  1. That shouldn't be the case though. At slow speeds they should pretty much like normal. Only flight control relying on hydraulics is the stabalizer, and that has a backup pump to work in the case of a hydraulics failure.
  2. The fan switches are on the triangular panels. Not sure if they work yet. The switch that sits in front of the fan has to do with the nose mounted machine gun that is not available a for the Mi-8 at this point.
  3. About the aileron hydro bosters: A common problem with most airframes is that at high speeds (usually close to mach 1 or above) the stick force required to move the ailerons increases to a point where they just lock up, leaving the plane without roll controll. Therfore, aircraft designed to go faster than mach 1 have to use a system to help out the pilot. In case of the MiG-21 the hydraulic aileron boosters help out.
  4. Very nice! Thank you for posting.
  5. Maybe you guys can learn a thing or two from this: Practice and much more practice really helps. ;)
  6. That suggestion works: Edit: Definatelly works for me. Are you sure you are not missing a step?
  7. Hi, As with some other modules, I just started doing a mini tutorial series for the Mi-8. First video starts of with sling loading. Second video gives a brief overview on how to use the doppler navigation system: More videos to follow! :pilotfly: John
  8. First video of my upcoming Mi-8 mini series, starting of with sling loading. Enjoy! :joystick:
  9. That is actually possible with the mission editor in 1.5.
  10. Hmm, wondering if this is done like this by design. When you turn both fully on, you get more brigthness. Could be that there are two sets of lights covering each panel. In case one fails you won't be left in the dark... Would be interesting to hear from AlphaOneSix about this topic.

    Mirage and lgb

    Correct.
  12. Thank you very much for providing this guide, really appriciated. If you have any more of those, definatelly don't hold back posting them on here. I guess you could call it partially automated. The first bottle will be fired upon receiving the fire warning. The second bottle has to be fired manually, in case the first bottle (and probably also additional methods like cutting of fuel) doesn't put out the fire. I guess the 4 buttons to fire the primary bottle serve as a backup (i.e. If it isn't fired automatically (not sure how far thats possible though)) and they might possibly also be used in a case where there could be the signs for a fire in a specific apartment (smoke?), without the fire warning having been trighered yet.
  13. Hi, Just got another video uploaded for you guys! This time I will show you how to use the RSBN for navigating as well as the PRMG for landing. The PRMG bit at the end is to show the principle. Might do a more in-depth tutorial on that at a later point. Best regards, John
  14. Weapon system circiut brakers have to be on as well.
  15. YES! Question: What is actually the point of that? In the outside view the air-horn is not very loud, barley hearable over the engine/rotor noise even, and I guess you won't be honking at other traffic anyway?
  16. Yeah, having native and english voice-overs would be the best solution in my opinion. Reading (especially without pausing) is not really an option, and I guess if I would be flying for the Russian airforce (or any other airforce for that matter) I would understand the radio, so simulating it with English would be fine.
  17. Yeah, that is quit neat! Has anyone got the fans running yet? Apparently (according to the newsletter) they should work now, but while the switch for the fan moves now, the fan itselfe doesn't... Also, anyone got the copilot speaking yet? I got him to adjust (I think), however he won't talk to me. :joystick:
  18. Short and simple answer: yes While the Saitek pedals are okay, the MFG Crosswinds are just not within the same class. The materials used are solid, production quality is perfect and the feel of them is just amazing. I personally regret spending money on Saitek ProFlight padals, as they started to show signs of wear and tear within a year. Replacing them with the MFG Crosswinds was the right thing to do. No more frustration about the pedals. Also no more excuses for sloppy flying. :joystick::music_whistling:
  19. Yeah, the pilots of all the moduls can be killed, it just happens not very often in most of the modules. The helos are another story though, small arms fire can get your crew memebers killed quit easily. Even got both pilots in the Huey killed, while the door gunners stayed alive. Watched the helicopter fly circles from the door gunners position for the next 30 minutes until it ran out of fuel... While I can't remember my A-10 pilot getting killed by gunfire, I took him out a couple of times by crashing into the tanker while airial refuelling. :joystick:
  20. Not currently. The only way to make the L-39C "single-pilot" is done via the mission editor.

    APU

Quit similar to some electric cars, where heated batteries are used. They have a high capacity, but require some of the stored engery just to keep warm.
  22. I thought that was allready working? Played arround with the lights recently, and it seemed like the brightness changed properly.
  23. I think there was some talk about the rear seat affecting the front seat as well. Make sure that you have turned on oxygen for both the front and the rear pilot. Also, I don't think there is a need for 100% oxygen except emergency cases.
  24. Okay, I will have a look into that! No promises though, as it turned out that I can't hit a ground target with bombs even if it is the size of a football field :music_whistling: Hmm, could have been a bird strike possibly? Do you have random failures and birds turned on?
