  1. I am sorry for writing a new post just to ask a question like this. ED promised that all aircraft released are going to be categorized as stated in this post: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122801 They have however failed to update this list as they have promised to. The question is which flight model and systems modeling does this aircraft use? EFM and ASM? Or is it something else. On the module page it is stated that it has a: "Advanced flight model providing realistic performance and flight characteristics" Thanks for the answers!
  2. For some reason, this isn't working for me.
  3. Wow, I can't belive this thread has so many posts. Hopefully I managed to share my experience with other people and raise the awereness of how cool DSR can actually be. And yes, I'm guessing GTX 970+ is a good option for using DSR on 2x and higher native resolutions. Some people seem to be confused about which graphic cards work for DSR, fermi and kepler (500 series and 600 series +). You can get more info on the official site, but can't remember the exact link. I think it may even be written in the release notes for the new graphic drivers. Cheers!
  4. Hey peeps! Just tried out DSR (Dynamic super resolution) in DCS and I must say I'm impressed. I use a 21:9 2560x1080 monitor and a GTX 680 GPU. I upped the resolution to 3620x1527 and tested out visibility. Put myself on a runway in a Ka-50 and 5 other Ka-50s 500m from the ground. They were 16km, 18km, 20km, 22km and 24km away. While using MAX default FOV I could see all 5 Ka-50s on the 3620x1527 resolution. On the default resolution, I saw only 3, up to 20km away. Upon further testing. It was a lot easier spotting ground targets in the Ka-50 + I did a P-51D vs Dora dogfight. Without using any FOV zoom. I didn't have any problem spotting and tracking him, it was even easier to track him when he was masked by the terrain. On the downside, using my settings, The FPS were around 30, max 50 and never dropping below 20, not the best, but playable. Anyone tried this out yet? What do you guys think?
  5. That + He has a 2560x1440 resolution display, makes it easier to see stuff.
  6. Why not give it a try? You can speed time up and check if it will happen and when. Maybe it will even be listen in the briefing.
  7. Asus GTX 680 2GB DirectCU II TOP
  8. Definitely something needed besides TARS in this community. Thanks for this :)
  9. Thanks for the video of that Mi-8 Mike. Still after all this time, I find something new about DCS that I really like. Thanks ED! :) I didn't try it, but I think it should be possible. Go ahead and try and report your findings :)
  10. Well, never thought landing on water might be modeled in DCS, that's why I'm a bit confused.
  11. Last night I was flying on a server with an A-10C. I got shot by a strela and both of my engines died. I made a late turn towards land, so I landed about 50 meters off shore in water. What was shocking to me is that I actually did land, I didn't "blow up". Just wondering if this is a bug or are landings on water possible in DCS I did sink after landing though :)
  12. That's it, I'm starting BS1 to give this a try :) Thanks for the reply!
  13. I remember reading somewhere (maybe in the manual) that there is a real life radio modeled on our map. I think it should be in Krasnodar and supposedly tuning to the right frequency with an FM radio, you can listen to it. It's a dumb question, but it's been eating at me the whole day. I'm positive I've read it somewhere. Anyone?
  14. Thank you for the answer. Was searching for it but couldn't find it. :pilotfly:
  15. While playing with the mission editor, I've noticed that an AI huey never uses his side gunners while in combat. Is this normal? Is there any way to make an AI huey use his side gunners?
  16. Careful with the predictions :music_whistling:
  17. Only now had I noticed this thread. I'm having the same problem as some of you guys. I didn't have the problem until 1.2.7 arrived. And btw, the problems are called "Timeout detection and Recovery" (TDR), you can read more about it here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff570087(v=vs.85).aspx and here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/389688/geforce-drivers/nvidia-statement-on-tdr-errors-display-driver-nvlddmkm-stopped-/ While trying to troubleshoot this issue, I've noticed that my VRAM is sometimes getting close to full when a TDR happens, but that's not always the case. Plus besides having VRAM, most of us have about 2 more GBs of shared system memory for the GPU in case it is needed. I'm quite sure this is an ED problem and the dated engine of DCS and doesn't have much to do with faulty hardware. This is my hardware: Asus P8Z68-V/GEN3 Intel i5 2500K @ 4.5Ghz with Corsair H80i water cooling G.Skill Sniper 9-9-9-24-1.25V 1600Mhz 2x4GB (8GB) ram Intel 330 series 180GB SSD Asus GTX680 Direct CU II TOP 2GB Corsair TX750V2 PSU 750W Windows 7 SP1
  18. Read these articles, to get an idea on how the autopilot and trimming works in the Ka-50. What is best for aerobatics will be simple to figure out after the reading. Oh and read everything in the series. http://www.simhq.com/_air13/air_429a.html http://www.simhq.com/_air13/air_428a.html
  19. Nah, never turn off your autopilot. Just go into flight director mode.
  20. Well if you have your cannon "on", you will see the crosshair for it, regardless of having reset your targeting system or not. And you will not see your speed indication on the HUD.
  21. I'm getting TDRs since the new 1.2.7 update. My screen goes black for about 5 seconds max, then recovers. I doubt the overclock of my processor could have an effect. I've done a prime95 blend test. It was stable for over 14 hours. And never had the problem before 1.2.7. Only happens in DCS. When I tried it out in BF4, never happened. Does anyone have the same problem? System specs are: Asus P8Z68-V/GEN3 Intel i5 2500K @ 4.5Ghz with Corsair H80i water cooling G.Skill Sniper 9-9-9-24-1.25V 1600Mhz 2x4GB (8GB) ram Asus GTX680 Direct CU II TOP 2GB Corsair TX750V2 PSU 750W Windows 7 SP1
  22. Ok, problem is now solved. Thanks Mike!
  23. I tried doing the calibration. But it only asked me to calibrate my joystick and not my throttle.
  24. Hmmm, guys, can I get some help. I tried using the 1.13V and I get the stick calibration. But I need to calibrate my throttle because I exchanged the sliders potentiometer.
