  1. Regarding height, it's more to do with connective tissue problems, as well as increased strain on the heart. Their linking other issues with it as well anymore, but generally the taller you are, the more strain on your circulatory system and such.
  2. Hehe, you probably stopped, I stopped growing when I was around 23. I don't think human beings were meant to really be taller than 6'5", because there's a lot of health problems associated with being too tall.
  3. Went to enlist in 1991, passed all the ASVAB tests with 100% and the Air Force Recruiter came to my high school to interview me and sign the forms. Got all through them when he asked me what I wanted to do in the Air Force. And I said I wanted to fly A-10's. Because of my eyes, and the fact that I was already 6'4" at the age of 16, the gentleman told me I would never fly any plane, but I could have any other job I wanted. Only wanted to fly, so I turned the offer down. Dreams crushed, I actually cried that day. Had the same problems a few years later when I tried Joining the Army, so I could have a chance at flying the Apache, but the same physical problems plagued me. Didn't help that I'm now almost 7 feet tall.
  4. That would really be fun. You can communicate the position of enemy forces, use a laser designator for the Pilots to do LGB attacks, and fire some of your own hellfires for targets of high value. Plus having high power thermal cameras and high magnification for picking out threats at a distance. I like it!!
  5. Messing around with XBox K'nect software, I think it would make Karakoe more entertaining. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-287ehU1U4&list=FLUbMa9kEYoLP3_Zlc2nzVPA&index=217&feature=plpp_video (click "watch in standalone player") Aimbot in real life The Crying PC Gamer: Russian Dancing Men: Battlefield 2 Vehicle sounds (Music) Battlefied 2 Gun Sounds COD4 gun sounds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooTD1Qf1wsQ&list=FLUbMa9kEYoLP3_Zlc2nzVPA&index=318&feature=plpp_videop:// T-Super Thunder Sting Car!! 6. LOL, he was right!!
  7. LOL, those are real. Passing the time with Steel Beasts Pro PE, and tanking around in the Leopardo 2E and M1A1.
  8. LOL, yes Zoky I did strike it with a hammer, and thankfully it didn't go BOOM, so it now holds a nice place at my military library. In all seriousness, I sort of wonder about the guys that keep the live ones around in their homes. It's one thing when your hunting or just like to shoot and your using .308 or so, but when you have an A-10 GAU/8 practice round that's filled with powder and primed.... Wow.. I just don't want to even be on the same block as that guy, just in case lol.
  9. LOL, the responses on that question site about striking rounds in the front are hilarious. It really is amazing no matter where you go, there some real mouth breathers out there.
  10. LOL, I like the 2nd episode too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDHQjTxDRYk&list=FLUbMa9kEYoLP3_Zlc2nzVPA&index=1&feature=plpp_video Gotta love the updated Jaws Noseart on the one guys A-10 LMAO!!
  11. LMAO!! Love this community, the other day I cleaned it up a bit. Now I need the AP round and then I can make cool bookends for my military book collection!!
  12. LMAO!! I knew I'd get that kind of response from this crazy place. :megalol: So... The hammer didn't do anything, should I put it in the microwave? If that doesn't work I'll put in a fire and see if it does anything. :megalol:
  13. LOL, I'm 99% sure it's inert. There's no primer in the base, and no powder in the casing. The fuse unscrews and there's nothing inside the HEI shell. But the fuse is rather heavy and there's something that rattles inside when I gently shake it. There's a metal plug in the bottom of the fuse, but it doesn't look like anything was removed. I have to admit that's the only thing about this round that makes me wonder if it's fully inert.
  14. And I had to have it!!! Shown for reference is a .50 cal BMG round I had collected 30 years ago.
  15. I actually prefer my HOF settings at 500 to 700 feet for my CBU-97's, but any lower and I found my munitions hit the ground without time to eject their skeets. Most of the time I see a quick target of opportunity and I tend to be at treetop height so making a quick climb and roll over to dive on the target and release a cbu tends to work for me. Added benefit as mentioned above is that the low altitude setting makes the pipper pretty accurate in your hud.
  16. Hehe, won't somebody think of the LOL's?? :D
  17. Hmmm :( Inaccurate and not for the A-10.... pfffsssssss... poof (sound of my dream loadout going kaput.) Thanks for the info guys
  18. Hey guys, Found this site on A-10 ammo after doing some research from a recent yard sale acquisition. https://www.atk.com/Products/documents4-1/AS%20-%20GAU-8A.pdf The big thing from the article is the GPU-5A gun pod. Is this used on the A-10? And might there be a chance we can have it in our sim in the future? http://www.gdatp.com/factsheets/A015_GPU-5A.pdf I thought it would be neat if you could put two to four of these on an A-10 and have all guns fire, but shorter bursts that would put more rounds on target. Well I thought it would be fun anyways. :D
  19. That's really neat, considering how much effort he had to put in to create them with his CNC machine. Definately cool. But wait till you see what I picked up for $5 at a neighbor's yard sale. Photos hopefully by this weekend. :D
  20. Thanks for that info guys, Heck for the asking price of FC3 alone just to get AFM missiles would have been worth it for me. That's a game changer for sure, and a very welcome addition.
  21. Can we enjoy the AFM missiles in DCS A-10C for example if we purchase FC3? Or do the AFM missiles only work within the FC3 sim? Or, does DCS A-10C already have AFM missiles??
  22. okay, thanks for the help EtherealN
  23. I'm confused about reputation too. How do I give reputation to others?
  24. When you speak of American planes and EMP, also consider how most American platforms are. For Example, U.S. Navy ships are also hardened from EMP, the U.S. has all of it's weapons systems built with a nuclear war in mind. I would expect nothing less of any other country that has military hardware that needs to work under the most demanding and worst case conditions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATLAS-I from link above. So in the year 2000 they upgraded the system to a power level that can allow study of nuclear fusion at the point of detonation.... And they tested cruise missiles and other aircraft. Well, I learned something new today. :D
