@MAESTR0 Thank you for this amazing piece of art, Ugra! My dream since Flanker series times back in the 90-ies became true. Here is my wishlist for the CWG map, especially East Germany and concerning Soviet and East German air forces. Please add the radar hills as they are available in Sperenberg for all other bases. Models for PRW-13/17, P-14, P-18, etc., P-37. Add RSP-7, etc. Also please add the Gate Guard MiG-15 on a pedestal for Damgarten, Merseburg and Zerbst, etc... There were also MiG-21, -23, -17, -19 and Su-7 Gate Guardians at the Soviet bases Please add the SKP (ZiL-130 9MV) for Damgarten on the eastern edge of the runway! Please make all these models also accessible via the Mission Editor. Please design a KDP tower and building corresponding to the era and Soviet style with camouflage. There were 3 different types of HAS, varying mainly in size but also in design. DEFINITELY ALL HAD ROLLING DOORS ON TRACKS. Please add the doors, they were never without on active duty AND please add also EXHAUST CHANNELS going outside and OUTSIDE WORKSHOP ROOMS. And many Red airfield also had the massive exhaust recoil concrete walls Blast walls at the pre flight lanes. Please add this for immersion and a more realistic gameplay. Shelters for the personnel, a fighter command post, and camouflaged shelters/bunkers for vehicles. The GRANIT bunker is somewhat too massive and was almost always accessible from both sides. Some more specific designs rather than the same as on NATO airfields, especially the KDP/towers of the soviets were much more diferrent and old school. They often use WW2 German Luftwaffe infrastructure, equipment und buildings I am happy to provide detailed pictures and sources if desired!

MF is identical to ML which was the main variant of the Flogger and fit´s perfect to the CWG map

Hello Urbi, yes, I am aware of the problems this very outdated model has and hoping for Tomcatz or at least an official update of the 3-D model finally. But I am happy that some talented people are dealing with it. I Think it´s better to have this than nothing regarding the Flogger. . . which is so anticipated by a lot of people in here.

Hi Tom, thanks for the compliment. I'm very curious how it will continue with the creation of your MiG-23ML and what skins there will be, @Urbi is always here with very good additions, maybe you can work together at one point or another. The Flogger in the ML variant is the perfect addition to the CWG map of the 80s, as it was used almost everywhere - in Zerbst, Köthen, Damgarten, Falkenberg, Finow and of course with the synonym MF in the East German regiments of the Luftwaffe. . . with the Poles and Czechoslovakia. Actually the most important Redfor fighter of the entire period...

I tried to make it look more realistic and mirror the time period visually correct, using some mods (all public) and do some -not very professionell- textures by myself. Somebody more talented out there can surely do a better job on this! Besdide this, I am heavily using scenery removal triggers and build up big parts of it new.

First airbases of the 16th VA in eastern Germany are ready and heavily waiting for your beauty. . . Altes Lager and Damgarten anno 1986. Sso, please don´t give up and made finally an updated AI 3D model of this one of the most iconic fighter (ML or MLA?) and give it to the DCS community. . . well done. It looks very promising!!! Quick recovery and good luck for your projects!!

Thank you Ugra, my dream became true regarding simulating my cold war childhood. . . Damgarten early 1986, last active days with MiG-21bis of the 16th VA 773 IAP. . .

I took this as a sign and good indication that we will finally get the MiG-23 in DCS. That's a good thing, because the wonderful cold war map is not half as good without the MiG-23. The Flogger is beautiful and defined an entire era on the side of the Soviet Air Force, namely exactly the one in the seventies and eighties. Now let's hope that we won't get the Flogger for DCS in 3 years, but sooner. . .

Because I have no opportunity to download and try for the next at least weeks because I need a new performant PC and still saving the money for it, but I am surely one of the guys who are whishing this most for more than 25 years and stated this in the forum 1000 times (yes, UGRA and ED, you heared us. . . THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for this dream became true!!! . . . can somebody please post pictures of soviet airbases, Damgarten, Merseburg, Zerbst, Werneuchen etc. . . please with detail of shelters, radar installations and ground equipment etc. . . the more the better. Mit 2 SSD zu arbeiten ist in der Tat eine sehr interessante und neue Erkenntnis, und ja, groß muss die für DCS sein - 205GB alleine für Cold War wie wir seit heute wissen. 64GB RAM waren auch meine Idee, was haltet ihr von der Idee 96GB? Der Tip mit MifCom ist ebenfalls sehr nützlich, da muss ich die Tage mal genauer reinschauen, sobald es die Zeit zulässt. AMD oder Intel. . . da muss ich ehrlich sagen bin ich momentan verwirrt, habe ich bisher immer zu Intel tendiert. Eine Wissenschaft für sich aber offenbar mit den aktuellen Serien beider Hersteller und da graut es mir etwas vor der Entscheidung bzw. sich da reinzudenken erst einmal. . .

Hallo liebe Mitstreiter, ich weiß - dieser Thread taucht immer mal wieder auf - um dann meistens genauso schnell wieder zu verschwinden und somit nicht mehr aktuell zu sein. Für mich geht ein Traum in Erfüllung mit der Cold War Map Germany als Cold War Ostkind. Ich bin Flanker 1.0-Jünger der ersten Stunde und darauf warte ich nunmehr seit fast genau 30 Jahren. . . das rührt mich wirklich sehr, was da auf uns zukommt und stimmt mich emotional. Und dafür ist mir auch kein Investment zu schade, es muss exclusive dafür ein neuer Gaming PC her. Ich habe etwas Ahnung aber bin weit weg von "ich bau mir die Kiste selber zusammen und optimiere oder gar tune diese". Somit bin ich auf einer der Händler angewiesen, der komplett für mich zusammenbaut oder eben eine passende Vorkonfiguration anbietet. Daher meine beiden Fragen: 1) Wer bzw.wo? Welche Kaufplattform wäre da empfehlenswert (also Händler + Service, damals beim letzten Versuch gab´s Hardwareschotte etc. . .lang ist es her) 2) Was? soll rein in die Kiste? Budgetgrenze ist "offen", aber soll eben nicht 5 Riesen kosten und im Rahmen gesunden Menschenverstandes bleiben, da ich weder Stand heute - kein VR nutze (evtl lasse ich mich da aber von begeistern eines Tages) - reiner Singleplayer bin und bleiben werden - keine Filme drehen möchte. Maximalen eyecandy und Peformance aber definitiv geniessen möchte! Braucht es noch mehr an Infos, um mich etwas zu beraten und Tips bzw. eure wichtigen Erfahrungen zu teilen? Ich freue mich auf regen Input und danke schon einmal sehr im Voraus! Flanker1
