  1. Maybe, when LN started to make their first flight test model they started with a simple propeller driven aircraft. And since then they forgot to delete the prop wash and that's what we are seeing here, it makes perfect sense! Case closed, move along guys.
  2. I think this is a limitation due to the bombs, IIRC same applied IRL. I'm sure I saw it somewhere here on the forum.
  3. Naah, he's just testing Vipers' nerves ;) Edit: the whole LN team!
  4. I don't think he compared anything to the MiG-21.
  5. :megalol:
  6. True of course, but I'm not seeing that implementation in DCS. As for now it seems that your pitot probe will freeze in the clear and dry air at 25 000 feet. I'll buy it if you are flying into clouds. (Please note that I haven't experienced this in the MiG with pitot heating on, so for me it's not a problem like in the Sabre where it always occurs.)
  7. I've made similar approaches to the one Jocko posted with other less experienced DCS players and I think they enjoyed just being able to get below a rather high cloud cover in a somewhat controlled manner. Yes I am but since I passed my exam 5 years ago I've only flown raw data NDB approaches in simulators! I'll have a look at your track on Wednesday when I get back home again :)
  8. Not sure that icing would occur in clear air conditions though, like it does in DCS. Maybe if you descend from cold air into warm moist air, it could happen.
  9. Yeah...moving to the MiG-21 was a relief with RMI, DME and "ILS". Besides that it seems to be more stable to fly on instruments. Though I will try not to forget to give the 86 some love every now and then.
  10. I think Sochi is listed as "Adler", but I can't check now. But you can land in poor weather using ARK only :)
  11. This has been discussed quite a bit in different thread hidden around here. Take a look at this reply by Dolphin :) http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2182569&postcount=39
  12. Thank you and yes, it works anywhere. Just make sure you check the terrain in the F10 map before. I think only Gelendzhik and Novorossiysk are missing navaids. I've made this approach chart for Mozdok RW08 for RSBN and PRMG use in the MiG-21. It's incomplete and ugly but at least it explains a possible procedure and makes it understandable for someone who's never done anything like this before. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B9CtArHAgeXEY1cxejh1c2M0Q28/edit?usp=docslist_api (I'm at a hotel right now, so I wasn't really able to upload the image in a proper way so I hope you can see it.) The terrain in the near vicinity of Mozdok is also very flat but at other places with inconvenient winds, altitude discipline would be more critical. Maybe strong northeasterly winds in Nalchik forcing you to approach from the mountains.
  13. Nice to hear!
  14. Yes but that video was shot with a small camera held up at half an arm lenght...
  15. Happened to me as well, over Sukhumi with the same symptoms and solution.
  16. Hold the start button for two seconds!
  17. I've had this issue after updates when I've been using a mod to increase draw distance, reinstall the mod correctly or remove it.
  18. Looking at the latest official update, posted some 20 minutes ago, my guess still stands. :( Anyhow, soon we'll have the 21 so I can wait for 2.0 a bit longer.
  19. EGDE is not to be expected tomorrow, more likely Q4 or later.
  20. Yep I think so, try climbing to 30 000 and you should see something happening around 26-27 IIRC. Very annoying.
  21. The pitot always freezes at high altitudes in BST F-86F, even with heating and in clear air conditions...
  22. I'm not really sure what that implies.
  23. I know it's difficult and of course they learned a lot! But I was afraid to say that because that doesn't repay them for their work during the last 28 months. If they embark to develop another aircraft it will be even better due to their recently gained experience, that won't help anyone pay the bills in the coming months though. I'm not saying these guys are starving, I have no idea, but I think everyone want hard work to pay of.
  24. I'm sorry for being ignorant but I actually thought you guys were making the L-39 mentioned in the news letter...though reading it again, it does say "developed by Eagle Dynamics". That's a waste of resources, talent and ambition. I hope things work out OK for you.
