I got a message today informing me that its ready to ship. based on emails it took 3 days during the assembly period but 11 days to get through inspections. Not sure if it failed and they had to start all over or if inspections is a bottleneck. Asked if I wanted to keep the 50ppd unit and if my address was the same. It appears to be moving along...

has the issue with remembering "room scale" or "play space" been fixed yet? I remember people were saying they were having to re enter the boundary for their working enviroment all the time and just removing the HMD could break tracking. I haven't heard many complaints about this recently so I'm not sure if it was fixed or if everyone just gave up hope. Thanks

This morning I got an email saying its now in done with production and into final inspection. The first email said they expected the HMD to be done with production that week which was the friday the 25th. So apparently it's made it through the assembly line and at least functions well enough to be sent off for final testing. This testing phase has no ETA but they threatened to send an email once completed where they will verify my shipping address.. I'm curious how long this will be.

I placed my order in May and got an email now saying "Based on your order details and our production schedule, your headset is planned to be completed within this week." So sounds like maybe I'll get it in Aug sometime.

Hows this been working out for you? Is the VR1 going to be something you can use or did it end up being a poor buying decision for you?

I had no luck with openXR it could not even run the DCS menu. I used steam VR and this ran well. eye tracking needs your eyeballs to be very close to the lens. use the heat map to make sure it working as expected. I cant remember if it worked with steam vr anyways I remember never using it because I think its only open XR and would require recal every time I moved the HMD on my face. In order to use any of the functions in the VR1 tool a program must be running so with steam house running or DCS running you can then setup eyetracking calibration and stuff like that. Looks like Somnium got their production speed up. That's good. Is the Image clear?

This is looking is a bit slower than expected and I had pretty realistic expectations (I think). I was figuring around Aug for non preorders (like something placed in early may) This seems quite optimistic at this point oct/ nov is probably a safer bet. The Somnium team did a good job of allowing individuals to ride along in the development process and watch as the prototypes moved into production phase and got beat up all along the way by reality. I probably have a bit better understanding of product development than the average person and am quite aware of dev team expectations vs reality and I was very appreciative of the Somnium team to provide as much dev info as they did. It was actually quite interesting to follow along in this process. Im assuming there is nothing like this on the pimax discord correct? Thanks!

If you look at a distant object through the top 1/3 of the image is it then clear? I found I had no issues using the top part of the FOV to look at things but using the center like normal would result in a poor image.

Tacview can add extra load to the cpu and cause inconsistent FPS or an overall reduction in FPS. It has been my personal observation that after DCS went to multicore this is now a non factor and there is no advantage to disabling tacview. But doing so Its not a bad suggestion for a first time startup with Vr, having as few of variables as possible can make any troubleshooting much easier.

Well If you want like a bran new one for probably like half cost that ships monday its still running until 6pm PDT Sunday. You're not the only one bummed out. I knew it would be a dice roll and I had gone into it knowing that it was going to be a long road to get it working well and all the issues ironed out. I did not expect the image to be a problem, For me the center of the FOV is trash, it's blurry and has slight double vision with CA. I can look above the center and use the top 1/3 of the image and that is amazing quality. I could not find a solution to this, I'm assuming it could be corrected with lens inserts but that means I have to figure out which ones to try along with the massive pile of other issues to sort out. I guess I was expecting the image to be motivation to solve the rest of the issues and without that I lost interest pretty quick. I'm assuming that most people will be fine, I'm not sure whats going on with it exactly, I tried to find someone having the same issue I could communicate with but I found no one. I did hear a guy in a video describe and issue something like I'm having but no way to get in touch with him. If the whole image looked like the top 1/3 this would be a solid HMD.

Hello Playing online TTI Convoy mission with friends. Looking for convoy from last known location, They've moved several miles either N or S on this road maybe as much as 10 miles likley not less than 3 miles. 1) cant get jester to zoom the pod out 2) cant tell jester to follow the road 3) I use VR and using direct head control is tough, the pod is too slow, too zoomed in and I have to look at the Tpod screen at an extreme angle which means im having to look through the crap part of the lens. Is there a solution that lets me zoom the pod in/out and just use a hat switch to move the pod and maybe set a mark point without breaking online Integrity check or disabling jester, who actually is really helpful in most tpod situations. The goal is zoom out and follow the road now I can look at the hud and the tpod screen clearly and without moving the pod in a direction I dont intend to move it. Maybe find the convoy, set a mark point and then tell jester to search for a target which he will easily find now that the pod is looking at the convoy. I know a long time ago there was a mod that gave full control of the pod before jester could tpod... would this mod still work as I described? Thanks!

I doubt it. Its been my observation that dcs can not simulate anything and as such any interaction that takes places likely required coding to make it happen. If a developer did not think of that interaction or did not consider it necessary then that interaction would not occur. This ls likely true for most software other than those that exist simply as physics simulators.

I'm still using the G2. I have the VR1 but can't get a good center clarity for whatever reason the center of the FOV is blurry and is significantly degraded from the top 1/3 of the display image which looks excellent. So here's to hoping the super looks good. At least its a low risk dice roll with a 14 day return policy (which is awesome by the way) I'm assuming these are probably still 2 months out? I have seen hardly any feedback here regarding them so im guessing just a handful of people have them

This is a bit unfortunate to hear. I was hoping that It would be a solid step forward. What are your intentions at this time with the unit? are you overall better off with the og crystal or is the super better overall? If you ignore the mura and tiger stripes is the image actually clear? Is it clear over a wide FOV? Is the top of the image clearer vs the center? -
Back to the G2. Im investigating the possibility of the Crystal super. It at least has a return policy so if it doesn't work out im not out another 2k

How were you able to return it? Is that an EU thing? Im in the US
