  6. Im really interested to see how the DCS f18 is going to fit in with the current product line in multiplayer missions. In particular how the radar and avionics(assuming DCS means the same level of fidelity as the A-10C) will fit the the overly simplified radars of FC3. Will this aircraft have a distinct advantage over FC3 aircraft in multiplayer (and quite possibly a distinct disadvantage in certain ways, ie ease of operation in an FC3 plane versus the F-18 for instance). Will we see the formation of DCS aircraft only servers vs FC3 servers?

  8. Actually I think the Su-25A comes with FC3 and is not free. The Su-25T is the free one and does not have a 6DOF cockpit. I believe both now have the AFM though.
  9. Much more enjoyable to fly now. Can actually hover it. Landing is still a trick but I need more practice. Would love to get MI-8pilots opinion on it since he just flew the real one recently. I would expect its more stable than the real one but the learning curve is not as steep now.

  11. Interesting thread and a couple of questions; 1. For you RL mil pilots, would you actually use a HARM88 to take out a small mobile system like a shilka or a tanguska. I thought they were more for static radar sites. Even though the radar turns off the missile can guide to the location. 2. Why not use the high altitude GBU approach to take out the tanguska. In the past that often proved effective and you can load up a big load of 500 lbs gbu bombs. Obviously this depends on what other defenses are in the area but if its just tanguskas or tors it should work.
  12. A couple of questions now. Have you ever watched a movie trailer and then gone to the movies because of that trailer or do you just go sight on seen? If I have a hamburger joint and I take a picture of a dressed up version of the burger I sell which is a close representation of that burger that should be legit. If I take a picture of a chicken burger and I dont sell chicken burgers then thats a problem. Trailers are meant to entice people to try the product. We are no longer the audience because we have bought it. This is for new customers and it should represent what they get, especially if they are paying for it. If I picked up DCS world because I saw that A-10 cockpit Id be a little pissed but alas it was free so Im not too upset. I would be upset to learn I have to dish out another $40 to get that cockpit however if I wasnt prepared for it. Hence the DCS trailer should only show the Su-25T cockpit(not the Su-25) and any outside shot of any aircraft because I would in fact see them even though Im not flying them. Big difference. Dont get me wrong I love this product, I just dont want ED to have issues with false advertising.
  13. My opinion is that vid is a little misleading. They need to remove all scenes of BS, Huey, and A-10C cockpits. Makes it look like that is part of FC3.
  14. Playing multiplayer with 1.2.4 I randomly crash to Desktop. Is there a log I should send. If so where do I find it.
  15. this also happened to me with a t-80. It was spectacular to watch as I cut my way through a city spewing out HE shells like a machine gun. fun to watch but not practical. Restarting the mission stopped the firing.
  16. Instead of starting a new thread, every module has its own bug report thread. Why don't you start there to see what the issues are. Please close this thread. Its a waste.
  17. After flying the Huey for a little bit, I have a new found appreciation for the KA-50 and what DCS has delivered. The feeling of mass and power in the KA is definitely noticeable and the benefits of twin rotor stability is clearly evident. I love them both (The KA much more than I use to) and look forward to mastering them. Makes me more excited to see other new titles like MI-28 and apache.
  18. wow this machine is a beast. Makes flying the KA look like a walk in the park. One thing Im finding is its extremely important to tune your joystick axis' to the style of flying. Im working on the proper combination of deadzone and curve to come up with smooth stick control. Out of the box its super sensitive. Landing is still on my to do list :-).
  19. Great news Wags. Information whether its good or bad is way better than no information at all. Now we wont have to thumb through 100 threads (exaggerated) on people speculating as to why something is not released.
  20. Id bet on Wednesday. If Friday they said they are still squashing bugs, I doubt they did much over the weekend so they wont role into Monday bug free.
  21. testers, any update on multiplayer and 2 people in the helo. Pilot, Door gunner. Or is it still one person moving from station to station.

  23. Im getting alot of platform shake from vehicles that are moving. That is the main issue. Stopping it and setting the break defeats the purpose. Guns dont appear to be stablized. Try firing a bradley main gun on the fly.
  24. Its even worse if you look in detail at the path it creates on bridges. At the entrance to the bridge the game has the AI doing a loop back at the entrance to the bridge so your whole column will get in a huge jam if the group is too big. What Ive found to work is place a waypoint on each side of the bridge. When the group approaches the bridge slow them down to under 10km so they pass slowly to negotiate the jam.
  25. the V key does not seem to be making any difference in 1.2.3 when firing on the move. Modern tanks should have almost fully stabilized main guns. I dont see a difference when pressing V.
