  1. great video. Got me all fired up to get in the shark again. Also got me dreaming about flying the ka-52 and Mi-28 in DCS some day. We can only hope.

  3. updater is not working. I deleted the log file and ran the updater with repair. It goes through a quick version check, runs and 800k update and says all is well. It keeps me at 1.2.5. Looks like its going to be a long night.

  5. Interested to understand what this is all about. Engagement range of ground units has been adjusted. Does that mean the arty units arent going to open up on their own at 10km anymore or is this regarding how ground units engage air units.... Any ideas? Also the harsh comments about KA-50 seen above in my opinion are uncalled for. "Slap in the face...." come on... really? . Lets be a little more tactful about how you present and maybe you will get better results. When the Mi-8 comes out now you will have a real reason again to fly the Ka... escort missions, downed pilots, coordinated air landings for the russians etc. Be happy we have a world class helo game to fly even though it has been around now for a while it is still the benchmark.

  7. Like this update with the A-10A. to me the A version levels the playing field for servers as in my opinion its a closer fit to the Su-25T.

  12. AI Artillery units become aware of enemy units at ranges beyond visual and will open fire at 10km. Is there a way to shorten this distance. Sorry if this is a repeat but I couldnt find another post related to this.
  13. well they must have tweeked it because I had to adjust my joystick settings to get rid of the sluggishness in roll and pitch. I also seem to be able to rotate my head further to see behind.
  14. Two things 1. Like the new SU-25 flight model. Gives a real sense of weight and inertia now. If vapor trails were working would most likely see them with high AOA that can be achieved. 2. Like the new 6DOF. I can actually see the seat in the su25 now when looking back over the wing. Nice. Thanks ED Cant wait for the DCS 25SM some day :-) One more thing also noted in the download 1.4 gig but at just of 1 gig went into update mode. Did we get the whole thing?
  15. I dont believe that youtube clip is the official DCS 27sm. I believe that was a user hacking into flaming cliffs and trying to make his own. I dont think there has been any official updates from the 3rd party that is doing this (let alone identifying who they are).

  17. Man if only that arty script worked (broken due to ED wanting to have arty with a line of site of 10km).
  18. one way to possibly deal with this is look at the health of the vehicle. If it has 50% of its health you spawn 50% of the infantry. Just a thought. Right now we have unlimited infantry until the vehicle gets taken out.
  19. great work mbot. Can you provide a test mission? edit I got this to work and I must say this is one of the best script ever for dcs. I had a platoon of truck with mortars go against an apc that dismounts inf. This worked with Combined arms so when I took control of the vehicle and kept my speed under 10, the inf advanced in front of me whereever I went. Great! edit After playing with this script for about 2 hours now I have to say that it has truly changed the face of this game. Now you can bring in all sorts of infantry elements into missions. I played with a full company of infantry backed by transports and attacked several towns. It was a bit tricky to get the vehicle formations to behave correctly with all the inf spawning in front and behind them but once you get the hang of it is you can have significant sized infantry attacks taking place. Now weapons that were once static can now be moved, placed and brought into the fight, in particular mortars. I hope you will consider adding more unit level formations including 3 and 4 man tank crews that could bail out when vehicles are hit. ED we also need more infantry types including javelin or at least light nato anti-tank weapons. We definitely need downed pilots!!

  21. Finally someone is adding some realism. Thanks guys for doing this. Im tired of people firing all their weapons then bailing out so they can respawn and jump into another plane.
