1. Nice one Bill, Haven't looked at the detail but that looks like a very useful quick ref guide - thanks for the hard work  V
2. Yep that sounds very encouraging. Nice indeed! I too would very much like to see a 1940's scenario map option and vehicles. I hope to contribute some models, if the learning curve and time permit.
3. Further miscellaneous testing... Hi Peter P, :) Thanks for the info - it's good to hear we all have the Warn thing (being a newb I thought it was just me). And for the info on clearing attachments, will follow your suggestions. I was getting a bit frustrated - big ta V
4. Likewise, didn't have a clue what that was - I must read the book!! What with orange lights and bells not usually indicating all is well, the couple of times it's happened to me I landed guessing something bad was about to happen :)
5. Many thanks!
6. Here's a quick little a quick little schwazzle that I did half by accident and half be determination... Not sure I recommend this manoeuvre as I lost all E and then some :) and eventually the fight, but airframe was very clean at the end as I also need to watch my altimeter:music_whistling: V
7. Crikes a'mighty! I just came back to A2A practise after some time doing other stuff, and then some P51 mud moving experiments... (Still can't proceduralise low level bombing / rockets!!) ...and I have to say; Sheet this AI is kicking my Butt Again! It took me a day of getting mostly letters home, before (on the second day) I finally nailed his butt a couple of times! I withdraw my references to this being straightforward! About half the time it's a stalemate and I give up, or he crashes. The other half is split between him killing me and visa versa. Still loving this AI tho! (Tho he could use a better altimeter:)
8. Hi Mac, I can help with the fuel / weight issue at least... basically at the mo the AI is missing the mass of its ammo = 628lb, so.... Go to Mission editor (ME) and select / highlight the enemy aircraft, then select the weapons loadout (pic of a bomb in front elevation), change his fuel load AND YOURS so the dif is 628lbs, i.e. he's got a gross weight (GW) of 10066lbs and you've got a GW of 9438lb. Re seperation at start - in ME click and move the enemy aircraft further away - Yeah it takes a few mo's to set up everything as you want it - for me 5 miles min is just about enough - I use SHIFT F1 (labels) to keep an eye on him until about 1-2miles then I turn it off. It's all about practise - the more you practise the easier the seemingly impossible gets really! good luck.
9. Very sorry to hear you've had a set back - I'm using 2013 and I'm finding it falls over quite alot altho I thought it was me - I save a different file everytime I make a half step forward - took your lead and trying to do the V2 as an exercise. Stick at it! - your V1 is as good as perfect if you ask me, and your Tiger chasis looks spot on! My V2 is lots of very loosely affiliated components at the moment:megalol:
10. Leafer I don't see why your Tiger would be anything other than awesome, if your V1 model is anything to go by! (Any progress on the next stage for the V1?) I'm guessing wildly here but... If the tracks and weapons are animated and the exterior model is good it could be made to work in CA with assistance from those in the know(?) - it's not like you need to build the inside architecture of the beast, from first impressions anyway? (Altho how awesome would that be). Anyway I've been playing with 3d max for a little while and really enjoying it - a lot to learn tho :book: I will bring some WWII models to the party when I've done something worth talking about.
11. Nice one! Will look forward to tangling with this ship. Thanks for the work!
12. Yep if you can get the advantage during the merge, and you're shooting OK, then it should be in the bag fairly quickly. Having said that, I'm having some damn good scraps when I foul up and have to try to win back the advantage. Am working on ways of not getting hit and turning it around, (too long for youtube with limited techknowhow at the mo) working on it. ED please don't dumb down ea AI !!!! It's practically teaching me how to fly properly at the moment! I'm not sure I'd of practised stall turns otherwise :) All ea AI must die, long live ea AI!
13. yep, happy days! Really. For me something clicked practising those missions and they taught me the beginnings/basics of formation flying those missions! It took me ages but got a few in the end. Darn good fun....!
14. Hopdigguddydamn !! How do I clear my attachments list to start again... to post images that is. ..and why have I got WARN next to my posts all the time !!!!!!!!!!!!! love V
15. The ea AI is a killer on amphetamines sure enough! Am reading a book at the mo about the BOBritain, theres an memorable account in the prelude (during the BOFrance) of a 109 dragging a spit/huri (cant remember) way down low, actually below high tension cables at one point, in that case the 109 gets shot down, but the account from the RAF pilot despite him being the pursuer, makes it clear it was a VERY close run thing - it's a good and realistic tactic if he's latched on IMHO. An ea dead is an ea dead. Defo counts! Gotta keep eyes on! Like pretty much all the time! (In the absence of head tracker, mouse controlled view worked for me OK in IL2).
16. test attachy thing
17. This doodle bug looks awesome and would be an excellent addition to the P51's environment - we could try wing tipping! Just dont give it EA AI:) I'm gonna make some time to look at whats involved in contributing to WWII objects and if it's not beyond me I'll have a go. (this will be slow burn - all I've done ever was modify skins in IL2!)
18. Nice one Leafer! All fing AI must die! And good catch at the end:)
19. Isn't a continuos barrel roll i.e. just the right amount of rudder and pull? held rather expertly in this case, I'd have to try it to be sure and I'm by no means and expert. It's a cool move sure enough. Re the youtube thing - in quick reply anyway if you hit the YouTube icon, just place the vid ref part only, in the middle between the close bracket and the open bracket.
20. Nice SimFreak, Very authentic looking vid, some especially the longer range shots, could be straight out of a dusty can! I like watching the original guncam films as you can often see how the pilots are using the rudder etc. and slipping it a bit to try and get the rounds on. This also comes across in these vids. Will have to have a play with this view.
21. 20K no advantage (weight balanced) 1v1 Ai This aint pretty... Some very dodgy skills up high(ish) - plus I was about to call it a day after a couple of hours of practise, apologies made... Determination and luck win out, despite skill shortage and fatigue. I lose track of him shortly after the merge. Not managed to get him off me, after he's latched on before! He got to close and I chopped the power... Got to work on another tactic to keep in touch on the way down...?
22. Cheers Blaze. I missed that thread - glad it aint just me then.
23. Small problem during test flight Have done a couple of longish test flights to get to know cruise and fuel management... & it's not going so well. This was the end of the first flt and the result of dropping tanks at 30 something thousand in the middle of no where. Somewhere just north of the Mountains a longway SW of Mineralnye Vody and a longway SSE of Maykop is it? Anyways, it seems i need to read the book again as when i drop the drop tanks, i also drop the contents of the wing tanks! This left me with only 10USG in the fus tank - I looked about for a airfield, but kind of new there weren't any in my part of the world, I know this map pretty well. Being an immersion junky I decided not to F10, and see what mood the gods were in. Knew there were several airfields on the coast so pointed her to cross the mountains making them as narrow as pos. 240ish. Throttled back & tried to turn off the hi blower, no joy, so descended instead (!!). Fiddled with the radio trying to get a heading, no joy. Levelled at 16 in the middle of the mountains when the inevitable happened. With nothing insight but mountains I resigned myself to the fact that I was going to break yet another 51. I cleaned it up as best I could and descended at just under 200mph, after a minute or two I spotted an airfield off the nose but it looked too far by far, as the scenery was getting closer. I stayed above a valley to start with as I was sure I didn't have the legs, wondered if I might find a long straight road... Anyways the vid takes it from here. The gods were in a very good mood! It looks setup but this was just amazing luck - about 10mins of glide! I couldn't believe my luck. Although some very dodgy decision making made it more marginal than it needed to be. Sorry this is so long, hope it aint too boring, was gonna post the trk but it's 10MB and only of any interest at all for the last 10mins.
