I fully agree Crab, it would be the right time to add someone with a deeper understanding of English to the company or maybe we have a member here that speaks Chinese. And WinWing... your English is 1000 times better than my Chinese!!! 你的英语比我的中文好1000倍!or 你的英语比我的中文好1000倍!thank you Google translate :) I work in the US for a Dutch company and I moved here 21 years ago. I have seen big and costly R&D mistakes because the Dutch marketing and R&D people did not understand the small details or nuances expressed in English. We all want your product to be a success.

Yes same here, if it does not recenter correctly I use my recenter VR I have mapped and I am good again.

great to hear this Los, your description is exactly what I hoped for. Just to make sure I understand, the part that goes on the HMD is connected to the PC with a USB cable? I had not noticed that in the videos but it makes complete sense. I can't wait but I know I have to with the Odyssey+.- 3421 replies

Question on VR for an one eyed pilot
DutchCoolHand replied to DutchCoolHand's topic in Virtual Reality
Thanks, everyone! Last night I did a long flight as number 2 so that I can get more used to formation flying and seeing the changes and respond to them. One thing I notice is that I never have the right trim. I know that in the F14 you have to trim constantly but if I make no change to power or stick input or trim the plane should stabilize. At least that is what they do in real life. What I see is that I can't get the plane trimmed, it requires one click of trim up let's say, which should level it and immediately the nose up stronger. so let's add 2 clicks down to stop the nose from going down. I know that IRL you put the nose on the horizon and see what the plane does and use trim to correct it. but in the F14 I can't seem to get it right. I bring up the controls view and I can see the inputs. nothing strange there. -
[RESOLVED] DCS Crashing While Flying F14
DutchCoolHand replied to TexasBread's topic in Bugs and Problems
I see CTD's without any crash logs. that is I don't see any. It happens in flights where you are in a dogfight. It happens every time I fly the Alert 5 mission. Yet I have just flown for 80 minutes following my flight lead as practice for formation flying and no problem at all. -
Question on VR for an one eyed pilot
DutchCoolHand replied to DutchCoolHand's topic in Virtual Reality
Thank you Arturo. I was just wondering. I am quite used to it in real life when I fly. I will keep practising. -
As I have mentioned here before I am 85% blind in my left eye. I have been practicing AAR a lot and with all the tips I am able to approach nice and stable but I can't get on the basket. I wonder if I have an additional handicap. when flying using VR I think there is more depth perception than when using a monitor. I think that I have a harder time to connect because of having wrong depth perception. If I watch Jabbbers video on AAR with the F14 he states he puts the heading caret on the refueling pod. In my case, if I do that I am off not close to the basket. Could this be because i only see one projection and am off because of it? I am not an expert on how VR works when it comes to projection. Does anyone have a better understanding? Thanks

Here are the pictures for the Odyssey+ Miles. I have added some comments if you might need more information let me know. I can't do as many measurements as everything is curved. Peter Odyssey+.zip- 3421 replies

Can I ask the group what the image on the right represents? Flight envelope?

As I picked up the A-10C again in November I started adjusting the controls and saving them with a file name that represented the plane. Then when I added the F18 I saved it as such and then recently the F14. Yesterday I installed an M.2 drive and loaded it with windows and the Openbeta version of DCS. I had my saved control configuration files so no problem I thought and copied them to the new Saved Games/Openbeta directory. When starting DCS again and loading the files it did not contain my control settings. It is very easy to see as my MFD's have pitch, roll and rudder axis set. I have no idea why this happened and it takes a lot of time to get them right again. so a few questions: When you load a file does it merge or overwrite the exciting settings? I would expect overwrite but I see the axis defined on my MFD's and that is certain;y not what I saved. I realize now that I did not need to save them under a specific airplane name as all planes are listed in the upper left corner. Where should I place my saved config files so that DCS uses them. Or do I always have to load them? Edit: I just looked in the profile lua file and I dont see a full listing of all the commands, it seems to only show changes I have made. Thanks

So that is why you keep getting the window. I dont know hpw to change it. but I can send you my fie. It is in the DCS .openbeta directory under Saved Games. Take note of the values that work for you and copy them into the file attached as it currently has my values. Lets see if this works. Samsung Windows Mixed Reality 800ZBA.lua

I see that, did you find the file I referenced? I cant check the directory as I am doing an install at the moment to my new M.2 SSD. I would post this in the bug section.

Great, it is my pleasure I was able to help you. I am not an expert but saw the similarity with the problem I had. Peter

F18 HOTAS (continue update)
DutchCoolHand replied to WINWING's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I agree, I liked the 2 videos, it shows it is real. I was surprised by the size of the throttle box. The stick also looks very large -
Just asking the obvious question, you have opened the 10308 port for TCP & UDP on your router? can you connect to your second PC? I had the same problem as my friend could not connect. I did have the port open on my router but for my main PC, not the server PC. You can only open a port to one device at a time. As I had used my main PC as a server before I thought I was good but it did not work as I had to change it to my second PC.

same here, I think it is a close as clicking the switches for real. I have a lot of functions now setup with Viacom but it is not the same. I love the F14 with all the switches in the RIO cockpit- 3421 replies

The half-life of Cesium??? I have not heard that often used a measure of time. I hope it is more the half-life of Ir192 :) -
Yes, that should do it. in the meantime I have upgraded to an RTX2070, the 2080 was just too steep in price. I also upgraded my power supply because of the new GPU. As I am typing this I remember why I stopped playing games on PC several years ago.... the constant battle of upgrading it. I stopped flying sims like DCS and played a lot of Battlefield and Call of Duty using an Xbox. When I upgraded my CPU in September I was not thinking of DCS because I would have gotten an Intel CPU. The 3700 will come out in July from what I can find.

Click the Save and close red button. This should save a Samsung-Odysseyxxxx.lua file in your config directory. The existence of that file prevents the window from popping up again. Do I understand you correctly that still comes back?

That seems the correct behaviour from the buttons. Have you done the voice training?

I have heard it several times but not since the hotfix. I have it selected in the options but it seems to be off. Looking at the Jester menu it is turned on but I hear nothing
