Red Flag Rumble - Mig21 vs F5 - Round 2
Kenta replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Tournaments & Events
Guys, I will not be attending (13.VLS Kenta). I see there are lots of reserves so it won't be a problem. Good luck! -

I wholeheartedly agree. -
My girlfriend started with the MiG-21. Didn't manage to land it though :D

Thanks for your reply! Yes, there are a couple different classifications, makes things all the more confusing. The F-5E is also third-gen in my mind. Just wanted to ask others and see their opinions.

Hey everyone! I was just wondering since MiG-21bis that we have available is considered to be a third-generation jet fighter, which generation is the F-5E-3? I know that the early A version is a second-generation what about E-3 version? Cheers!

PicksKing Modded Texture Compilation PMTC V2.2

Downloading as I'm typing. Always great to download your compilation :) -
Starway doesn't change smoke and fire effect. Mustang's smoke trails from burning vehicles is random. Sometimes it's longer in length other times shorter. Makes it a bit better looking and easier to spot areas where vehicles have already been destroyed. This is Starways textures with Mustang's smoke effects. Starway without smoke mod

Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
Kenta replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I can confirm it has been "implemented" for Ka-50. But I don't see it "working" in the A-10C. -
Thanks for the info Art-J. Will try that out.

Hello ladies and gents! For a couple of times now I tried doing the Flight and Radio Navigation training mission unsuccessfully. I get to the point where I do a turn towards Mozdok RSBN outer station, the instructor puts the IFR hood over the cockpit and says to fly heading 280 with speed 500kph and height of 5000 m. I do exactly that (I hope) and nothing happens after 70 km of flying. Is anyone experiencing anything similar or could tell me if I'm doing something wrong?

Sorry for the late response. I'm giving you the link to pastebin: http://pastebin.com/nftKJEQs The first error and traceback is when opening Mission editor, second is New Server. Tried to figure out the code myself but it's quite immense, a bit beyond me :P -

Also server window won't show when clicking "New Server" button in Multiplayer. When clicked the screen is just black with nothing happening. If there is some way I can help with debuging or something I'd be glad to. -

Tried the mod on DCS version 1.5.6. It causes the mission editor to get endlessly stuck on the loading screen. -

PicksKing Modded Texture Compilation PMTC V2.2

Thanks for sharing your lovely compilation! Just curious which terrain textures are actually used? EDIT: Nevermind, stupid question. Great work! -
It can sometimes lead to some nasty rotor clashes or crashes in general because you already might have your rudders trimmed "a lot" and you just add to the trim further by trimming. Things can get nasty pretty quick. It's really hard to know your current rudder location without using CTRL + Enter option. I'd advise you to fly without trim.
-
Some time ago, when trimming the Ka-50, it also trimmed the position of your rudder pedals. It was unrealistic and people used a "mod" to disable this. Now you have the option of setting this behavior on or off. Central position trimmer waits for you to return the stick into the central position before the trim takes effect. You don't need it on a FFB joystick as you've already figured out yourself.

Strange clockspeed and voltage behaviour gtx1070
Kenta replied to voodooman's topic in Game Performance Bugs
So I did some more digging. And I think my CPU really isn't the bottleneck. Some interesting information can be found in the https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=157374 thread. Specifically this post: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2981849&postcount=156 He's getting same problems that we're talking about here and he has a i7 6700K processor overclocked to 4.5Ghz. I don't believe that CPU should be a bottleneck for this game. As already mentioned, traffic, water and tree settings seems to have the most effect on this happening (GPU usage and therefore clock speed dropping). I do not get the same effect in Nevada so I guess Caucasus map is just old and does something differently. I think 2.5 Caucasus is going to run better since it's going to use the same T4 (I think) as Nevada. -

Thank you for your answer. It makes sense. Although I refuse to believe my CPU isn't fast enough to process what DCS is throwing at it but it does seems to be the case and I did think about that as being a possible reason. :smartass: I do wonder why the same doesn't happen in Nevada, while flying above Las Vegas though. -

I have a i5 2500K paired with a GTX 1070 PSU is a Corsair 750W Bronze rating. CPU is overclocked to 4.5Ghz and I'm getting the same. It seems that it is like amazingme said, but I don't believe it's because the processor is old or not powerful enough. The problem in my opinion lies in the old engine. Which has been changed a bit, but apparently not as much as for 2.0. I think it's an engine limitation - with same setting in 1.5.5 and 2.0.4 I don't get any downclocks on 2.0.4 and there's visually much more traffic in Nevada than in Caucasus region (traffic is what I found the biggest culprit for this problem happening). Can you post your DCS settings? I would suggest trying to lower in-game traffic to Medium or Low if you have it on High, that made a HUGE difference for me in terms of GPU frequency dropping. Changing power settings to maximum performance didn't change anything.
