  1. Wow Yurgon, thanks! And well done for getting it completed!!
  2. I have been using the JTAC but not found much use after the 1st targets, the next ones come up too soon - you cannot really orbit or loiter while keeping a distance before JTAC comm is complete. Normally I would orbit a safe distance with enough altitude to acquire the targets with TGP. At such low alt the TGP is useless. Please do try the JTAC and see how you find it.
  3. Thanks, those are exactly the kind of guides I was looking for!! Is there one for In the Weeds though?
  4. I'm struggling to find if anyone has made tutorials for the bundled single player missions - Hideout, In the Weeds, etc. For example, I haven't been able to complete In the Weeds mission as I haven't worked out the best tactics. If I pop up, I get engaged by SA-11. If I stay low, there's not much time to find & engage all the targets at each waypoint and I take hits from cannons as I pass over. Wingy is a dead loss. I have completed Camp Yankee and Hideout but I'm not sure my tactics were exactly what Hog drivers would really do, so just looking for some basic guides. Cheers!
  5. well I can say that I bought some basic anti slip mat from B&Q (DIY store chain in UK) http://www.diy.com/nav/decor/flooring/rugs-mats/anti_slip_mats/Anti-Slip-Mat-Black-12217529?skuId=12748235 and 2 cut-to-size layers underneath the throttle have done the trick on my Ikea desk! No slip when lifting throttles over the detent. Very pleased :)
  6. Interesting, thanks. Maybe a grippier surface than my desk is all the pathetic grips pads under the WH need. When the throttles get lifted, those pads do nothing!
  7. I use the AB detent on my TM Warthog HOTAS for the FC3 jets, but lifting the throttles over the stop tends to cause the throttle unit to slide as a certain amount of lift force is required. In the heat of a dogfight, it can slide an inch or so! I don't want to screw it to my nice desk, so was wondering about suction cups. I stumbled across these little beauties on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUCTION-CUP-FEET-For-Tattoo-Power-Supplies-Spare-Parts-Price-Per-1-Foot-/231012246628?pt=Fashion_Jewelry&hash=item35c9672464 They seem to be ideal - has anyone got any experience or comment? Or an alternative I can by in a store in UK? Thanks - Ratfink
  8. Merry Christmas to you all from Happy Hertfordshire!
  9. Sometimes I will fly FC3 Instant Actions in say F-15 to 'get back in the saddle' if I've been away a while. If I get shot down (regularly) I will use Ralt-J to jump into the next plane. I've noticed that after jumping in, the radar and weapon selection doesn't seem to work properly. Like, in BVR mode (2) I cannot enable radar (I). Has anyone else noticed similar?
  10. Jumpin' for joy here!! Thanks
  11. I'm thinking to update my X-52 Pro sometime, but looking for something more 'general' than the Warthog for other planes and other sims (Falcon BMS, Cliffs of Dover for example). I like the X-52 because it is not dedicated for just one plane, and seems to work well with all. Just my one is starting to feel worn out!
  12. Solved!! OK, so it seems to command wingy with easy comms I must hit the UHF mic switch - then wing/flight commands are white text and he obeys. On my X-52 Pro I had the throttle hat set to only provide VHF AM/FM only.
  13. SnapViews / Default Zoom = Rocket Science!?. I find this snapview and zoom thing for each aircraft very complicated, fiddly, and tricky to apply. Personally, I don't believe it's something that should require lua file edits to make it work to your liking. It should be done through options settings. For simpletons like me, I'd like to see some sliders or FOV limit in options
  14. I can't seem to communicate properly with my AI wingy in SP mode missions in 1.2.6. I have radio assists and easy comms mode on (I like to keep things simple) and when sending commands via radio menu, I get no reply and the text in the menu stays black - I'm sure it used to change white after 'auto tuning' in prev versions. I must admit it's been a while since I last played A-10C (maybe pre 1.2.5) so perhaps if I'm missing something, but I thought easy mode and radio assists were idiot proof :)
  15. Just wondering, what files/folders should be backed up in case I need to reinstall or recover from a HDD fail? Is it just the contents of C:\Users\..\Saved Games\DCS? Or anything as well from C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\...
  16. OK, so it seems that I have now saved a nice new default for the F-15C. But having the save snap view option checked, screws up my A-10C. I have set a default view for the A-10C, but when panning with TIR it looks like a fish-eye lens effect - the seat seems far away and all views other than directly forward look unrealistic
  17. Sorry been away for a while, I meant by jiggle the camera again that everything was back to how it was and I had to move camera position down, forward and zoom out. It's like the save action was only applying for that play session, and original default restored on restart. I had unchecked the snap view save, because it screwed my Warthog view. Now I see why. I will keep trying different things, and will check the box and reset for Hog and see what I get. All this seems a bit awkward and complicated
  18. I lost all my USB devices plugged into rear ports with my Asus board (see sig) after 8.1 upgrade. Had to uninstall USB 3.0 boost from AI Suite II to get them back
  19. The RAlt+Num0 works to save default in current flight, but when starting another flight it's all back to square one and I have to jiggle the camera again :(
  20. Thanks MadDog, that makes better sense! Will check that out later
  21. I did all the up/down/l/r stuff and rctrl+num0 but when starting next game, it hadn't saved my view - hitting rctrl+num0 just makes it zoom into a fixed view, with no function trackir until I hit it again :(
  22. I upgraded to 8.1 without having to create an MS account. At the "login with MS account" or create one stage, I hit something like "I don't have an account" and hit next. It gave me an option something like "use existing account" and carried on. It must have meant existing user account on the machine, and it works just like normal. I did it the other day, so can't exactly remember the words used, but I don't have, nor intend to have, an MS account. Still needs Classic Shell....
  23. So it's positive for GE then. I always hated updating on my last few rigs
  24. Thanks Joey45, is that using or not using the Experience tool?
  25. The Geforce experience looks interesting. Does it update drivers reliably? My last Nvidia rig was a while ago, and it was always a trauma updating drivers and not having problems afterwards meaning a driver sweep! My last AMD Radeon was even worse!!
