Well, just ran the benchmark... I noticed the aspect ratio is not respected (i'm in 16/10, not 16/9) There is a lot of clipping, but it happens pretty close. Very annoying when flying. Details on trees, but especially big rocks scattered everywhere. i can't imagine it in a flight sim. I had constant freezes, probably because my CPU didn't knew if it had to treat the benchmark at 1600Mhz or 3900Mhz. i didn't saw multithreading computations. the GPU in extreme HD took 1.1Gb of VRAM and... well... without this, is pretty !

From my bug thread : If you want, i can provide you installers of DCS A10+BS2 1.2.1 v6288. ;) I must admit this is the first post i see here where someone wants something that everyone else does not want, me included. In fact, it's dependent from nationalities. I've just tried Russian Ka in blue side, => talking Russian. While a Red sided USA still talks English From my personal opinion, i litteraly hated the english voice of Ka-50 in 1.2.1. If i could i would just remove it from west side too, especially Betty. Anyway, seems you found a local solution, good for you !

even with internal beta? I know, for example, Eve O. had ship collision once. but, that was before :) too much complains. :(

and no more horizontal SAM firing from forest. Same for radar aquisistion. for a S-300, you'll need the tower EWR, above tree line not the truck. But i know i'm dreaming.

Ka-50 attached chainsaw ? efficient ? LOL THIS is efficient, and performed with style. there is still a major issue with current DCS in current state : level of detail. If buildings and forests (line of sight + hitbox) presence is dependant of graphics details, how can we make propers solo and multi missions ? the i7 guy will see an enemy right above him (or be popped) the Core2 guy will pop it 15km away. i don't get it atm.

are you looking for extreme overclocking ? if not, limit yourself to basics. multiplier to 4.3 Ghz Cpu voltage to maybe 4.8Ghz. after that, you want to be careful. Note : i don't know haswell very much

The main fact is the Ka is probably not built upon separate blocs like this. hydraulics, electric and others circuitries should run through the entire craft. Thus removing the back (and not the tail extremity) should cause severe damage to the hull. but in DCS, complex crafts has separate "life" blocs. it's easier to kill a subsystem. Ships has separate blocs too, but i never see one braking like the titanic :) (note : i did not saw the titanic too)

PC upgrade - Advice needed please
Erforce replied to AkheirAX's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
he has a 79XX... there's no point to sell cheap and buy high for a Nvidia one, even if it's slighly better. Keep in mind this is a transition era with those upcoming old PS4/XBone and there is a good chance games will be optimized for AMD GPUs. But, i'm not a PC engineer, so... this is my 2 cents -
Saitek x52 vs x52 Pro for heli sim?
Erforce replied to Parkranger's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
i've got a Pro. it miss only force feedback, but it's perfect for planes and choppers. other than that, it's a true HOTAS. so many buttons, modes, combinations... Don't have recenter problem, i just had to buy another PS2 cable, from linky high quality seller. the fun thing, is i bought it on amazon a few year ago at 130$. now it's 200€, will never understand why, nor if it's more interesting than a X52 standard for it's price. -

Rhinox, on the other hand, this is only the beginning of the century, using superlatives already is hazardous :D I rarely overclock my 3770k, but when i do, it's for a reason. Moreover, it helps a lot when your CPU is quite old. now, if you intend to use it for 22years uninterrupted, don't overclock it. The GPU should be fine imho. But EDGE can redistribuate cards at some point. -
I just can say i'm playing on my computer since 20 years now, i used almost every mac mouse models since 1990 to 2007, and i can tell you one thing : A crappy simple logitech mouse + Eve Online litteraly screwed my wrist in less than a year. fortunately i'm not having this trouble with BlackShark and my X52, which is very confortable, but this pain will never leave know, in every mouse intensive game. i'm so happy ! so, take it easy, it's important.

performance with dynamic weather overcast and rain
Erforce replied to 159th_Falcon's topic in Game Performance
That's not new ;). Maybe worse with 1.2.6 (idk), but i cryed at least a year ago about dynamic weather. post 12: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=90471&highlight=dynamic+weather&page=2 I had severe issues with my xeons back in time, and as it wasn't the worse hardware, i told myself to never build a dynamic weather mission. Even with a few units. for a Ka-50, it attract crazy shkval and Trimmer issues. (the trim button can't stay pushed) i didn't mess anymore with the dynamic weather, even with my i7. -
Shkval absolute axis - Mouse and X52 mouse. Some clues !
Erforce replied to Erforce's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Hmmm.. that's interesting ! After a few tries, i succeeded in remapping the ministick to RX and RY rotaries. I can't say it's easy to use, because of curvatures and the design itself, but i'll digg it up later. rep inbound ! - A mouse support for this stick should be created if it's possible, registry tweaking is not recommended :) -
ahahaha ! that reminds me my debuts on blackshark. I suggest you to follow a full detailed checklist on youtube or pdf before clicking on any switch you encounter. like this one, the switch St3v3f said is at 0:50mn from Wags startup part 2.

hey i recognized those memories. Even if i have the 2400Mhz version :) don't you find yourself a little too far from your unique screen ? maybe 1080p moreover? congrats, it's nice to see this anyway !

