Yep, seems to be working fine alright. Dude, I think what the problem was is following - since they reach their "final" waypoint so quick the standart action is "nearest airport land". Orbit actually makes them "be onstation" and do their job, which is fighter sweep. So that was the problem there I guess. :) I felt free to edit your mission a little bit, haha. Dynamic weather beauty and a little tiny few missiles. ;) 8migfight MEGA EDIT.miz

The attachment problem often happened to me when I saved the mission withou actually changing anything within it. You know, you alt tab out for a long time, then alt tab back in and you're not sure whether you saved the mission or not. So you just save it one more time. That's when I lost my files within the mission. I believe it is enough to move a unit a little bit to make the mission "changed". Speed, have you gotten this bug WITHOUT not having changed it between saves?

Next time just post the mission in the first post. Because right now all I can say is - take away all their weapons, leave the gun ammo. Fighter sweep should do fine. Give them a "orbit" task at the waypoint you will be loitering at and they should do everything they can to kill you... Do you have the migs in 1 group? Or 1 mig per group? It is possible that if you have multiple migs in 1 group the group lead only sends out 1 or 2 migs. Man, I dont know. Post your mission. It will really help. :D

I actually had a perfectly fine mission once and I was doing "MP/Launcher open at the same time - testing" and the AFAC stopped working for some reason. No matter what I changed, it would not start working again. And all I had to do was restart the client and re-try... Effin weird. Maybe some script keeps running even though the mission is re-loaded? Crazy stuff man.

I read somewhere that it uses rather unknown and complex mathematics in order to calculate the artificial stupidity. :D -

F18 should still be able to engage the SA8 with HARM. No matter if it's appropriate or not. I am very shure that it is possible. Especially since the russian missiles can do it. USA are always about their fancy technology so I guess the AGM88C can lock onto a SA8. An AI bug still. -
Thanks for doing all the testing guys. A rather ugly workaround, stripping the mission naked like that. I hope a fix with the next version of DCS.

Hey guys, it is very impressive to see an IR pointer go through the sky pointing at your target and the coolest thing about it is - it's AI (A-10C as AFAC). So I was wondering - who else can IR point? Predator drone is not capable of this. And who can do what in general? What units can use an IR pointer? What units can use laser marker? What units can use WP smoke?

Huh, I never thought of it this way. Thanks. I will stick mavericks onto them from now on. EDIT:... which works FLAWLESSLY against Sa-8. Still, using ARMs should be possible as well. -

:( Sorry, but there is no exuse for THIS. Obviously something in the AI is totally borked. An OSA should be recognized as a radar threat. Also I told the F18 to attack the group with ARMs. It should work. EDIT: Oh, there have been some posts while I was recording the track and posthing this post. Yes, it seems to be broken. I will try to use the SU25T's SEAD stuff. If the SU25T can lock onto the SA8 the F18 with HARMS should be able to do that as well. @Mavericks - a dedicated SEAD flight should not have mavericks, should it? :-/ EDIT2: Su 25 T has no issues engaging the SA 8. seadFail2.trk su25CanLockOn.trk -

Thanks. But... But... :( The task is SEAD and it has perfectly fine HARM missiles under it... :( I don't believe it. I will try removing the ammo. A nasty workaround but... If it works, what the hell. -

Look at the track. Nah man, it should lock on as soon as it get's the radar warning. And when the OSA is acitvely tracking/locking nobody can tell me you can't shoot an AGM88C at a steady beam of radar... It's an AI bug. -
Yeah, not many ressources are available for bug fixing at the moment, stuff takes a lot of time. :( All we can do is post tracks and annoy the shit out of the tester team. And all they can do is check the tracks and post the bugs on the bugtracker and somehow try to annoy the shit out of developers. Maybe someday we will get a way to be able to fix this stuff OURSELVES, like the LOD fix Mustang always provides. Patience eh. :-/

Alright, here we go. Went into investigation mode again to make them tracks for the ED Testers who will hopefully pick up on this. ;) Predator seems to miss STATIONARY targets rather than moving targets. In all my testing predator missed stationary targets 3 times I ran the mission. See track - predatorFailStationary Then I tried a moving convoy - predator engaged moving vehicle fine, the 2nd one went stationary and was MISSED by predator. They sure seem to have issues with stationary target. See track - predatorMovingGoodStationaryFail When I put "dispersion under fire" to false predator had NO issues engaging targets because they both were moving.
