Hi, In the Museum Relic - F-86 campaign, I am getting stuck at Mission 11. This is just FYI, as I have read before that you can skip the mission if there is a bug or you can't complete the mission. I have now completed it 3 times, and even though it kept saying mission completed, I wanted to keep trying anyway to try and get more kills, and try a few different tactics. It's a really cool mission and one that lends itself to being repeated over and over for training purposes. I would love to use that mission with other aircraft too. It would be a good weapon training mission for the A-10. So anyway, I have received a result of 100 and the mission completed message several times, but each time I try to continue that mission just starts again. Cheers,

Hey Apache, Thanks for the reply. I replayed that mission a few times tonight, and I also noticed what you did with the some aircraft getting stuck on the taxiway. Once the F/A-18 and once the F-16. Both times they got stuck just near the last corner before the hold short point. The "Abort Takeoff" trick didn't seem to work this time. Another time the two F-15s got stuck about half way down the taxiway for no apparent reason. Then they disappeared, and the next minute they were on the runway and taking off :D . The main difference tonight though was that this time the F-16 just squeezed past the truck with no impact and no explosion. Last night I played through the mission about four times , and every time the collision and explosion happened, but tonight it was just a near miss every time. All good, I have just been taxiing around the stuck aircraft and continuing on, and then getting blown out of the sky by ground fire at the target :D. Good times! Cheers,

Hi, I am using the F-86 in the Museum relic campaign, and am up to Mission 11. I finally finished mission 10. :joystick: YAY!! I nominate that for mission of the year BTW. I just started mission 11 tonight and I'm not sure if there is a bug or if what I am seeing is part of the mission design. A picture says 1000 words, so, is this meant to happen? This happens very early on during my startup. I will try not to give anything away, but during the mission, if I follow orders and meet up with the A-10s etc, I seem to be behind the 8 ball, and get blown out of the sky. I arrive late to the party. One time I haphazardly flew off course and seemed to arrive on target at the time I should have to surprise the enemy and jump them, and still received the orders to do so, I was just in the right place at the right time, but I was not following the set mission plan, ie I did not wait for the A-10s. I am just wondering if something is not playing out right. I feel like I am cheating if I don't follow the plan, but I feel like I am behind schedule if I do. No biggie, it's enjoyable either way, and probably more of a challenge when I am being blown out of the sky. I'm just not sure if the mission has some sort of timing issue. Cheers,

Great job with the training missions, they are fantastic! I have almost finished them and am about to start the campaign. An aircraft is so much more enjoyable when you know what you're doing :) . Cheers,

Does a module have activations for each version of DCS
scotth6 replied to scotth6's topic in Payment and Activation
Well I have had to activate modules in different versions in the past. That is how I came to that conclusion. Are you telling me I shouldn't have had to do that? Then why are different versions all asking for a module to be activated? -
Hi, It seems to be that when a new module is purchased it needs to be activated in each version of DCS (1.5 beta, 1.5 stable, 2.0 Alpha). If a module has 10 activations, does this mean that it has 10 activations per version of DCS World, or does it use up 3 activations out of the 10 activating in to three versions of the sim? Cheers,

Thanks for the replies. It turned out to be a one time occurrence (touch wood). I just hit exit without entering anything, and then checked V1.5 beta and V2 Alpha sims and nothing happened during startup there. The next time I loaded V1.5 beta there was no message. A bit confusing, but no harm done. Cheers,

Hi, I just started DCS World V1.5 public/Stable and was asked to activate the Mirage 2000. Why has this happened all of a sudden? I have just had similar issues with the Mig-21 but there was a thread describing that issue, however I see no similar thread regarding the Mirage. I have had the Mirage since it was released and have had it activated since then. I have been going through the training missions over the past few days/week with no issues, yet today at startup of the sim I am asked for the serial. I would like to know what is going on before I re-enter my serial,as I have just used up several activations with the Mig-21 issue and I don't want to do the same with the Mirage. Thanks

Thanks mate! Cheers,

OK. Thanks for the response. Cheers,

OK I thought I had it sorted, but it appears I don't. 1/ I patched V1.5 beta before I knew anything about this Starforce problem. 2/ According to instructions in PDF and on this forum, I deactivated Mig-21 from V2 Alpha, tried to from V1.5 stable (but it said it was already deactivated) and from V1.5 beta by removing the entry in the registry. 3/ I then reactivated only in V1.5 beta and everything appeared OK. 4/ Today V2 Alpha was updated, and now even though I deactivated the Mig-21 I get the error message for the Mig-21 when V2 is starting. I get the same error message when I try to start V1.5 stable. Could someone please explain what I should do now? Limited activations are a ridiculous idea if we are going to have to go through these issues! So we got two extra activations; the ways it's going I will be using more than that. I have already used 2 and 1 deactivation. I will still also have to reactivate in V1.5 and 2.0.
-
Yeah, someone didn't really think this through. Why would I be searching through the Mig-21 forum for a solution to a problem that I don't have yet (ie before the 1.5 update). Now I have installed the 1.5 update and now I have this problem, so here I am on the Mig-21 forum learning about what I SHOULD have done before I installed the 1.5 update. To be fair I have now corrected the error with help from the good instructions provided quite easily. Cheers,

