A10 cockpit controller setup help please
Picksplitter replied to Zzenith's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I think I can help you with this. open the sim and go to options/controller. Engage any button on your joystick and this should put you in the 'joystick' column. Scroll to the very bottom and look for zoom in/zoom out. Highlight one and click 'add'. Assign the button you want and click 'ok'. Do the same for the other function. Remember to save the changes! On my Thrustmaster I have assigned all DMS functions to the modifier as I want the zoom feature 'on top' and quickly accessed. This is really a personal preference. Good luck! -

Hey folks... found this WW1 German flight helmet / cap and just had to have one. Sold in USA for @ $30 but turns to $55 to get it into Canada. Looks like the tracker clip should slide into the side flap. Thought it was kind of neat and so it's 'in the mail'... just sharin'! http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/german-military-style-leather-aviator-helmet.aspx?a=961636 Bmon

TM Warthog yellow arrows
Picksplitter replied to mr_mojo97's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
sorry, not mine! They (the arrows) went as soon as it was together and functioning. But my gods, how I love this tool! -
Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS added! Also... finally got EMS and Helios working together! See sim pit album in bio... And this can't be said enough... thanks once more to all for the incredible help and encouragement this forum provides. Truly outstanding! Bmon

well, that was painless... repair was successful and no damage done! Qudo's to Robert @ Thrustmaster/France... exemplary customer service. Joystick is now recognized by all and functioning in game. Off to re-map some buttons and see how this puppy works. Thanks to all... your support is outstanding! Bmon Latest update... been flying @ 4 hours w/ new HOTAS... wow - I'd go thru this whole weekend again just to have this tool in my hands! More than worth the grief and uncertainty. My fingers are still looking for the x52 commands, but I shall adapt and overcome. For anyone still wondering about the cost... I now wish I'd done this a year ago... a: it would be paid off by now and b: worth every blessed dollar! (and more, truly). Nosewheel steering... I know how to turn it on and off, but without the joystick twist action (Y axis?), steering on the tar-mac is a bitch! Looking to find how others have re-mapped to deal with this. I shall re-adapt and overcome! Landing... with the x52 it was always a finicky, touchy affair... with the Thrustmaster I'm landing at speeds I'd never attempt with the x52... solid, secure and true! Sing with me... I'm in heaven, I'm in heaven... Bottom line.... don't wait another day... Do it! -

thanks Memphis... understood. I've worked with electronics (assembly) most of my life. If it doesn't come 'gently' I will abandon the 'fix'. The silver 'keeper' isn't 'crimped' to the din connector properly so it should be painless!? Thrustmaster has offered to send me a replacement part to replace myself if it comes to that. Again, thanks for the support -

update.... spoke with Thrustmaster in France this a.m. The pin connector in the joystick base is 3 mm lower than it should be. A very patient Thrustmaster tech talked me thru trying to lift the connector up to it's intended position. I can get it to where it should be, but it drops back down when I re-assemble. I intend to keep trying this 'fix'.... if no joy by tomorrow, it goes back! Thanks again for all your help gentlemen. -

thanks Witchking, but it's not the computer! My box works with everything else (MFCD's, Helios, EMC, X52 and the Thrustmaster throttle).... all usb's recognize and work with anything plugged into them! (I've switched things around and they continue to work) Device manager can see the stick, but it isn't communicating with the software or DCS (world and the stand alone 1.1.1.1 versions). Whereas the throttle does. Shipping the Thrustmaster back on Tuesday.... heck, I waited 2 years to do this, guess I can wait a couple more weeks. Thanks again... more on this saga when results are in... -

Chchildfan.... bought thru amazon... third party supplied and shipped. Long weekend here and no ones there till Tuesday. My X52 is plugged back in and I'm gonna go blow something up! Sheesh... Thanks again to all of you, wow, what a community! -

