed it. I have no buttons bound for trim within DCS as this is supposed to double up the trim. I will take a look, re run the mission again and note exactly how my stick is trimmed at handover point and see if I can workout how that relates to what happens in the sim. I will try first re enabling trim within DCS. How does your Rhino work with the trimming? It would be great if someone with a normal joystick can try the mission and see if it works OK......
  18. I have started a new thread for a different issue I am having with the ACLS. I have the mission working correctly now. I have flown the ILS & then ACLS approach 4 times now and each time, the same thing happens when I press the NWS to handover to the system, which is that the jet noses down into the sea. Up until that point, everything is as it should be and as expected. I have checked for a controls binding issue, but found nothing. Can someone fly the mission and see if you can get a successful system connect and landing? Many thanks F-14B-ACLS Practice.miz
  19. I agree, I prefer the weathered realistic look as well......I am NOT disputing the SME's etc.....just pointing out the inconsistencies with this module and all the others.
  20. I think that i snot entirely fair.......the F14 ( and I love it and its weathered look, but it is hard to read, especially when first learning the jet) is the ONLY jet in DCS that has this degree of weathering and illegibility in the cockpit. What makes this "right" and all the other jets in DCS wrong? They are all old jets and have been in service just a slong as the Tomcat for example......The issue here is not, anyway if its correct or not, we simply have a very well weathered and used F14 as presented by Heatblur and we need to deal with it. If you dont like it, then use a mod, but I do think its wrong to state that its " correct" and they all looked like that. I dont see you in threads for the other jets complaining they are not right as they look too new and they should all look like the F14 after a few months use!! Not getting in a beef BTW, just being pedantic!
  21. I think the issue is a flag condition set to activate the ILS a longish time into the mission. I changed it from 300 seconds to 10 and its all working OK now! Thanks Rudel for the pointer
  22. Thanks Rudel....I had a read through.....much of it is above my pay grade. But it did give me a clue as where to look, to see if the mission maker had done a similar script....he had not, but he had set some switched flag conditions which explain the issues I have also had in this post So I have been able to solve that problem, many thanks!
  23. I am adjusting the enclosed mission, so I also have a version where I am 15 miles out from the boat in lighter conditions, so I can specifically practice the ILS needles procedure and the ACLS system procedures, without having to spend 20 minutes first doing the complete case 3 from 50 miles out..... In this mission, the ILS, datalink etc are all already set and everything works as it should. So I simply made a copy and changed the following things: I altered position and altitude of the players jet to 15 miles astern the boat at 2000 ft and 250 knots. I made the time of day an hour earlier to make things a little easier.....thats it... However in my changed version, the needles display, but stay off to one side and up.....So I am unable to do the ACLS approach - I cant figure out why......I should add, I have made sure Jester has selected the boat on datalink, even though I dont think I needed to, as this was already done in the master mission. Can anyone help? I also enclose my edited version...... Thanks in anticipation! F-14B-Case3-Supercarrier.miz F-14B-ACLS Practice.miz
  24. Thanks, sadly I have zero knowledge of scripting with either moose or .lua files... I know something similar can be done, as in this enclosed mission by Doppler the position keeping is scored. What I want to do is similar but with some tweaks. I have looked at his mission in the editor and can see the principle, however there are key bits I dont understand.....for example, he has 3 zones and a series of flags tied to them ..... I can see that you can have a moveable zone and it can be attached to a unit.....good so far...but his zones dont seem to be attached to a unit. So I cant figure out how they work.....I would ask him - but cant seem to find him anywhere on this forum to message formation_trainer_by_d0ppler.miz
  25. Hi, how do you get a jet you spawn into to have all the controls etc set as you want? I can figure the radio presets, but say i wanted to spawn into an F14, on an ILS approach to the carrier, how can I set up the jet in the ME with all the TACAN, D/L, etc all pre tuned? Thanks
