BS 2 on iMac, Eyefinity & Joystick Advice

Hi and welcome ! not sure i've understood everything but : CPU : good for DCS GPU : OK for medium detail (much because of 512Mb VRAM) Eyefinity 3 screens : hmmmmm, 6770M 512Mb will probably cause some troubles here. i'm not even sure to make it work with my GTX 670 2Gb (I'm looking for a 3rd Cinema Display 16/10, but 200€ a nonfunctionning unit is crazy in 2013) So do not count on it too much. Warthog HOTAS : FOR A10 OK / For BS2 : NoGo. It's working, but not very designed for helicopters. I don't have any other advice. I'm using X52pro, it would be a blast if it had ForceFeedBack. Try to do some search, for Warthog + BS2, i've read some time ago interesting users experiences. Did not really understood the last paragraph. I'm not a Qmaster expert in term of services sharing. I'm from the era of Comanche mac. and F/A-18 3 on Mac. Switched to W7 PC in november :( -
It is out, Asus, Zotac, EVGA version... for 399$+ It's sometimes said it's a GTX 685 (680 based) So, do you plan to replace your current card with it ? or buy an old gen card and SLI-it ? Share your experience please !

Hawk SR = Search radar Hawk TR = Tracking radar Hawk LN = Launcher LN needs TR, which needs SR. Shoot TR or SR, and this sam will be harmless. For example, S300 LN needs(=>) S300 TR => S300 Command Post => S300 SR almost same goes for Patriot. Good luck GAJ52

I was right. Your WM detected the HAWK SAM, 45km threat range (27 deadly) I told my WM to stay over the farp i went over gupagu, (NW) hid behind the hill, then reached altitude, quickly fired at the Hawk SR right in the center, then the TR (would make my WM crazy too) then he rejoined me, i gave him a datalink point (optional) and ordered him to engage datalink targets (F2) he searched for SAM normally. the only problem i saw here, is the buildings. sometimes, my WM Hovered doing nothing. the fact he was trying to engage an unit behind a building. This mission is quite difficult, because of the numbers and the defensive position in town. So i confirm my WM acted like Part 2 (back and forth) as long as he detected threatening targets, then part 1 (hover and shoot everthing) once safe. (Referring to my datalink guide) Have fun :)

Haha BaD CrC, yes the spanish patch note made me laugh too. But we can't say no-one cares BS anymore. :D this patch has a Black Shark Line ! Hurray ! for my codex, just take a look at my signature ;) Actually, SA10 reload time is wrong (3600s, not never), and MRLS show temporary number that i did not removed. V1.1 will include the scoring system. I'm largely Off Topic, so further discussion can't be continued here. -
The_Pharoah, somehow you're right about the world battle locations, even if in 1914 we had tanks and planes in Europe already :-) but the way you imagined things... I'm sure they could do that, but more like a RTS/RISK/Wargame ALB style. Even if it's thrilling, ED has to focus on 1 better product/location than a FSX worldwide. Another example : In Eve, players have thousands of solar systems to play with, and the majority of them are empty. You have some skirmish there and there. but 99% of the time, you're alone. And DCS has way less players in multi than Eve. Mmaruda, I think Minsk's team should be on EDGE 20/24 6/7 atm. And if they releasing a perfect scenery tool, i guess we can all wait in silence. But yes, everyone will buy it :D

If it's for video capture intententions, Record AVI tool in ME does not record this info bar. otherwise... PeterP is the man once again. -
Wow my name in bold here, was expecting a slap or something :cry: I did not tried this mission, however, looking at your description, i would say your wingman is detecting a long-range SAM, thus incapable of reaching his launch position (which is about 6km). This has something about the part 2 of datalink guide and the No-Fly-Zone (in my signature). If I can, I will try it later today and see what's going on. I would probably identify most dangerous SAMs, use my codex to see its true danger zone (in my sig too ;) ) and send my Wingman with an deep ingress point. If the SAM can shoot over 6km, i will have to take it out myself. Hope that helps

...and after X-laze(16?), 30mn resting, something like that. Overheat is modelled in BS2 i don't remember exacts numbers, but it's written somewhere.

Hi all :) I've played a bit around, and as far as i know, i've read : - SA-TLF switch is working again (confirmed) - Max Altitude changed (invalidated) - Max IAS alarm sound off (invalidated) - CALC Still not working (confirmed (manual testing)) Counting on you for NDB/Beacons stuff. [OT] By the did you checked my new DCS Codex on mod & apps sub forum ? ;) If not, wait for 1.1, it will have some correction and new stuff, as long as a nice video. [/OT] -
Not for me Rusty... this alarm is still present in my cockpit. did you tried a mission with your shark already flying at 350kph ? it should yell right after you press play. be sure to check your audio volume in options, we never know. Good luck

Honestly, i don't think it's possible. As you can't play A-10 in metric style. I suppose it's internally programmed in the source code. But, who am I to say that ? at least with metric units, i don't have to convert anything to know exactly what's going on around me ;) -
I don't think they touched the Ka50 AFM for a while. Just tested this, i still can hover fully loaded at 3600m, and climb up to 5300m in a 180kph foward flight. 8500m is reachable depending the weather and your loadout. Remember in "on the other side", you must maintain a 160 kph foward flight and climb asap.

It's a codex ;) the only way to change unit behavior is to play with .lua (put 1 in armor thickness and your unit will be in god-mod) But it's only working in local. You'll get an error in MP if you try to cheat. as you asked, i'l try to make a nice presentation next week

it's a database for multiple purposes. shows unit name (same order as in ME) its base chassis / life / armor thickness / speed / AI cruise speed / sensor height / detection range / Threat range / Weapons / Quantity / Reload time etc... - A ground commander can use it to know which unit send on the battlefield - Make balanced mission - Choose what weapon to fire against certains threats (the KA-50 gun doesn't work on every targets for example) - and more...

Well... can't do it myself :( PPS : About reload time, you should know it's not a perfect science. Only ED can answer this question. For what i saw, the unit begin to reload as soon as the first shot is fired. Thus if you spend 10mn to dispense your ammos, and it requires 15mn to reload, you end up with a 5mn reload time. --------------------------------------------- Hello !