Okay... latest attempt was re-installing drivers with devices plugged in... the throttle was in device manager, but not the stick. Unplugged the stick and then plugged it back in... windows did the 'detecting device, installing drivers, device ready to use' and the stick shows up in device manager! But nowhere else. In the game, throttle works beautifully... no stick at all. For anyone who has a Thrustmaster... All leds are alive on the throttle... Is there a power indicator on the stick? Does anything 'light up'? I have nothing! Memphis... thanks for the chuckle! I think this might be a Friday, 4:30 p.m. device when everyone on the assembly floor just wanted to go home! I can see and feel the quality of this product.... they do make a very nice thing. But.... -

you guys are the best! Thanks. Yellonet.... did what you advised and yes, in device manager the stick is there... but nowhere else.... Cookie... the throttle works in any usb I can use, but the stick just isn't there... not in the game or Thrustmaster TARGET.... but it does show up in device manager. Just plugged in the throttle and it too is in device manager. I'm going to re-install all Thrustmaster downloads, leaving the devices plugged in. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong, but will keep trying! Thanks again guys -

hey Memphis... stick and throttle are separate usb connectors... throttle works in any usb port I can use, but the stick is just dead. Deleted all drivers and programs, new downloads and re-install. Same thing... the throttle's there but no stick. Trying to contact Thrustmaster, but no joy... this could take weeks! Will post again when/if something positive happens. But I do love the throttle! -

Well! it arrived last night.... installed and mounted on the sim 'sled', throttle works as advertised, all functions normal. But the stick is nowhere to be found, not in the TARGET software nor in the options/game. The throttle's there, but not the stick. Arggggh. Will re-do installs from start, hoping it's something I missed, but I think I've got a dead stick. Other than that, it feels and looks great! -

Scarecrow.... finally a nibble! The 'roman field commanders helmet' is a ruse... it reminds me that at the end of the day, this is still just fun and no where near real life. I think a real life Canadian Forces pilot would throttle me just for thinking about it! (Very serious people) Chchilidfan.... thanks... thought I might have breached some protocol there for awhile. I've been convinced for quite some time that all we leave this rock with is the experience we've gathered... and as silly as it might be, I am now a bit more knowledgeable 'bout 'siklids'. Sweet! Thanks... Hotas Shipper tells me it's just 3 - 18 sleeps before delivery.... woo-hoo! -

thanks... for me the hardwired cord just means I have to dream up a new to get in and out of my 'sled'! After the addition of the 21" monitor, the X52 had to be unplugged and removed. (see sled album in bio ) But I am looking forward to this new stick! -

thanks again man... I'm in for saving $$! off topic... being a silly Canuc, I've often wondered how to pronounce 'Cichlidfan' Ci-chlid-fan Cich-lid-fan Ci-chli-d-fan ??? Wrong on all counts? Origin or meaning? -

Hey Cichlidfan.... here are the two links... Model 2971004 http://www.amazon.ca/Thrustmaster-2971004-Hotas-Warthog/dp/B004I5XB4K/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1367975942&sr=8-5&keywords=thrustmaster+hotas and model 2960720 http://www.amazon.ca/Thrustmaster-2960720-Hotas-Warthog-Flight/dp/B00371R8P4/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1367976056&sr=8-7&keywords=thrustmaster+hotas Both claim to be "Hotas Warthog Flight Stick" Thanks! -
Hello Gentlemen... I am very soon going to acquire my first Thrustmaster HOTAS gear.... in Canada thru amazon I have two options... Model #2971004 or model #2960720.... I'm leaning towards the 2960072 model for the look only (don't seem to like the 'knobby' protrusion on the top right side of the joystick in the 2971004 model).... so, input please! Pro's? Con's? Also... on the joystick... is the cord hard wired at the joystick or is it removable as it is on my Saitek x52? (this will determine the modification to my 'sim sled') Thanks and let loose the opinions! Bmon / Picksplitter

Nealius and others... in the stand alone V1.1.1.1 I did not notice this.... only in 'world'. It is a small thing but glad I can turn it off!
