I just started flying the Mig-21 again on my new PC, and in VR - WOW! What an awesome module. I can't wait to learn all the ins and outs properly and spend a lot of time in this jet. I am having a small issue with some of the training missions, in particular the radar and AA training missions. It's very minor, but things just don't seem to be lining up, literally. I have no control over the jet, so I assume the "computer" is flying the jet so I can concentrate on the radar and AA functions, but in each AA mission I can not get a radar lock and most of the time the enemy drone is not in line with me, so I will not get a lock. As I have no control there is nothing I can do to correct this. Has anyone else had these issues, or am I just doing something wrong? Cheers,

DCS World 1.5 some activations not being recognised
scotth6 posted a topic in Payment and Activation
HI, I recently purchased a new PC. Before uninstalling DCS World 1.5, 2.5 beta and 2.5 release on my previous PC I deactivated all modules which required manual deactivation. Now on my new PC I installed DCS World 2.5 beta last week and installed all modules apart from Normandy and WWII Assets Pack. I manually activated all modules which asked for it. Last night I installed DCS World 1.5, mainly so I can still fly the Hawk, but I liked 1.5 so I am installing everything I can in to that. I just installed everything, but now when I start 1.5 I am being asked to activate the Spitfire, Viggen, Mirage 2000, and the Gazelle. I don't understand why I am being asked to activate these because they are already activated for 2.5, and I have always been told that activations are only required once for all versions. I don't want to use another activation unnecessarily, so I would like to find out why this is occurring. Thanks. -
Hi, A very, very small issue, and not a problem at all really, but I just noticed a couple of misplaced static (or AI?) B-1Bs in the F-5E Instant Action mission, Cold and Dark, Nevada. This is in the latest version (2.5 Release). Cheers,

Ejected and landed player pilot is still controllable.

I have never noticed this before. I can look around in VR but never been able to move. there must be some setting which enables/disables it. I was just thinking about a week ago it would be a really cool feature. And now I know..... -
I quite often get the message "Sorry you cannot give reputation to this post", even when the post is not very old. I am trying to give positive reputation, and I haven't been able to for a long time. I don't use it very much either, just every now and then when someone helps me or some one else out. Cheers,

Hi, I did just finish this mission, but noticed a few things in the four goes I had at it. I did complete the mission twice before, but for some reason it wasn't recorded and I needed to redo the mission. DCS seemed to forget I did the mission at all, as there were no failed attempts recorded either (it did tell me mission complete on both occasions). Today I completed it and went straight on to the next mission to make sure it would progress this time, and it did. While on approach to Nellis, I contacted for inbound, and was told to go to alternate. There didn't seem to be an alternate specified in the briefing. I didn't know any other field frequencies, and I thought of landing at Creech, but couldn't find any info or frequency on the kneeboard. I ended up just landing and parking at Nellis anyway, and passed the mission, so this is just a note. As noted in a couple of other threads, during my ground attack, I contacted JTAC and went through the full procedure, and was cleared hot, but as soon as I released weapons JTAC was shouting "ABORT, ABORT, ABORT - you do not have permission" This happened each time I did the mission. During the successful run today, he actually shouted "Blue on Blue!" which of course had me concerned, even though I knew I was at the right location and hitting the right enemy (Artillery on the road). It was even stated in the 9-line that friendlies in proximity were not an issue. I checked the log at the end of the mission, and neither me or my wingman hit any friendlies. As I say I passed the mission, but there seems to be a bug with JTAC in Mission 3. Loving the campaign and 2.5, so thanks! Cheers,

I agree. I hadn't used this campaign much, but just started fresh with it after the 2.5 update. Great campaign, and the A-10C is awesome as always. Performance in 2.5 is excellent also. Cheers,

Same problem for me today. I started the update yesterday, but had to shut down the PC before it was finished. Today, I am getting stuck on "Preparing to Torrent Update. Have tried 3 times, around 20 minutes each try before terminating and starting again, but same issue. I guess it may be due to servers being overloaded? Cheers,

I would love to see the TU-22M3 in DCS World. That is a magnificent aircraft. Would also love to see a C-130, C-17, B-1B, and TU-160. The bigger aircraft, especially bombers, would require a different philosophy than single seaters, but hopefully we will see them one day.

Thanks Apache600 for this amazing campaign. It has taken me many months (not 24/7 thankfully :smilewink:), and many tries on several missions. The story really drags you in and immerses you even more in this world, and I really love seeing all those other aircraft involved in the missions. Towards the end of the campaign I was using Oculus VR again (I wasn't using it for a while when I started the campaign) and that just takes it to another level again. I finally just completed the campaign, and the last mission is really cool. Thanks again Apache600. I really hope you continue with more campaigns in the future. Cheers,

Agreed! I just finished the campaign, and now I'm looking forward to doing it again with the Mig-15.