Wooo! I'm the proud owner of a Saitek X45!!
Erforce replied to Raven Morpheus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
before all, congrats ! When i changed my old Cyborg 3D completely uncalibrated for the X52 pro, on amazon for 110€, i jumped around full of joy, because now, i could hang the mighty KA-50 correctly. i didn't really understand everything you said, but if i'm correct : the mode will allow you to bing same button for different action. on the X52 with our 3 modes, the first one is mainly Navigation, the 2nd Combat, the 3rd emergency. that way, i can't power up my chopper and combat systems with the mode 1, then lock and fire in mode 2. about the stick to stick, everyone has his method. be aware that if you use wet oil, like silicon or telfon, you'll need to reapply every 2 weeks a dose. it will attract dust and other nasty things. i'm using dry oil, that instantly evaporate when i spray it. right now, i've done it one time. it seems to work well. but i don't have the experience, as it's about 1 month old. (my stick is 3y old++) the pinky, used with the little finger, is a good place, imho. Have fun with it ! -
Shkval absolute axis - Mouse and X52 mouse. Some clues !
Erforce replied to Erforce's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Actually, with so many other modules working with the mouse control for TV screens, we can't say it's DCS limitation. I just looked how the SU-25T worked, and copy-pasted the same kind of information for Ka-50. now it's working in the menu, i'm sure i miss some specific scripted lua calls to make it work in game. That's why i restarted a new thread about this. Having the shkval control on the digital POV hats, is un-natural. In the real KA-50, the Shkval slew control is a stick on the cyclic, like on X52. We should not let this wish die slowly. A natural Shkval control is more important than having an electrical system, or even the external temperature. As for the upcoming FA-18C, the Target Designator should be bounded to the analog ministick. Chosing a slew speed and a direction dynamically is why we'll be able to shoot the S300 command center, before we die. Anyway, right now, i can't let my beloved Ka-50 to his hangar. -
Shkval absolute axis - Mouse and X52 mouse. Some clues !
Erforce replied to Erforce's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
no worry. In fact, if you don't know, like me, how this fully works, don't try it. in DCS, the X-52 column has only 7 analog inputs( X,Y,Z, joyX, joyY, JoyZ, Slider) the mouse is activated only for the "mouselook" TrackIr can control the shkval, but like the main X52 stick, it has another primary function. The ministick, in sst, can act like a mouse (registry matters). that's why it should be codable somewhere. -
Shkval absolute axis - Mouse and X52 mouse. Some clues !
Erforce replied to Erforce's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Oh, nice link, now i know what's behind the mini-stick ;) But i have to respectfully disagree with you. The difference between digital (0+1 state) and analog (0 ≤ state ≤ 1) is the multi-position input. If the stick was a matter of 0 and 1, (OFF or ON) it would act like a standard cross found on every pre-2003 console gamepad, or X52 POV hats. But the ministick is analog. This should be pressure buttons under it. it act like a mouse, and has different state, like the mouse too. you can see it here : CENTERED : Moved on grid, relative position between 0 and 1 : moreover, when you release the stick, it act like a mouse : no input, stopping any relative movements from previous location. For the Shkval, the game doesn't need to recenter each time, as this is an absolute grid. Any movement is possible within -70 and +70 degrees (i don't know the real numbers) of center camera position. When no input are received, the camera just stops. it doesn't not recenter. it's, on the paper, as simple as this. That's why it worked in FC2(can't confirm this myself) and it's working in the SU-25T. I keep believing in it. Edit : And for those who think i'm crazy to speak to myself, be aware that someone answered in between. How his post has been deleted entirely, i don't know, I've blurred the central text in case of. -
Hello there ! it's been some times now, we're still stuck to get an analog skhval controller. SU-25T has this feature, why not our Ka-50 ? Today, I digged up some config files, and i successfully added the mouse control to skhval. The only problem i see is, it just doesn't work yet :) I'm missing something obviously. I'm sure someone, somewhere can make it work ! i would like to post in russian forum as ED is very active there, but my russian knowledge is near zero. And google is not my friend too so, get to pictures : The SU-25 shkval mouse control : Based on its config, i added lua code to Ka-50 : to achieve this : But it doesn't work in game  Having an analog skhval control, instead of 4-way digital, would allow us to lock more naturally and easily moving targets, like helicopters or planes, as the speed doesn't resets when you change direction. Without mentioning controlling the slew-speed entirely. So if you have a clue about what other lua file or else we need to modify, share it !

next turn, the F15 right behing it. :)

I have better chance to steal a real thing, than to wait for a quantic computer. ;) Now do we absolutely need to have the 100% Ka-50 fidelity ? i'm quite happy to start it under 1mn30 and have numerous "useless" switches which, IRL, could bore your to death. it's pleasant to fly, but it will never be like a real one. you can't feel anything in DCS. Moreover, there is about 20 Ka-50 in the world, so... we're screwed anyway. ;)

BS2 1.2.x bugs and glitches thread (not CTD/BSOD)
Erforce replied to Erforce's topic in Bugs and Problems
Amazing, i never saw that one coming  i hope we'll get a better shadow with EDGE, like the water reflection :) -
Same for kamov. Without tanks, i can cross the entire map at 300kph swapping engine. but it's several hours flying. not very interesting. ;)
-
Apart from DCS mechanics itself (Mission editor etc...), BlackShark is still BlackShark. I use the BS1 manual sometimes because it's localized. I can't remember major change between 1 and 2 (in terms of flying) You should be good. The hardest challenge is to learn how to fly and shoot. after that, your learning curve will slow down. Good luck
