  1. The original Lock On A10A, had 6 training missions, which I am surprised to find, still work, but no specific training manual. I guess they were too old to upgrade to DCS standard. ..
  2. I don't have OB, but if it's anything like this Stennis at 15 kt, with the ugly spotlight beam wake, removed, I'll be happy. ..
  3. 85 deg, is close to fry up time. My, 7 yo, use to run low 80s, when OC, with the occasional shut down if a speck of dust landed on it. A new cooler (30 quid) immediately reduced temp by 15 deg. Regular vacuum with fan removed, is essential, even with case filters. Check fan is actually increasing correctly, with Asus history record. Today @ 3.8, my temp is 55 deg, running Harrier and room temp 23 deg. GPU same temp. Cooler is the key. Regards..
  4. I ended up removing the stern wake entirely, in the cfg, just leaving the bow wake. I would rather have no wake, than a bad wake. ..
  5. It's been discussed here. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=216744 ..
  6. A few more points:- The P-51 manual states that fuel is supplied in all flying conditions. The plot thickens. Incidentally, if you continue the glide in the Spit, inverted at about 2000 rpm, after the fuel has run out, the oil pressure will increase gradually to max, off the scale. RR state that, the engine will run without oil pressure for some time, relying on residual oil in the bearing caps, before failure. This will have been tested many times after battle damage, with pilots squeezing a few more miles towards home. For the Mustang, oil pressure below 50 lb is not permitted and Mk9 30 lb. so maybe the fuel starvation problem, is assumed never to be reached. The only thing that is certain. Oil pressure will drop in negative G. ..
  7. Apart from Bunyaps profile, I've been using one from 73 Squadron, (Italy/Balkans) 1944. 4/6 aircraft. Approach target at 10,000' AGL and run it along port cannon until it emerges behind wing. Pull up and roll onto target will give a 60 deg dive. Release bombs, (2 x 250 or 2 x 250 + 1 x 500 lb) at 4,000' AGL. If flak is heavy, dive to ground to escape. Go strafe. If flak is light, zoom to altitude and provide top cover. I've been using a bridge with approaching convoy, to practice bombing and strafing. Return to base. Rearm. ..
  8. Thanks. Some things to consider:- Inverted flight at full power for 80secs will consume 3 gals petrol. No loss of oil pressure when inverted, is also present on the P-51. Loss of oil pressure will affect the CS prop. Oil pressure reads 110 lb. in the spitfire. It should be 70 lb. ..
  9. It would be polite to have some sort of official feedback in this bug report, even if it's only bugger off. ..
  10. A quick flight with the Spit shows that the oil pressure still remains constant when inverted, since I last checked it in 1.5. This is incorrect. oil pressure should should drop to zero. So is this a bug, or is this intended? Without any feedback, it's not possible to know. ..
  11. No. 6 is the pinkie. You have to assign it in the programmer before it will work in DCS. Open profile editor, switch to grid view. Delete the Mode 1 + Pinkie, Mode 2 + Pinkie, Mode 3 + Pinkie. Save the profile with a name and close. Enable the saved profile for DCS. ..
  12. Google Earth. I spend a lot of time in my, Crimea bomb range, but rarely at high level. Whilst practicing with the RN-28in in Crimea, I noticed an airbase in the background, which turned out to be the disused Novoivanivka AB. Flying higher, revealed crop irrigation circles, roads, railways etc. WOW! We have Google Earth in DCS. Is this new in 2.5, or have I just not noticed it? ..
  13. Barber pole, man that’s a good description! But what an unfortunate solution :( Do you not operate from the Tarawa? I agree the wake effect is unacceptably bad but you’re really missing out on one of the funnest parts of flying the Harrier if you’re not utilizing the Tarawa! A check on a 3 yo video, showed those same 3 cargo ships, had rather subtle, spread out wakes, rather than the thick straight lines we have now. I wiped all the ships from my regular Crimea battleground, because they looked so bad, but.... I installed Stennis today and completed my 1st, not too shabby, vertical landing (picture below for posterity). Tarawa is waiting in the wings, when I get the hang..
  14. Yes. Put only ams FILTR into Toby mod and overwrite. You will end up with 3 files. Then use Toby mod. Glass is very light tint, with no reflections. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=215963&page=2 ..
  15. Mix the to 2 together. Replace GLASS_ DIFF_ FILTR....... with ams999, GLASS_ DIFF_ FILTR...... ..
  16. @ moonshot. Returning to DCS with the Harrier and updated to 2.5, this is the first thing I saw. Jaggy wakes, flashing like barber poles. Nothing would alter them. I'm using app control and more or less the same settings as you. My solution: Remove all moving ships as they were completely unacceptable. ..
  17. I'll give it a try, but with the real life safe clearance (from the manual) being 5nm, it's not very realistic and neither are the instant deaths. Update: First attempt gave 9.75nm (and death), so it has potential to make the 12nm...
  18. The RN-28 is about 4nm clearance required. Previous testing with ai, showed the RN-24 required 12nm. ..
  19. I made these videos in 1.5, to show the RN-24, self destruction, bug. You can't get far enough away from it without killing yourself. I've tried it again in 2.5 and got the same result. The small RN-28 might be OK. ..
  20. I'm using a combination of ams999 and Toby23 mods to get it how I like it. A little more green in the tint would be nice, but many thanks to the modders for solving the problem. ..
  21. I like scratches, but try this. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3301254/ ..
  22. Much better thanks. ..
  23. That's a lot better. It enhances the blue sky as shown in the video instead of turning it green, which shows it to be more accurate. ..
  24. Yes, you can clearly see the difference in colour. It has more of a light blue/green tint, which has no loss of forward clarity at all.
