Daher meine beiden Fragen: 1) Wer bzw.wo? Welche Kaufplattform wäre da empfehlenswert (also Händler + Service, damals beim letzten Versuch gab´s Hardwareschotte etc. . Flanker1

Thank you for the great investigation and research, and yes - if all the effort has already been made and the claim is obvious to depict the environment and epoch as accurately as possible - then please recreate the historical military installations and places exactly where they were. There were truly enough of them, so nothing has to be added or omitted.

Unbelievable news, including today's release date in April. I'm so incredibly excited about all the work and the progress and the anticipation that I had a short gasp of breath earlier. @MAESTR0Please be fair, and also publish some Redfor screenshots news as part of the Friday news. . .

Here are all interesting facts about the assignment with the SAM systems of the time in the former GDR, very detailed. neva; sa2 wolchow s75; sa5 wega s200

The Sa-3 location was always with 4 revetments/firing positions, if I remember correctly. @MAESTR0 The only point I would improve is the paved paths. Sand paths are more realistic, many of the positions/sites were not very well developed and the surfaces were not particularly paved - or they were often provided with the typical PAG-14 plates (they were also very common on airfields and actually every military installation, I actually miss them on many Soviet / Warsaw Pact airfields and the taxiways and fortified positions - so far I have only ever seen the same design of the ground textures at airbases in the screenshots you provided.) Perhaps this can still be changed, it would be much more realistic and appropriate to the time.

Yes, this is the typical SA2/3 SAM site layout scheme. . .and actually pretty well done. Hopefully we will also get all the equipment we need to create realistic scenarios, PRW-13/16/17 or P-14, P-15, P-18, P-37 and all the associated hardware for operation. The same applies to early detection 1L13. I also hope that at Damgarten (my favorite Soviet air force base) we will have the opportunity to recreate the exceptionally in-house radar and SAM site in the southern area of the airfield.

@MAESTR0 once again incredible pictures, thank you very much. Since Redfor has always been underrepresented in DCS so far (and will probably remain so in the future) please post some screenshots of Damgarten Arfield when we are already in the north. The first MiG-29A of the 16th Air Army of the Soviet Union had been stationed outside the USSR. @MAESTR0 additional question: will Oranienburg Airfield not be on the map, on Wag's list s was not mentioned, although Phase 1 territory

@kolpakov_79 I realized that Zei was no longer with us. But the Mod is still in use and obviously modified by somebody. That is why the question of the MiG-29 UB mod and who modified it further. I would love to use it for the upcoming map of Cold War Germany. Can somebody provide a download link please? Even if only AI/KI static model would be very helpful, with former soviet Airforce skins.

any news regarding roughmets etc.?

@MAESTR0 Absolutely right, exactly what needed to say with all respect for your amazing piece of art - please lower significant the colors to more shades of grey amd brown and much more worn out and polluted, especially in the former GDR - just one example: https://interaktiv.morgenpost.de/ost-berlin-1980-2016/

@MAESTR0 Incredible amazing, Maestro. . . I can only repeat: As a cold war child behind the iron curtain, a dream becomes true. I will have tears in my eyes when first flight in a MiG-29 from a soviet aerodrome near my hometown where I grew up, with eveyday and often night full burner noise in my ears and dogfighting over my head. Just wow! As for Bitburg Bluefor Airbase, please show us some detail pictures from Damgarten soviet aerodrome. Please tease! And will there MiG-25RBT´s and BM´s from Werneuchen airfield? They play a key role for the soviet doctrine and strategy. And will there be MiG-25PD´s for Eberswalde/Finowfurt ready for hunting/intercepting SR-71 Blackbirds coming in from Mildenhall? That was their daily task and life in the 80ies. . . https://www.maz-online.de/brandenburg/gefaehrliche-spiele-in-finow-5633F4JNGW5DR2VECSLTRU2QCM.html

Stay cool, we don´t need a touristical sightseeing or google streetview map. . . we need cold war military focus on military sites and POI and especially airfields (details on hardware, equipment, layout, SAM and radar sites, ground installations with historical correctness). Dont get me wrong, I love details the more the better, but surely will make no helicopter missions in Lübeck when I can access a Germany cold war map. . .

@MAESTR0 Amazing, just one word amazing! This is a dream that becomes true. . . one thing: are the hardened aircraft shelters from the soviet airbases final? because the doors and camouflage are missing and they are in comparison to the other nice stuff a little less detailed (no exhaust funnel/doors at the rear, no maintenance rooms/work stations on the side and so on. . . ) just asking for a friend. . . really , this is no nitpicking, just a hopefully constructive feedback. Anyways, I want to share this great source regarding soviet cold war aviation in GDR/Eastern Germany: Sitemap And please don´t forget the Gate Guards:
