  1. Hi guys, I updated both DCS World and DCS World Open beta to 1.2.9. I can install the F86 beta module fine in DCS World. However if I also try to install it in DCS World Open Beta, I can't get it to work. The installer says that it can't copy F-86 1.2.9 module into World 1.2.8 (but I have updated both World and World Open beta to 1.2.9). Anybody else have that problem?
  2. How does one pick up the guy on the yacht? There is no way to land on it, right? Does one have to hover above the guy for some time, or how is it done? Great mission, btw.
  3. Hi Etchasketch, Yes, this is indeed a bug. I have already fixed it in my internal version. Most likely I will post an updated version of the campaign each time a new version of DCS World comes out.
  4. I have the same problem. In previous missions I put together I used smoke markers instead of flares. Those are easily visible, but also put a target sign right on the smoke-marked unit (more of a problem in PvP multiplayer missions), so I thought maybe flares are more realistic. I can play with the distance between player and ground unit when a flare is released. I'll try that...
  5. Hi Yurgon and Etchasketch, Thanks for your feedback. I'll take another look at it tonight. Just want to make sure: you are using the version downloaded from the User Files section, right? The versions I previously posted in this forum indeed had a bug in the CSAR mission that prevented the lua code from properly detecting the end of the mission.
  6. Hi etchasketch, I looked at the mission triggers in the CSAR mission, and couldn't find an obvious mistake. I test flew the CSAR mission one more time and I could complete the mission. My track file is attached. Since the mission is dynamic, it will play a little different each time, maybe that explains why you can't complete it. Maybe you can watch the track file to figure out what makes the difference when you fly it. That's all I can come up at the moment. Wolle Caesar.zip
  7. Hi etchasketch, Thanks for your feedback. I will take a look at it tonight. When I test flew the mission, I could finish it. But I will take a look at the exact triggers required to finish the mission, hopefully we'll be able to figure it out.
  8. Any 1.2.8 version should work fine. It has to be 1.2.8, since the campaign uses sling loads and embarking/disembarking, which have only been introduced in version 1.2.8.

  10. Hi, I attached two tracks, one for the New Arrival mission, one for Fast and Furious. The tracks show how I flew the mission, and how the "decent" menu is intended to work. Maybe looking at the tracks can help narrow down your problem. I can also send you .ogv movies of the two missions, but they are low-res and large files.   11. Hi, If hitting F7 really doesn't do anything at all, that must mean you don't have your keyboard commands set up properly. Does anything happen if you hit any other menu items in the communications menu? (like F10). I think as soon as "decent" appears in your menu, DCS world has created submenus for it. Normally you should see the option "smoke marker" or something like this (usually F3). If you hit this, the pickup group should mark its position. Once you landed within 200m of the pickup group, a new submenu should appear, allowing the group to embark on your chopper.

  14. Hi Yurgon, Thanks for the feedback. I will take a look at this tonight. IIRC I actually have a holding loop in the mission that should make the Gunship wait for you, but maybe it doesn't work as intended...

  16. Hi, Yes that's possible. What I do is simply load the mission into the mission editor (navigating to the directory that contains the campaign file plus all the individual mission files), and then press the fly button. Also, please note that the qual flight mission had some bugs in it, use the revised version I attached to the posting just prior to your post.
  17. No, the sling load you drop will fall through the ship, but in the mission that counts as having successfully delivered it to the ship...
  18. Hi Nick, Thanks for the feedback. I made the changes to the first mission you recommend (attached). Also, I played through missions 1 through 3 myself tonight. In mission 2 I downsampled the sound file to reduce file size (attached). Mission 3 had several booboos in it. The new mission I attached should be more playable and have fewer bugs.   19. Real fast roping is currently not possible in DCS. Therefore I implemented it as an approximation as follows: you need to hover over the point where you want to fast rope your troops. Then every 2 seconds you are in a stable hover within 10 m of the drop point, one soldier will be dynamically created by the script at that location.

The second version is a result of me having flown through the whole campaign for the purpose of bug hunting. I hope I found eliminated most bugs, and didn't introduce any new ones:music_whistling: Changes include numerous bug fixes and adjustments I fleshed out story line a little additional mission messages help the player understand what his/her task is included mission screen shots in the briefing images Campaign includes: - simple weapons training - employing Huey as fire fighter - flight qualification test - troop insertion by fast rope technique - low visibility flying - dropping sling load on speeding ship - airmobile assault mission - CSAR mission - strafing of a truck convoy - inserting MANPADs unit into strategic front line location - complex final mission How to install. Unzip file into the same file location as Belsimtek's UN pilot campaign (on my computer "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Uh-1H\Missions\EN\Campaigns"). Then you should be able to fly the campaign the same way as you fly the UN pilot campaign.

  23. Hi, I have the following question. If I add a FARP to my helicopter missions, I cannot communicate with the FARP's ATC on its assigned radio frequency. In addition, the log file says "00022.249 WARNING FLIGHT: HELIPAD + FARP London has no ATC communicator!". How do I equip a FARP with an ATC communicator?
  24. No problem Cibit. Looking forward to playing the mission tonight. I have a question regarding the embarking features. Have those been documented yet? Just playing around I have gotten them to work, but only if I set up the necessary tasks in the mission editor waypoint advanced options. However, if I set up the exact same tasks as a triggered action that is called some time after mission start, the troops wonder off into no-man's land instead of walking towards the chopper. So I guess my question is: has anyone gotten the embarking/disembarking feature to work as a triggered action? Another question: what is "embark to group"?
