I first copy 2.5.17 in the voiceattack/app folder, started the software, it did not auto upgrade. copied 2.5.18 back in and still the same issue. I did discover that after 1 crash and see another airplane it works fine. like badger said when you are in the cockpit it does not.

How did re-upgrade? I have the same issue and this morning it updated to 2.5.18 but still the same and I have the OB path and button enter and selected.

You need PointControl, it is great for flying in VR, I actually use my voice commands less because it is easy to click a button https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=218861

Incorrect “depth perception” in VR with only one eye
DutchCoolHand replied to DutchCoolHand's topic in Virtual Reality
Great news and I have to thank Bob here, I was able to connect and stay on. Your tip of keeping the pod between top of hud and canopy helped.in the past I did not think I could get that close and be fine. I first changed the S3 to a KC130 as it is a bit more stable. I forgot to change the speed so I came in at 325 while the C130 was at 250. So I hit the speed brake and then forget to close it. But it seemed that the plane was more stable. So switched it back to the S3 and tried the same, with the speed brake out it seems to respond a bit slower. Was able to connect again and stay on. Then tried it again without the speed brake and I think it helped me get better to make small movements. I also turned down the friction on the TM throttle all the way. It feels great as this was one of my personal goals I had to accomplish before I would go fly online. Peter -
Incorrect “depth perception” in VR with only one eye
DutchCoolHand replied to DutchCoolHand's topic in Virtual Reality
Yes, Bob, I try not to look but it seems if I shift left or right exactly at the last moment. I think i do n't always sit in the exact same position. Let me explain. For 6 months I have this strange problem in the Hornet where when I enter the cockpit basically sit on the left panel. And no matter how I try I can't move my position using the keyboard. so I offset myself to left and press recenter and I am in the right position. Or almost the same position. -
Incorrect “depth perception” in VR with only one eye
DutchCoolHand replied to DutchCoolHand's topic in Virtual Reality
Fri13, thanks for the information, I have been blind in my left eye for 45 years, I am used to it and usually don't have a major issue with depth perception. ok, I don't like playing ping pong. I think there is something in what you are saying. -
Incorrect “depth perception” in VR with only one eye
DutchCoolHand posted a topic in Virtual Reality
Good evening gents and ladies I am sure, I have been flying in VR for about 14 months and I have been always partially blind in my left eye. But in the last 6 months my blindness has gone worse (glaucoma) and I now really only see through the right screen in my Rift S headset. One of my main goals is to be able to do air to air refueling, I have practiced that more than anything else. One of my issues I felt was that my Thrustmaster was too stiff, could not make small adjustments. I got different springs but still no joy. So I am the happy owner of a virpil WarBRD base. What a difference!!!! I can hook up now relatively easy, staying connected is another problem. But what I notice is that when I approach the hose and close it seems to “move” and I wonder if I see the hose in a different place then it is. As I only see one screen is the depth perception off. I don’t know how the 2 screens built the joined image. Are 2 screens an exact copy? Just curious Peter -
PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller
DutchCoolHand replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for the explanation Miles. Will you be on Discord tonight (Thursday) I flew last night and both my controllers went haywire. When lifting my left hand the cursor showed up on the right side of the screen. And when I move it I can't get it to the center of the screen. I loaded the new firmware and started the voice-guided setup and I could get it to work right. when I started DCS it did not show through to the setup program in the black rectangle. I hope you are there Peter- 3421 replies

Miles, I know you have said it before somewhere in these 2200+ messages but what are these additional button used for? Can they be bound to a key? Peter- 3421 replies

Multiple grips and different airplanes

It has been a long time since I ran Target, what is the reasons you use it? It used be important as the sims did not have a good support for Hotas. -
How to know and track where a ground target is using CCIP?
DutchCoolHand replied to parxuk's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Thanks Rob, I did not fly DCS as much over the summer and then you start questioning yourself, did I forget how to do it? Peter -
ok I just the mission twice and attached the track files. something I noticed on the first flight that the HUD did not show AUTO, so I thought I did not select the mode correctly. I saw this a few miles out from the target. I reselected Auto several times. When I find my target I use TDC right to point track even if the targets don't move. I saw in Wags video he states to use TDC depress and that is when the auto solution is shown. Also, notice after my flights watching his video again that his HUD shows CCIP before he uses TDC depress. When I press TDC depress nothing happens. As you can see in the screenshot I have the depress modeled on the F18 grip and when clicking it in the controls screen it goes to the right line. As I thought I screwed up the mode selection on the first flight I did it again and with the same results. I have successfully used laser-guided bombs before. AG laser guided first try.trk AG laser guided second try.trk

