Fly-by-wire (FBW) can cause people some trouble. There is a big difference between military and civilian FBW aircraft. An A320 is not unstable, airworthiness regulations require all civilian aircraft to possess positive longitudinal static stability, this is where the difference comes in. An F-16 or F-18E are unstable. In these aircraft the center of gravity (CoG) is behind the neutral point and the elevator angle/stick force required for a given manoeuvre becomes smaller, making the jet more agile, requiring computers to keep them in the air. Now comparing this to an civilian jet. The CoG is in-front of the neutral point(aircraft is stable). The FBW on this type is only a means of control, it could so easily be old fashioned cables and pulleys it would still fly no problem. The control laws are the only thing that makes a difference. I just wrote this because I feel there can be confusion when the word FBW is thrown around. Flying will fell the same because it is.

You still must select two bombs. Are you selecting 1 bomb from DSMS then going into it's profile and selecting pairs?
-
No, electrical power on, engines on then your good to go!

I think what you are referring to as auto land is actually the "route following" mode of the auto pilot. This is why it changes altitude. In the mission each waypoint has an altitude assigned to it. The altitude of the landing waypoint is 0. I believe this is why your flying into the ground at the airfield.

It should have a much longer, slimmer nose.

I was conducting some testing just above the stall with gear down and flaps 30 degrees, trimmed level. The aircraft was quite sluggish as you would expect, it took time to roll and quite a bit of stick deflection. However pitching took no effort at all. The slightest bit of back pressure and the aircraft went up to 5 degrees in no time at all. The same for pitching down. Is this how the P-51 handles at low speed? seems odd to me.

Personally, i'm really looking forward to this, delighted to hear this news. I felt the only thing missing for the original was fixed wing aircraft! I would have been happy with just CAS platforms but EW too!! :D

That would have been the smart thing to do!

HI all. I just wanted to ask what do others prefer when it comes to MFD text colour. I like the black with green text. Like the A-10, F-18C or F-15C. While the other i'v seen is the white on black text, like Av-8B II or F-18E, newer block F-16's. I don't like the white on black, not sure why just don't. Anybody else have one that they like more?

I'm pretty sure pilots in WW2 used dead reckoning as the main means of navigation. The range of homing radios wouldn't have been very far, certainly not far enough to navigate from Germany to England. It would also have required them to be placed all over mainland Europe to make them effective, much like VOR today. No aircraft IFF systems are modeled in the simulation.

Ya i didn't think anybody else noticed this but me, it seems to close incrementally now. Sometimes i get a click when the canopy closes, sometimes no sounds.

Yup that helps big time Wichid! Thank you.

Hi, Is is possible to cancel/ignore a trigger zone once an objective has been achieved. Say for instance if a unit is killed then a trigger zone will not have any effect on the mission once that happens?
-
Ya i'v employed them already, 1 pass multiple targets. I am trying to use the same method with LGB.
-
Cheers GGTharos, I knew it was possible, more of just trying to get it to work than anything to do with tactical use.
-
That's the thing, I'm trying to delay the release so that when the first hits, I can slew to the second target. I want to set the first to ballistic and the second to optimal release point.
-
I am trying to drop 2 LGB's on different targets in one pass.

Hi, I have set up two different profiles for two separate GPU-12's. I want to drop the two bombs together 1 after the other. I am able to create the two and cycle through them but am at an end trying to actually put the profiles onto two different bombs. How would I add the profiles I made to the GUB-12's in the DSMS? I am only able to give 1 profile to all the bombs not two individual profiles to two bombs of the same family.

I'v searched the forums but haven't found a tread that asks the question. Are there plans to include hot pit refueling and rearming for the SU-25T? Forgive me if it's been asked already.

"Blackout" is caused by excessive positive (+ve) "G", the blood rushes away from the head and you begin to loose colour vision then vision, finally becoming unconscious. "Red out" is caused by excessive negative (-ve) "G", the blood rushes to your head and causes the blood vessels in your eyes to enlarge, resulting in seeing only red. In a rollercoaster, +ve "G" is felt on the inside of a loop and negative is felt on the outside of a loop to give you a simple idea. A centrifuge can only simulate positive +ve "G".

HI, I'v just finished making a mission with Gelendzhik as the base. Parking spots 11, 12 and 13 are being used. In a single player test with cpu pilots the aircraft spawn in their individual spots, but in multiplayer with clients the aircraft spawn onto each other and crash. It seems they only spawn in spot 11, no matter which aircraft you join in. I'v attached a pic from single player test.

To be able to change missile/bomb course after launch/pickle there must exist some means of communication between the weapon and the aircraft. A command wire like on the TOW. A laser like the vikhr and LGB's.
