Leatherneck Simulations Monthly Update - Februamarch 2015
xxJohnxx replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Seems like it! -
I think the coupons only work for content produced by Eagle Dynamics. The MiG-21 on the other hand is produced by Leatherneck Simulations and therefore stuff like coupons and bonuses don't apply. It would be like having a discount coupon for bananas in store X and expecting it also to be valid for bananas in store Y. :smilewink:

Hmm. Make sure you have the throttle unlocked and the fuel pumps on, else you can hold down the starter all day and nothing will happen ;)

Yes, I have mine bound to my Warthog. The action is called "Start Engine" and it is bound just like any other button/function as well. No real magic too it ;)

[NO BUG / EVALUATING] 1.2.15 slight tendency to roll right
xxJohnxx replied to Eldur's topic in Flight Dynamics
Okay, thanks for the information. Is there any other way that could compensate in a similar way too the trim tabs or was it just not necessary? -
can we have a February Monthly update :)
xxJohnxx replied to plehmann's topic in Heatblur Simulations
I have never been really convinced by the flight modell of their C172, although it is said to be quit accurate. In my limited opinion the FM in DCS feels more sound.... -
The "high speed/low speed" switch should return to center. Basically, if you are in the manual mode you hold the switch into the "high speed" direction until you have set the desired speed ARU speed. With pushing it into "low speed" you can decrease the target speed again. I guess a better translation instead og "high speed/low speed" should be "increase speed/decrease speed".

Maybe also over temperature. I haven't taken a look at the EGT in those conditions, but it might be worth taking a look. I am also not sure if it is just too little airflow causing a surge. At least the engine dosen't take permanent damage at low altitude, at it just can be restarted.

Leatherneck Simulations Monthly Update - Februamarch 2015

Oh, you Goofheads, you all enjoy teasing way too much! :D -
Nah, turbines, as opossed to diesel engines, can run dry without a problem. If you increase rpm over 85% without having the fuel pumps on, you will not have the engine running dry either. You just feeding too little fuel, causing a flameout. This doesn't mean that the system is completly dry. So on restarting there is enough fuel in the system for the engine operated pump to start pumping fuel. So I think it is no really a bug and I assume it works as intended.

Leatherneck Simulations Monthly Update - Februamarch 2015

Don't really expect two prop aircraft to be released. I rather assume it would be two modern birds (one of them being the F-14) and one prop. I could imagine that the F-14 and the prop are released 2015 and the other bird maybe next year. But I guess, soon enough we will know more! :joystick: -

Well, t hose are great news! Looks like an exciting year for us. On a related side-note: Really looks like the F-14's rear end! -
[NOT BUG] Mig 21 1.2.15 OpenBeta trim problem.
xxJohnxx replied to AJaromir's topic in General Problems
That was like that before and as far as I know is affecting the other aircraft as well. The problem here (or the reason why it is the way like this) is that you have to simulate trim without actually being able to shift the re-centering point of the joystick (as long as there is no FFB involved). For example: 100% full forward deflection of the joystick hits the maximum forward limit 0% deflection is the mechanical center of the joystick -100% full backwards deflection of the joystick hits the maximum backwards limit If you don't trim the joystick deflection percentage equals the deflection percentage of the simulator input (the deflection of the simulated joystick). However, let's assume you are holding the joystick at -10% backwards deflection. Now you want the trim this out and you depress the "Nose Up" trim. You will slowly bring your joystick to the 0% deflection position which means that you are trimmed. However, by doing that, your real joystick and the simulator input are now off by 10%. These 10% are missing or too much when you reach the end of the deflection areas. For example, if you now push your stick fully forward, it might be at 100% deflection, however the simulated joystick is only at 90%. If you pull your stick to -90% backwards, the simulated joystick already is at -100% deflection. This is pretty much the only way too do trimming with currently used joysticks. The only real solution too that is a force-feedback joystick which has the capability to represent the real stick deflection during the whole movement range at all trim settings. The Huey and the Mi-8 as well as the other airframes are affected by this as well. -
[NO BUG / EVALUATING] 1.2.15 slight tendency to roll right
xxJohnxx replied to Eldur's topic in Flight Dynamics
Had that before as well. While it might be annoying with PC hardware, it might not be completely unrealistic though. Normally on control surfaces that you can't trim (in case of the MiG it would be the rudder and the ailerons) you have so called "Trim Tabs", which are just small metal plates that the ground crew adjusts too trim the respective control surface. The ground crew has to relay on pilot reports and their experience to adjust the trim tabs to have 0 force on the control surfaces which is just impossible. Looks like this: (Note: In this picture the rudder has such a "fixed" trim tab, while the elevator has a normal trim tab that can be moved during the flight with the trim. However, if that effect is feature or a bug is hard to tell, but I am sure the devs will fix it if it is a bug. -
I agree, this update might have been a bit more difficult than it needed to be. While we have solutions for the problems here on the forums, I am sure a lot of users (that don't visit the forum) struggle with the problems. Especially people which are not aware of the repair function and the like... That is why you should deactivate the modules before you do a hardware change. This prevents you loosing deactivations.
-
Generally if a loadout is not possible (mainly because of one weapon being to close to another weapon) it won't be loaded. You maybe are not able to load 8xR-60Ms because of too little space between them. Not sure if that is correct though.

[RESOLVED] Options>Special "lost" in 1.2.15?
xxJohnxx replied to Azrayen's topic in General Problems
Run the repair. That helps! -
Rudder input (without braking) will not cause the nose-wheel to turn. If you want to change your taxi-direction you will have to use the diffrential brakes.
-
Did that take away one? Hmm I wasn't aware off that. The changelog just mentioned that it has been fixed (not made worse). But I guess LNS will sort out the problems created.
-
Yes. Or you write them a polite mail where you explain your situation and I am sure they will get you going again. The way banking and payments between diffrent companies works they probably allready do. Well, no. However, it has allready been fixed in the today's open beta release.
-
It is worth mentioning that you can not really run out of activations. If you run out of activations you will gain one activation back after a month.

Leatherneck Simulations Monthly Update - January 2015
xxJohnxx replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Where, why, what? Cobra said end of February a couple of days ago. Nothing else has been heard from hit stating otherwise... -
They could be. They are working on 3 projects. Pretty sure one of them is the Tomcat, however the other two could be anything basically.