I have the Warthog setup, stick and throttle and got the F18 stick. I fly the A10, F18, F14, F16 and just got the harrier. I am trying to understand the functionality of the controls page of DCS. - every plane has their own list right so switching between planes ensures you have the correct setup loaded. - if I change grips DCS sees this will load the saved setup for that grip with that airplane right? - can I hot swap grips, meaning change them while in DCS? Or should I exit unplug stick, change grips, plug it back in and restart DCS? I have a bombing practice mission where I put different planes on the tarmac so I can pick them as a slot, trying to figure out how I can switch from the F18 to A10 without getting out of DCS

Can anyone give tips on carrier take off
DutchCoolHand replied to Neil Gardner's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
There is a mod that puts a hashed red white line where to stop, you align your shoulder with it and your good. Google it I think I got it from the files section on ED. -
How to know and track where a ground target is using CCIP?
DutchCoolHand replied to parxuk's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
A related question, in the A10 you can slave your TGP to a waypoint, I thought I could do the same in the Hornet but could not figure out how to do it anymore. Reason I ask is I have a hard time finding targets with the TGP. I have a mission with a lot of targets in the desert on the Nevada map. I use it to practice AG delivery for all different weapons. As it is all dirt it hard to find landscape features to reference so I place a waypoint on it. Hence slave TGP to waypoint would be great. Thanks -
PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller
DutchCoolHand replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
After using PointCTRL for a week every evening :) I want to share an observation. When doing the calibration, the last step is a 5 point calibration where you put your hand out as far as you think it take to reach that point. Initially I would not stick my hand out that far but still could position the mouse over the button easily. In recent days I found that actually sticking my hand out further gives it a more realistic or natural feeling and is more accurate. I love these controllers Peter- 3421 replies

Thoughts on graphics card upgrade - RTX2070
DutchCoolHand replied to golani79's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Am I correct in saying that the performance depends on which VR headset you buy, I have an Odessey+ and a Rift S and have a 2070 and the performance is very good. Bit if I would switch to a Pima the performance would drop. So whichVR headset are you thinking about? -
I was going to say the Harrier too, I just got it yesterday and I have not landed yet :) but it is a much more complex plane than any other. I love flipping switches especially now that I have my PointControl devices but man there is a lot to remember.

I am sorry if anyone has already reported but I can’t find it here or on reddit. But for some reason I can’t get laser guides bombs to track the laser anymore. Yes, all have the same laser codes; 1688 for bombs and flir. Bombs set to auto, mfuz off, efuz inst trigger selected on flir screen, laser switch low right set in forward position. Pull trigger on stick and it goes from arm to tl/dr. I watched Wag’s video on it twice. Get the release que, bomb releases but does not track. I must be missing something. While trying to figure it out I stumbled another question. I find my first target, do everything and get the bomb line. Find another target, switch to point track, then depress right but never get the bomb line again. Sorry if this is something obvious.

PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller
DutchCoolHand replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Ok my report 1 day after receiving PointCTRL:pilotfly::thumbup::thumbup::cheer3nc::bounce::thumbsup: Ok, seriously it is amazing in many ways. First, of all, the support Miles and others provide. I had the pleasure of getting help from Miles this afternoon as I had a few issues and misunderstandings. - first, the FCU doesn't shine brightly because your eyes can't see IR light, but cameras can :megalol: I only saw these little red lights. I thought I did something wrong. Miles solved that problem in 2 seconds. - As I am blind in my left eye I think it threw the calibration off somewhat in the sense I see less on the left side in my VR view. Miles was great to help make sure I did the calibration correctly. I flew a couple of missions this evening and the difference is clear. I take off and during the first 30 seconds of my climb out, I already have most of my weapons and other systems configured. it is so easy to flip switches or go through DDI's. This adds such a major sense of immersion for me, it was what was missing. Thanks, Miles for a great product which will only get better. It has renewed my motivation to fly DCS. Peter- 3421 replies
