  1. SiTH, In fact, I do assume ED to honor the rewards promises (as announced by Wags). Without their backing of the Kickstarter and DCS WWII, I wouldn't have backed. About the backed amount, it seemed a fair deal at the time at 6x2 flyables in DCS WWII and 8 aircraft keys for DCS World, coming to $12.50 a serial. Obviously won't use all myself but look forward to distributing to friends who otherwise might not have tried. MAC
  2. As the title says. Have been waiting for the DCS World P-51D keys since October, would appreciate a positive confirmation that those will be delivered soon, and the FW190 D-9 as soon as it becomes available. Thanks! MAC
  3. When speaking of prop pitch, "coarse/fine" is correct in English aviation terminology, but when speaking of RPM "higher/lower" is better IMO. One thing describes the means, the other the aim. MAC
  4. A better translation in the context of Drehzahl/Rotational speed (RPM) would be: größer = higher kleiner = lower MAC
  5. Why this or that? Why not this and that? I'd buy both. MAC
  6. No legal obligation, but probably a moral one since they threw their weight behind it, which is why many people backed it who wouldn't otherwise have touched it with a ten foot pole. Therfore it would have made sense to know (and approve) his plans beforehand. But oh well, I don't think the reason the project now continues is altruism alone - in the long run, it makes a lot of business sense to bring the WWII crowd into DCS. For my part I'm relieved they've taken over. MAC
  7. Agree absolutely. Initially he wanted to give away the Bf109-K4, the P-47 and the Spitfire Mk IX for free to everyone, regardless of if or how much they backed. Financial suicide. I hope now that none of that will be for free, and ED will walk a sustainable path with this project. The only thing that puzzles me is how much free reign he seems to have had with the whole Kickstarter, and that it doesn't seem to have been reviewed internally by his partners before launch. MAC
  8. You're probably right, I couldn't find the statement on the forum. Perhaps something he either told me or I misunderstood. Will need to check. MAC
  9. Very interesting Curly. As a remark, I remember a Yo-Yo statement that they had incorporated the Jumo at 1900HP without MW50 (in line with a power increase by Junkers after initial deployment). MAC
  10. +1 I don't think ED is legally obligated to take over anything from Kickstarter. Each backer has a contract with Mr. Shevchenko only. Many of his promises were out of touch with reality. No need to follow this path. MAC P.S.: I appreciate though that ED has assumed moral responsibility (rightly so, since they endorsed the KS) and does not only continue to develop WWII aircraft, but will also honor Kickstarter rewards.
  11. Just hope that won't take as long as it already has :) MAC
  12. Seriously I don't think ED should burden itself with hardware rewards. Let's face it, all this stuff was promised when talk was cheap. Nothing ever came from it as we all know. To be realistic, you'd have to employ someone to produce all these physcial things. Why would you do that? Focus on making good software, convert everything to digital extras. As a goodie, you could throw in other DCS stuff for choice. That should really satisfy everyone. Later when there is a need, you can produce physical extras and sell them. MAC
  13. According to the blue matrix, at $60 you're eligible for 1 extra, digital or physical, as you prefer. MAC
  14. SiTH, I think the best idea is to refer to the rewards matrix that was introduced during the Kickstarter. You find information on that on the Kickstarter DCS WWII main page under 'Rewards', you'll find when you scroll down long enough. Luthier promised everyone to be able to choose their rewards according to the matrix, no matter what other rewards they had picked before. Hence the format on the DCS Backer page. I believe this would still be the best way to go. By the way, there are some small discreptancies between the blue matrix and the actual matrix rewards. Luthier said he would always honor the higher one. Good luck with sorting it all out. MAC
  15. Yes, I know. I'm eligible for 8 Rewards, and have chosen 4 DCS World P-51D and 4 DCS World Fw 190 D-9 keys. They're all showing as accepted, the question was when the P-51D keys will be delivered, they should have been back in October (by RRG, but now by ED). For the Fw 190 it's clear that they're not available yet. MAC
  16. Flagrum, Nice work, but the english terms 'coarse' and 'fine' are correct in connection with propeller blade angles. MAC
  17. I'm biting. When will I receive the DCS World P-51D keys which were promised as Kickstarter reward for October '13 and which I already selected on the http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/personal/backer/ website back in March? Many thanks. MAC
  18. Okay, excellent news. Best possible outcome from this messy situation. MAC
  19. I've read through these terms. Technically each backer individually enters a contract with a creator, Kickstarter only provides the platform and is not party to the contract. To get my money back I would have to sue. This is very costly and complicated, insincere creators rely on this to keep them safe from claims. That's why it's excellent news that, where non-fulfillment happens on a large scale, public prosecution on the basis of 'crowdfunding theft' has started to jump in. No doubt more cases are to follow. :furious: MAC
  20. Exactly right. Promised to be available as a backer reward as of October '13 following a successful Kickstarter campaign. Sent many emails, PMs, forum posts, not a single reply. How ED can be looking on when they actively supported the Kickstarter drive and host this forum is beyond me. MAC
  21. With all due respect, I've paid $250 and waited for my DCS P-51D codes since October last year. No information on progress on that topic since March. How about some respect for the backers? MAC
  22. This is really good news for backers who fund projects in good faith, and really bad news for people who collect money on empty promises. :censored: comes to mind. MAC
  23. Awesome, can't wait to see this available! MAC
  24. Tomorrow should have been March 25th, but today is May 31st and I note that in 8 months and counting and you haven't managed to deliver my P-51D codes. I sense a serious lack of integrity. MAC
