I had 2 crashes today, but cannot see .CRASH files - where should the be? I looked in Users\..\Saved Games\DCS\Logs only ones from ages ago are there, none from today. BTW my dcs.log looks similar to flamin squirrel's

What's the recommended method these days for updating Nvidia drivers? I haven't done it yet since owning this rig, and my last was AMD. Currently running 310.90

hmm, just tried and had 2 good landings and 2 crippled gear. Had 2 game crashes too, one during mission load and another at mission end. Just using Instant Action F-15 intercept. Strange.
-
I've been out the loop a while, has the F-15 landing bug been fixed yet? You know, the one where your gear sinks into the runway!

Thanks guys. Yes I downloaded the 109 when it first came out, just to have something else to shoot at of the same era! I appreciate the 50 cal is less than the 20mm, but I've got 6 of them!

Please take a look at the attached track - it's from a small practice mission I made to go 1 v 2 against AI FW190 and ME109. Despite hitting the FW190 several times, I don't seem to able to cause it significant damage. If you look at the 190 in F2 view, I riddle it all over, but it keeps flying and even has the cheek to turn on nav lights, and land. Yet when they hit me, my wings get blown off after a quick burst!! (please disregard the way the track ends!! my engine seized and my emergency landing did not go well!) fw190 wont die.trk

IIRC, the auto-updater for DCS World was not always there - can't remember for sure (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) but it came in at a certain version, likely to be 1.2.1 or 1.2.2 if you don't have it already with 1.2.0. I agree with the other posters, uninstall what you have and download & install latest DCS W and modules. I also use Classic Shell for Win 8 and it's just like having Win 7

All DCS asked for reactivation - none required
Ratfink replied to Ratfink's topic in Payment and Activation
Thanks Etherealn, but I have made no changes to the system other than Windows updates. I'm sure it's no problem, just a bit annoying -
All DCS asked for reactivation - none required
Ratfink replied to Ratfink's topic in Payment and Activation
Thanks TimeKilla, I checked just the A-10C activation at http://proactive.star-force.com/2.0/activate.php That confirmed that no activation was used. -
All have A-10C, BS2, P-51, FC3, currently at version 1.2.4.12913 and activated some time ago. I had a couple of quick missions with P-51, and after about the third the messages popped up saying that each module (in turn) needs activation. So I clicked 'activate' and it said that the product(s) were already activated. Has anyone else had this?

iControl DCS (Another iPad pit)
Ratfink replied to boarder2's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I just recently got an iPad mini, and am interested in trying icontroldcs with it. I've read this entire thread, and I'm confused about a few things that I'd like to understand before I go ahead. Will it work with DCS world 1.2.4? I have win 8 and GTX670, so if I understand correctly I can create a second 'virtual' display just by simply entering screen resolution setting (right click desktop) and adding the second screen. I've looked at this but got a bit confused by the options. Is there a step by step guide to this? Will it affect my other DCS modules, like will I need to mess about with monitor set ups or full screen mode when reverting back to say P51 or Fc3? -

Classic shell here too, but I'd rather Win 8 has it as an option now it looks like my prayers are answered :)

Possible dead H60 pump stos DCS play
Ratfink replied to Ratfink's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I reckon it was a conflict with CPUID I had running at same time. Since I rebooted, with just Asus monitor on it ran for 2.5 hrs fine. I managed 1 hr of A-10C instant action, board temp never went over 35 degC -

Seems that maybe as I had CPUID running, this may have caused bogus reading in Asus Suite II - read elsewhere this can happen, and Asus Suite is buggy - can anyone verify? -
Possible dead H60 pump stos DCS play
Ratfink replied to Ratfink's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
System up and running for about an hour, the Asus Suite alerts the Motherboard temp is 127 deg!! Last time I looked it was about 30. CPU temp at this point 32 deg. Can I assume bogus reading? As the alert is set to 60 deg, it triggered at 127. Rebooted and mobo at 30 deg -
Possible dead H60 pump stos DCS play

RMA replacement arrived today - slightly different looking than the last H60 (this one's more square) but it's in and working. So will back in the DCS sky after I've eaten my dinner :) -

Possible dead H60 pump stos DCS play
Ratfink replied to Ratfink's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It had shut itself down the first time, and Asus AI Suite II Monitor kicks up a warning at 70 deg. I powered up and went straight to monitor, and it goes from 50 to 70 in just a few minutes with no other apps running. I tried listening for a pump sound, but could only hear fans. -
My PC started complaining about CPU temp whilst idle, and I have come to the conclusion it must be a dead pump on the Corsair H60 cooler. The fan on the rad is OK, but I cannot really tell if the pump is working. Bios has the fan speed for the pump as "N/A", while Asus AI Suite II says "0 rpm". I moved it from the Chassis Fan 3 connector to the one labelled "CPU_OPT" and it made no difference - Asus AI shows 0 rpm, and CPU temp rapidly rising. I also felt the pipes, both cold. Should one be slightly warm if all's working well? Had the rig for about 3 months. Have requested an RMA from the OEM anyway, I'm pretty sure it's dead but would be interested to know if there's any other checks I can do.

Great, thanks EtherealN  I took no action at all, I wanted to wait to see how things pan out so I take it I can forget all about it? There seems to be no transaction in my cart, like the email said there would be, so I assume the answer is 'yes'
