Picksplitter replied to Bunyap's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Bunyap... just have to say... watched a couple of your vid's and man, if you're not a teacher, you should be! Well done, thought out and executed. Your clarity is truly stunning. Thank you. -
just got the p51! thought it was a deal at $15.99 (60% off) ... but got it at the DCS site for $11.99... now I feel like a thief :music_whistling: Thanks ED!

Thrustmaster HOTAS remapping
Picksplitter replied to Wolfx's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I also had this happen, quite awhile ago. I wound up deleting all commands for the throttle and re-mapping. If there's an easier way, I don't know it... perhaps someone else does... The only good news for me in this was that I really knew my throttle when I was done  -
Welcome Rex... don't be so shy next time :).... ask... Glad you're in.... hope you stay!

So what's everyone's story on why you're here and not in a real cockpit?
Picksplitter replied to Pajeezy's topic in Chit-Chat
So what's everyone's story on why you're here and not in a real cockpit? for me, it's because in real life ya only get to die once! usually... -

Ditto.... if mine died tomorrow I wouldn't hesitate to order another. The only problem would be not getting it fast enough  Also note... after reading multiple threads here about how easy it is to break the pro-clip, I lashed, strapped and nailed mine to by headphones... 2.5 yrs. and no breakage! Really pay attention to this! Yer gonna love it!

Hey... "How do i find out what Version of DCS A-10 i have. And how do i install the latest patch" open DCS and look to the bottom right corner for the version you're currently using. Upon opening DCS the auto-updater should prompt you to update... just say 'Yes'.

Hotas warthog DIN Connector Problems
Picksplitter replied to esseresse's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hey there, home from work. "I cant get a good grip on the connector." With a very small flat screwdriver, 'gently' work the two flanges up and out until you can grip the fitting with your fingers. Just be gentle and patient. Remove the stick from the base.... remove the 2 screws and 'gently' pull the silver fitting up.... there should be enough slack to get it out enough to see the bottom of the fitting. apply a little epoxy to the bottom rim of the pin connector and 'gently push it in until it's flush with top of the silver fitting. When the epoxy is dry, re-mount fitting and reassemble the stick. That's how I fixed mine.... but wow... $700.00? way too much man  -
Hotas warthog DIN Connector Problems
Picksplitter replied to esseresse's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
sorry... off to work, will re-post in @ 9 hours with solution. Don't try to force it! You have to come from the rear side and push the pin into place, then epoxy. More details later... sorry, have to run -
Hotas warthog DIN Connector Problems
Picksplitter replied to esseresse's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I had the same issue... pin connector had fallen @ 2mm. It was an easy fix to pull the pin conn to the proper height and then I epoxied it in place. Not a problem since then... -
Tragic... the a10 will be mothballed. I see it as the same mistake made when 'they' decided that the F-4 Phantom II didn't need a gun... When the substance yet again 'hits the fan' and 'they' realize there's no viable unit to do the job, the a10 will be resurrected in short order.

Next DCS (European) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Picksplitter replied to Busterbvi's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Woo-hoo.... any Mosquito version for me! -
:), lucky boy!

Thanks Rotorhead.... so I'm not alone! This is what I was wondering. Didn't see this as becoming a 'time' debate. I know one can dream a day in 4 minutes or less. 3 times I've had my life 'flash before my eyes'.... and that happened in what can only be described as nano-seconds. 'Aware' time vs 'dream' time vs 'universe' time is another philosophical debate for another place. Really was just wondering if anyone else has 'flying' dreams.... so thanks again!

I had a dream last night... honest. Felt like it lasted 4 hours. I was flying a de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito around and thru New York city.... wow, what a rush! Slipping thru and around all those buildings was a really trippy thing. Anyway... I hope I'm not alone with this weirdness! I've never asked DCS for anything, but now I just have to say.... can we have the Mosquito.. can we, huh, can we?

Hands down the best investment I ever made regarding this sim... Go Warthog.... you won't regret it. You might come to the same conclusion I did... 'Why did I wait so long?'