Hi, Thanks for the reply Ramsay. I was going to check/change my settings, but I thought I would run the mission through before I did to rule things out before I changed anything. I thought I had my settings same as yours above, but I am yet to check since the update. Anyway, good news to report is it seems to have been a one off bug. Not sure what caused it (or them) but it seems good now. I just completed the mission and Chevy 1-1 did not stop on the taxiway and he was flying at normal speed. I have a hunch, although it shouldn't happen. When I first loaded that mission previously I messed up the initialisation while punching in the INS coordinates (Altitude can't be set to 26000 feet at WP4 for some reason and that's still happening). While mucking around with those altitudes I tried to reset the INS (which I haven't figured out how to do) and because I couldn't I quit the mission back to the Campaign menu and started again. Previously there was a bug that caused DCS World to CTD on exit if you ran more than one mission, so I'm wondering if DCS was just bugging out because I exited the mission and restarted. It shouldn't have, and I haven't seen that behaviour for a while, but it's just a hunch. Cheers,

Hi, I just updated to DCS World 1.5.7 today (release version) and upon continuing the campaign I found a few issues. Not sure if they are mission bugs or related to the update. In Mission 10 I ran through my pre start and start procedure then began to taxi. As my lead was approaching the last turn on to the last taxiway he stopped just before he made the turn. Now I figure I just got too close to him, so as I was just next to the E-3's large apron, I did a u-turn and taxied back a bit and then my lead continued. I just mention this in case it led to or was related to other bugs coming up. We then took off with 15 second separation. As I approached Chevy 1-1 I noticed he was going VERY slow. I braked but still flew past him. This is the first time a lead has flown so slow in the campaign. I circled and joined up but I could barely stay airborne at the speed he was flying. Eventually I just sped up a bit to stay airborne, hit autopilot, and had a look at his speed using F2. His speed remained a constant 283-287 KM/H. Note, not knots, but KM/H. I don't remember this speed indication being labelled in KM/H, so maybe that's something to do with a cause. I then had a look at my map to check things out. Another thing was that my lead's call sign was Chevy 1-1, but even though I was his wingman mine was Chevy 2-1 (should be 1-2?). Then I noticed my aircraft turning on the map so I quickly pressed F1 to get back to the cockpit but nothing happened. I tried several times but could not get back to my cockpit. I tried F2 and F3 and those views worked. I also could not control my aircraft which by this stage was in full afterburner no matter what I did with my controls. So something bugged out big time, and I'm not sure what. I will refly the mission soon and report back if anything has changed. Cheers,

Hi, It sounds as if others have already reported this previously, but I would like to ask if you could implement a fix for the "January bug" with the next update. Apparently it was fixed once before, but it seems to be back again. I have been using the M2000 campaign lately, and this bug makes a lot of the missions fairly difficult as in certain modes the HSI is off by about 100 degrees. I'm not even sure if it affects other aircraft, but it does the M2000. Please see the M2000 bugs thread for more info. Cheers,

I would love to see a fully operational F-111. Also a F-117.

Great. Thankyou! -
I've been having an issue with this also. I haven't been able to acquire a visual of the weapons fire, so was relying on the coordinates, which as pointed out, are incorrect. The mission triggers seems to stop from here I suppose because I haven't done my "Show of force" in the correct place. I guess I'll try with these updated coordinates and find the fire. Thanks.

It's only a month later, but just a question, has the CCRP automatic release been implemented yet? I have been flying the Mirage and making a few weapons training missions lately. There seems to be a bomb release as the HUD indicators line up, as I am holding the pickle button down early as I assumed auto release was implemented, but even though I am always close, I can not hit S*&% with CCRP.

Ha. Glad it wasn't just me. This just happened to me. Completed the mission anyway, but couldn't figure out why I was on a heading of about 210 degrees on final to Vaziani when it was supposed to be 309 degrees. i did a flyby of the runway to look for a number to confirm it was Vaziani :D , but I recognised it up close anyway. Cool mission!

Shame, it seems the video has been removed. Any chance of getting it back up again? Cheers, -
Thanks Redglyph, That's very helpful. I will have a look at my logbook. I haven't tried yet but according to the notes, Apache600 has kindly added a bypass feature with this campaign, so I will also just try that first. I will have a look at the logbooks etc just to learn something too, and edit if still necessary. Cheers,
