  1. This is the most responses I've had to a post, since the last time I FU'd. Have you tried 14 houses 9990' apart. I still say there's not much call for it. ..
  2. Yes you are correct. There is a call for a 9990' spacing. I miss-read the calculater. ..
  3. Nice demo! I was about to do one for the Harrier. I'm using CCRP Dive Toss, but the principle and results look the same. ..
  4. CCRP Dive Toss, as described by an F-16 pilot in the Falcon 4 manual, is exactly like this and was the preferred method for taking out AAA and suchlike, when a standoff was required and that's what he used in real life. It's not arcade and you can use it in our Harrier, with good results. The ASL doesn't work correctly, but it's less important in this type of attack, because the target box is always in sight and it dosn't wave much from below it. Climb the pitch ladder wings level keeping the ASL on the centre line and from below the box. With an auto release you've got a good chance to hit the target if you've done it right. ..
  5. There's nothing to disagree with here, it should work but it doesn't. This also applies to several other modules, which have had sight problems for years and have not been fixed. I don't intend to wait around for years for it to be fixed, so I am using what does work. Toss bombing is my thing and has been my main form of entertainment for Mig 21, F 86, Hawk etc. which have no sight aids. Now I have the luxury of Auto Release. Reading the last 14 pages, it appears that the fault has been acknowledged, but keep up the pressure, it needs to be sorted. ..
  6. The way I read it, the Harrier pilot is talking about flying with an asymmetric load (a common practice), not about dropping 500 lb off the end of 1 wing. Flying at 400 kts S&L and dropping a bomb from an outer pylon produced a slight wing drop, which was easily corrected with trim, then the aircraft flew as the pilot described. ..
  7. Yes, I realize DT is not implemented, so I'm using what does work, as described in the Falcon 4 manual, which suits me fine in my RAF Harrier, operating against an island in the S Atlantic, (Crimea) from a carrier, in the early 80s. Here they added an adaption to the original sight, to allow toss bombing, after a loss from manpads, from LL attacks on Stanley, with retarded, delay timer, bombs. Auto release offset IP pop ups and LL toss bombing, work well with CCRP as we have it at the moment and I don't intend hanging around for something else to happen, so this what I'm using for my favourite form of bombing. ..
  8. I've spent some time practicing with CCIP, bombs, rockets etc. so now I tried CCRP and found chasing the fall line at 20000' straight and level, in a mode that might not be modeled correctly, a bit tedious and not that accurate with mk 82s dropped on a bridge. Maybe it's better suited to LGBs when I get round to it. CCRP Dive toss and Low level, 500', Toss Bombing, on the other hand, is much more interesting, exciting and a lot easier to do, with accurate results on bridge sized targets achieved, which will get better with practice. As an aside, all modes have had 100% replay success, except CCRP, where not a single replay has worked. ..
  9. Huey, if you want the real helicopter experience without AP helper interference and light weapons. Mi 8 for stabilized helo transport and heavier weapons (best all rounder). Shark for specialized, stable weapon platform (the most difficult to learn). Gazelle..... I used twist grip for 4 years on the first 3 and a year on the Gazelle without detriment.Pedals are a more realistic option, but it took quite a while to convert. ..
  10. Except, take off and land vertically. ..
  11. That's true, but so should a boot full of pedal and it doesn't. (Gyro/AP off of course). Violent inputs don't upset the balance and they should. Lower collective and drop vertically from a stable hover at 5000' and land at zero speed, without using the stick. Then jump in your R22 and do the same and see what happens. Throw the stick out the window first, to make sure you don't cheat. :helpsmilie: ..
  12. I've asked this question several times before, but I never get an answer, so here's another go (simplified). Why can I fly this machine without using the cyclic? ..
  13. "There is also the weird rolling behavior when you move the collective lever in the DCS Gazelle".... When this behaviour was first introduced, you could drop the collective to roll the Gazelle inverted and remain there. At least that's gone now. In fact inverted flight is now not possible due to the rotor breaking apart, (I'm glad to say).
  14. Wow! Thanks for the insight. Excellent cockpit. Regards..
  15. That top rotary looks nice. Both of mine have a blank spot in exactly the same place. Would you mind going into more detail on how you did all this. ..
  16. I haven't flown the Gazelle for a long time, but I can still: take off, travel to a destination and land on a flat roof, with the gyro and AP off. All without using the cyclic. This involves hard use of the pedals and collective. This simply can't be done with the helicopter remaining upright and stable in RL. ..

  18. Copied from another thread on the same subject: We are some IRL Gazelle pilots or former Gazelle pilots in contact with Polychop. I made a test flight with Polychop in Fall 2018 because I had a lot of complaints against the FM (I am helo instructor in the French Air Force and I learnt to fly helos on the Gazelle 15 years ago). Since my test flight, I have asked some Gazelle pilots to join me in order to help Polychop to recode the FM of the DCS Gazelle. I am so much disappointed about that FM... Polychop guys are aware about the issues on the FM... ... and my little finger tells me that they are probably working again on the FM... ..
  19. Glad you got it sorted. It's a common fault and sometimes another update will cure it. luckily it's easily rectified, if you know how. Regards..
  20. Try this. No. 6 is the pinkie. You have to assign it in the Saitek programmer before it will work in DCS. Open profile editor, switch to grid view. Delete the Mode 1 + Pinkie, Mode 2 + Pinkie, Mode 3 + Pinkie. Save the profile with a name and close. Enable the saved profile for DCS. This will enable your pinkey to be used as a modifier in DCS. (It sometimes gets corrupted with updates). ..
  21. OK, I get you. Centred in windows and out in pitch in DCS. Mine was the the same. I close the game, pull the X52 plug out and in and restart DCS. It resets itself. I never start the pc with the plug in, as it is usually off centre. ..
  22. Plug in X 52. Control panel/view devices and printers/ right click X 52 icon/game control settings/Properties. Then calibrate. I do it every time I use it. ..

"I saw that max seperation in the vid was about 16km? What has been your best max seperation that you have achieved, do you know?" Yes. Testing with drones, show the boundary to be 12 nm. By pure coincidence, this bomb stopped working correctly when Magnitude took over and by pure coincidence, I have another video to illustrate, which includes ground destructive distances of US equipment and no vertical destruction before that takeover. . ..

@Holbeach Have you tried staying at altitude and turning off-axis (or split-S and carry on in direction of ingress whilst bomb flies "over the shoulder") on egress? The bomb is chasing (travelling laterally in the same direction as your escape) you in the video and you spend time and distance by hitting the deck on the way out. You're faster up high and the bomb is, again, following you down. And vertically slanted flightpath takes longer to cover more ground distance, it can add up. The only other option is high alt level bombing. . The profile I'm flying is taken directly from the Mig 21 manual. Dive at 30 deg to increase speed. The US uses 45 deg. The big giveaway, is the instantaneous destruction, which is impossible. In fact at this distance, 7 nm, the jet is actually flying faster than the pressure wave and is therefore outrunning it. 10 km is the manuals safe distance requirement. " The only other option is high alt level bombing" Do you mean, like this. And, yes, I did try various directions of exit, but you can't beat instant bug death. ..

Like this, you mean. 10 km is the official safe distance required. ..
