1. Purchase DCS: T-65 X-Wing Early Access and get bonus R2D2 that doubles as ground crew, co-pilot as well as an advanced targeting pod.
2. Building a small mission and just wanted to see how long could a pair of Hornets fly CAP. All of a sudden saw them off course and found this out...hmmmm...
3. I just finished building my new rig CPU: i7 4770K with Corsair H100i cooling MOBO: Asus Maximus Formula Mem: 16GB 1600 Corsair Video Card: eVGA GTX 780 Classified Case: Corsair Air 540 Here's my two cents on your questions, although its not GTX780 with ACX, i think the difference is not that huge... - Is the fans on these cards noticeable? I usually game with headphones. No, not at all. I use headphones as well cuz I use trackclip pro for TIR5, never even noticed the fans on the video card. I did try to make it go 100% RPM and it did produce some noise that I can notice, but unless I manually adjust it to 100%, in DCS it wont go more than 50-60%. - How well is this card handling the game and what max temps are seen? Max temp I have seen is around 65-70C, but I dont have time to start some serious overclock and adjusting yet, so that might change. - Has anyone moved from a custom loop to a factory closed loop like the corsair h100i? I read a review of cpu only loop with a 360 rad with comparable temps to the h100i. with H100i, my 4770k (again, running on stock settings, I wont be able to start overclocking till I have time next month) on idle is around 30C and in DCS, average is 40C, max temp i have seen is 48C. - I'm a returning player of this game. Anything else I should think about purchasing to make my sim playing more enjoyable? My last rig was geared more for mainstream gaming. I would suggest a nice HOTAS and also a rudder pedal if you are gonna get UH-1 or Mi-8. Another suggestion i can give you is that if you are planning to get the GTX 780 ACX and do not plan to water cool it, then you really need a case with nice air flow. That hot air from the GTX 780 is serious...
4. well, how about make the hula girl dancing every time we fire the weapons as day 1 customer prize... Seriously, i dont even care if Mi-8 is on sale. the full price i paid is worth the fun i had with it...
5. I used to do the same thing, putting up my own little radio station and enjoy flying when listening to it. I dont know but first i used .mp3 files, sometimes it plays and sometime there's nothing. but then i coverted .mp3 to .ogg and it works every single time. dont know why mp3 is having trouble playing though.
6. yep, you're right. corrected that. thx
7. You need to enter the FM freq that unit is transmit to your FM radio and select HOME mode. then your Course Deviation Indicator should come to life. Vertical pointer should guide your way to the unit. anyways, give it a try. i am at work now but if this doesnt work, i will do some test when i get home. ed. turbohog beat me.
8. ah... sorry dude, my bad. actually, what you need is to add two things. first as you already did, add "Transmit message", make it transmit in a loop. then you add "Set Frequency". set a frequency and then choose FM. that should do the trick just make sure you add an audio file to that unit to transmit and make it a loop. otherwise without an audio file it doesnt have anything to transmit. if you forget to check "transmit in a loop" it will only transmit the audio once, then go slience.
9. what i do is that i set an Ural-375 or any kind of ground unit in FRAP a "Transmit Message" trigger and make it transmit a sound in a loop in FM radio. Then I use FM Nav to locate that unit. Hope this helps
10. I comfirm, both landing lights only go up or down, no left-right movement.
11. +1 edit: oh EB you're fast. Great to hear that. Ecellent works.
12. ok, after going through the key command list, i found the cause for the NVG brightness problem. in the default key map: NVG Brightness Up --- RShift+RCtrl+H GMC. Set Latitude Decrease --- RCtrl+RShift+H those are same keys for two different controls. Change either one of these will get it to work.
13. dat wake  makes me kinda wanna do a little surfing with it. Now, just need to figure out a way to hold on to my ejected cockpit window after i land that Su-33 on Kuz.
14. same here, decreasing works fine but increasing is not. already tried this in both SP and MP, looks like a bug to me.
15. bought it the first minute i saw its released, having non-stop fun since :thumbup::thumbup: Me Mi-8sta
16. checked it yesterday, nothing there yet, but I remember Wags saying it may take a day or two till they post it. found the website from my history, there ya go: http://www.fsbreak.net/ edit: and you are right, cant find the post here anymore, maybe got deleted for some reason...
17. nope, its enabled in OPTIONS menu as "mini HUD" acts as an aid in the game. I dont think there's a helmet mounted sight on F-15C in FC3, I don't know if there is one on F15C in RL though... If you leave "mini HUD" on, you will be able to see it in all the planes in FC, so its not a F15C-only thing.
18. yep. I dont know how AA refueling is like in RL, but I played FC1 and FC2 and from what i can tell, refueling in FC3 is indeed buggy. it is already listed as a bug, just wait and see if this is gonna be fixed in the next patch.
19. IIRC, aerial refuel for FC3 is known issue. But i dont know if it's been fixed already or do we need to wait for 1.2.3 for the fix. check this http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1637299&postcount=792
20. No, its not his native language. But he asked me this and I had no clue, so I will just try to bring his question right in English and maybe someone can help this guy. What he asked was: he was doing some mission editing and he had some targets at a waypoint more than 160km away from initial start position. When he reached his waypoint, apparently he found "OFF MAP" on his HUD and he could not use CCRP/CCIP or GUN to engage his targets. I assume he got the message CCRP/CCIP value incorrect. He is wondering why this happened. I tried to reproduce this but everything worked for me. So maybe someone else knows what happened. This "OFF MAP" message is new to me, never saw this before...