Just experienced a CTD
scotth6 replied to fulcrum_64th's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Hi Neal Very interesting, thanks for the info. I have often had issues trying to uninstall my display drivers before updating, with my last PC and my current one. I will give that Display Driver Uninstaller a go. Cheers, Scott -
Just experienced a CTD
scotth6 replied to fulcrum_64th's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Hi, I would like to just add my experience of two CTDs while using the Museum Relic campaign. Both CTDs seemed to occur after I had been changing views to watch other aircraft and weapons and then returned to my VC. Please see the following post for complete info. (Museum Relic Bug Reports - #26) https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3083648&postcount=26 The problem didn't occur when I stayed in my VC view, so I'm not sure if the view changes are related, but they seemed to be. FYI my system specs are as follows: Power Supply: - Hytec/Hipro Heavy Duty Low Noise 1650W Motherboard: - ASRock(Asus) Z77 PERFORMANCE 4xDDR3 PCI-E3.0 SATA3 USB3.0 7.1CH GBLAN Quad CrossFireX/SLI Processor (CPU): - Intel i7-2700K QUAD Core 8 Threads 3.5 GHz, OVERCLOCKED to 4.5Ghz Hyperthreading currently off CPU Cooling: - Noctua/Thermaltake Dual Fan Low Noise CPU Fan & Heatsink Graphics Card: - Asus Strix GEForce GTX980 DVD/CD Burner: - 1 x LG/SAMSUNG/LITEON DVD/CD Burner 24 Speed Hard Disk Drive: - 1 Terrabyte Seagate/Samsung SATA 3 HDD 2nd Hard Drive: - 1 Terrabyte Seagate/Samsung SATA 3 HDD 3rd Hard Drive: - 2 Terrabyte Seagate/Samsung SATA 3 HDD 4th Hard Drive: - 4 Terrabyte Seagate/Samsung SATA 3 HDD Memory: - 16.0 GB (2 x 8.0 GB) RAM (1333 - 1866? Hey, Love the campaign. Just reporting a CTD that has occurred twice now. I am using DCS Beta 1.5.6 and the Museum Relic F-86 Campaign. CTDs occurring in Mission 8.1 - The rail yard strike. I have had two CTDs during this mission. I will attach DCS logs and Windows event Viewer logs. I almost completed it the first time round, but stupidly flew in to the ground trying to tune my ADF on RTB (I knew it was going to happen too). On the second and third attempts I have got a CTD with Transport.dll. I think on both occasions I was watching the Tornadoes fire on the second SAM from different views (Outside Tornado View, Weapon view - missile) and then when I returned to my own VC view after a few seconds I got the CTD. Edit: I have now completed the mission. I just stayed in VC view and completed it with no issues. Not sure if changing views caused the CTDs, but it's possible. Cheers, DCS_1-5-6_Beta_MuseumRelic_8-1_CTD_EventViewer.txt DCS_1-5-6_Beta_Logs_180316.zip

I really like it so far. I have done the first two missions. I am curious about the first mission - are there multiple outcomes based on the dialogue, or is there only one set outcome to complete the mission? It is excellent anyway. The second is a challenge with that nasty surprise that shows up unannounced (I don't want to give anything away ;) ). Great job! I am looking forward to trying the rest of them.
-
Thanks! I thought that was the case, but am pretty "careful" about deleting anything. Cheers,

Would I be correct in assuming that any old stand alone module installers would now be obsolete? I am just wondering if I can delete them off my HDD. Cheers,

Mission 2 with Sabre, UH-60 crash on site
scotth6 replied to Redglyph's topic in The Museum Relic Campaign
Hi, Great campaign. I really appreciate a good story behind good missions and campaigns. I like pretty much all types of missions, but this is really enjoyable. I just wanted to note that I have this exact same issue with the Museum Relic Sabre campaign - mission 2. I am using DCS World 1.5.6.1938 beta. As described by the OP, two of the choppers just seemingly burst into flames, a little bit apart from each other. Maybe they rolled on takeoff? Anyway the mission was still completed, but damn it, why did those guys have to die ;) . BTW I was so happy to land at Sochi and see my two favourite bombers right next to each other. The B-1B and TU-22. Awesome! -
Yeah thanks for sharing. I have just started the Museum relic campaign and I really like these story driven campaigns and missions. I will give them a look. Cheers,

Mission 11 - Predator mission
scotth6 replied to scotth6's topic in Su-27 The Ultimate Argument Campaign
Thanks for the tips. I will start this campaign again now. Cheers, -
Nevermind. It's working again now after updating.

Hi, Using DCS World 1.5 beta, I tried to start the Base Defence mission (for Mig 15 Bis), which I have used many times in the past, but it fails almost instantly. I get a message saying "Element destroyed mission failed" or something similar as soon as the mission starts. I don't even get to start my jet. The mission then ends. Cheers,

Hey, I was using DCS World 1.5 beta for the Ultimate Argument campaign, which I was really enjoying. When I first started a while back I noticed that when I died in the campaign it was reset back to the first mission, and I thought that was fair enough. However last night, as I was frustrated with not being able to complete mission 11 as I couldn't even locate the Predator, I switched to have a go in the F-5E in Instant Action. I flew a few quick missions, and then once during the ground attack I dropped my bombs a bit too low and blew myself out of the sky, so my pilot from my profile died. When I went to continue on with the Ultimate Argument campaign today, I noticed it had reset again, obviously because my pilot in my profile had died. I do like the campaign, but it's a bit frustrating to have to go through all the missions I have just been flying over the past few weeks to get back to where I was. Cheers,
