Sure did, I would like a .trk file from someone if possible so I can choose my own POV from within DCS

I've started having thoughts about upgrading my gfx card to maybe the 7870. I get about average 35 fps right now with 5770, which I'm ok with - just wondering how much diff the upgrade would make?

Please can any of you guys that find it easy to defeat the AI post a regular trk so I can see how it's done? All I offer in return is my gratitude :)

only time I took the AI out, was when we collided and I took his wing off. Otherwise, he gets me everytime or I crash into the ground due to some mishap. I have noticed adding a bit of flap helps, but there must be a trade off.

Is there an optimum rpm for dogfighting?

At Last!! I got that AI sucker in the 1v1 instant action dogfight! :D Starting to get the hang of this bird now...

Can anyone comment on the FPS drop I'm getting when firing guns? I now notice on the instant action dogfight it goes down to about 20 fps from about 40+

after reading some of the advice on other threads, I managed to survive the whole mission without blowing the engine. Basically, I kept the throttle back to keep MP in the green always and left rpm around 2700, just changing rpm to around 1800 when in the dive, and going back up to 2700 to climb out. If the oil temp rises, then I just opened the rad oil doors with lalt+s. If my assumption is right, then the throttle only needs slight adjustment to maintain the desired rpm when speed starts to drop off

You mean the aesthetics or the FPS drop? :smilewink: I guess I'm not alone with the latter...

ok, so I just went into the instant action ground attack instead of training mission, and seizure occurs after 1st pass of the BTRs. Track attached. engine seizure.trk

I don't get the option for it when the mission quits, there's no summary screen like when on a mission. Must be different for training.

I've tried the ground attack training mission about 5 times, but I never get to complete it because I experience what I believe is an engine seizure - the prop just stops dead. I figured this is due to engine overheat maybe, so tried again this time keeping my eye on the temp needle. During climb out with the power on, it creeps out the green zone up toward the red line. So I ease back, to bring the needle back toward the green, but it still seizes.

I notice a drop in FPS <25 when firing the guns. My guess it's the smoke effect causing my rig some issues. Is there a way to adjust the smoke effect? I don't see anything in options.

Just got DCS P-51 today, and just while flying about pulling some g I managed to rip the wings off. A couple of times. Ooops. Can I draw the conclusion, there's a limit on g so I should be watching the meter a bit closer?
