  1. Unfortunately Druid it's not just a single mission. It occurs in seemingly every mission I try. Sometimes a group will stick around and fight other times they fire their standoff weapons then leave. Another issue I found today was when I have an AWACS with fighter escort, the lead will engage a threat but the wingman RTB's? Every single time. Here's an example of both issues. The engagement range doesn't seem to be being adhered to. The bogies get well inside the range before the escorts react. TESTING.miz
  2. I believe what you are looking for is the "Orbit" command. It's in the user's manual on pages 156, 157. You can set the units as static objects. A tank will then just be like a building. Hope this helps you.
  3. I have set the duration to anything from 15 minutes to 2 hours, but after a little while they break off the attack. The air units still have weapons and they're still ground units left.
  4. I suspect a bug, I followed what I used to do previously but it didn't work.
  5. I don't want them to be rambo by any means, going in guns blazing, I want them to use their ordnance up and then leave the AO. But they only fire a missile or two then head for home. I trying to get them to attack a moving convoy, with mild air defence, SA-9. My aircraft approach the convoy take out the air defence then head for home. Same result no matter what aircraft type it seems. Their task in CAS, I set them to perform task, attack group (Convoy). I'm making them attack
  6. Hi, Can somebody please help me on how I can make my Ai aggressive, as if they are actually defending/attacking a position with great aggression and determination to complete their objective. A couple of things. 1). If one of the units is attacked and jettisons their loadout, but the wingman has a full payload they both RTB. Is it possible for the empty jet to loiter while the jet with munitions will still carry out the mission? 2). My Ai units seem very passive, they fire off a couple of weapons, then RTB. e.g. an Apache fired off it's Hellfires, then left the AO still with full rockets and gun. The enemy still had units. In another instance a hind fired two of it's six missiles and then just headed back to base, with a large amount of enemy left. Thanks.
  7. Thanks Grimes
  8. Here it is. Escort.miz
  9. As the title says, I'm having great difficulty getting this feature to work as I want. I have set up an AWACS with fighter escort. I set the engagement distance to 20 miles. But as soon as the fighters take off they immediately set off to engage enemy aircraft even transport helicopters, that are 80 miles away from them and the AWACS! Any help on how to tame the escorts to actually escorting and not doing interception of aircraft that are no threat to the AWACS would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
  10. Here you go :) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=95606
  11. Can you report this issue please Eddie?
  12. Thats an F-16, which of course can because it's got a single piece, non-folding wing.
  13. It was originally discovered by an Nvidia user on the same server
  14. It's possible to add the Aim-120 to the wingtip of an F/A-18C in the sim. This I believe is not possible in RL due to wing folding/weight limits. I'v never seen this in real life and pretty sure it's impossible.
  15. I just wast to report that having fog in a mission is causing objects to appear white and cartoonish. Can't find it reported before. Hope this pics helps show the effect.
  16. I just came on to report this exact issue, I can't start the sim now!
  17. Thanks for explaining this whartsell, I was flying the approach as you describe up until 026 where I then followed the VOR. Have you any idea of why the VOR became active? I tried to add to the rep, but forgot that it's not possible in chit-chat, sorry.
  18. This is the approach I was flying, I tracked the crk VOR until 8 miles DME then turned right to heading 163 degrees. I flew the arc until I reached the bearing of 026, the VOR indicator then comes alive and I follow it down to land, I now realize that I may have been doing this completely wrong! The only things tuned in are DME and NDB, but VOR needle activates. http://www.flywaterford.com/images/eiwfad2.24-6%20NDB03.pdf
  19. I set the VOR 2 to the DME of the airport. When I fly the arc the needle then comes "alive" when I cross the runway off to my wing. I have flow like this before without problems, I use the ADF to fly the arc then swith to track the VOR 2 needle(set to the DME frequency) when I am abeam the runway heading. There is no VOR at the particular airport, only DME and NDB.
  20. This is a technical question that i'd like an answer to please. I often practice IFR flying in other sims. Today I was practicing an NDB DME approach to a local airport. I picked up the 026 degree approach and tracked it in. This is where i'm confused. I drifted off to the left a bit so i flew towards the needle to the right. However the tracking got worse. I actually had to fly away from the needle to correct the approach. If the needle was to the left I had to fly to the right to correct. I'v never seen this before and the approach was really messy because I kept flying to the needle as i'm used to. Can anybody please shed any light on what/why this happened? Why was the tracking reversed basically. This is the VOR indicator I was using.
  21. Thanks for the reply's i'll check it out!
  22. Hi all, I'm looking for a simulation of a GPS system in the same standard as DCS. I realise that I have to look at FSX/ X-Plane for this. From my research it seems that Carenado have done some GPS stuff included in their aircraft. Also flight 1 have a T182T GPS add-on. I believe milviz also have a GPS in their C310R. I'd like peoples opinions on what is the most advanced/lifelike GPS equipped aircraft add-on that currently exists. Thanks
  23. Is it feasible to do both? Having an option to chose the one you like best yourself.
  24. Yes correct wind in aviation is always given from. Some airports only have one runway to take off from, because of terrain etc.
  25. Ok first thing to do is un-install DCS World. Leave blackshark alone as you'll need it to activate the BS2 upgrade version. Then install DCS World version 1.2.1 http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?ProductId=21&end_pos=137&scr=product&lang=en Finally install the upgrade version of Black Shark http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=13&end_pos=136&lang=en If you don't have BS1 and bought BS2 then install this instead. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=12&end_pos=136&lang=en
