 i really enjoyed watching it mate - this 25T landing front wheel first is good stuff - just shows how good lockon is in terms of simulating stuff. -
FYI i know the guy refered to in this thread very well and most of you know him too from hyperlobby. you know him as a guy who will fly with you gunzo or other missions when online, easy going, relaxed and certainly not as a guy who becomes agrevated and angry when he looses. No, he does not mind loosing, he is there for the fun and enjoyment of playing the sim together with other members of this small community and when he gets shot down, he is not shy of acknowledging a good fight, good flight, good kill - he does it with a laugh and a smile, eager to get back up into the virtual air to have another flight. He has been into flight sims also for a very long time and ever since he started with this hobby, gunzo and close dogfight has been his personal area of interest and hence over the years he has become very very good at it. One thing contributing to his skill is that he doesnt rest on his laurels and continuously tries to improve and learn new stuff - perhaps this is what distinguishes him from a lot of us. he has put a lot of hours of thinking and practice into it and constantly works on refining his flying skills. to the respective person: the screenshot you have with the communication between you and him which apparently prooves that this guy is cheating, flying with externals etc doesnt tell anything apart from what has been mentioned above and also that you may take this whole thing a bit too serious - relax mate. to come up with an accusations or even to hint towards the possibility of cheating without any proof cause someone got beat, is completely inappropriate. things like this and the thinking that "we are the ants pants" is one aspect driving this already small community apart. I believe that most of us are here for the fun and enjoyment, so please make your contribution in order to maintain and enhance this important aspect. last but not least: as said before, i know the guy very well and i know him as already described above. he has no reason to change, modify, alter the game to give him an advantage over others. he is there for the fun and changing things like what has been mentioned as a possibility in this thread would make it boring for him. cheers, :pilotfly: S77th-NotiA10

A.S. would it be possible to upload these tackview files mentioned? it be interesting to see what you mean. thanks mate, cheers, :pilotfly: S77th-NotiA10

Lockon feud: 25T pilots call A10 pilots a noobs
NotiA10 replied to mcnab's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
i dont know what the trigger is for this over and over arising discussion which plane is better or worse and which is harder to fly, etc etc. Maybe some feel that they are better if they pilot the more difficult to fly plane ? am not a phsychologist so am not going to go there. i am certainly not an a10 specialist since i have never actually flown it nor am i a 25 or 25T specialist, since i have not flown one of the either - in real life that is. fact is that these planes differ from the design point of view (e.g, they look different - or ?) which leads me to the assumtion that they also handle different or at least should. personally i am an A10 fan but every now and then i fly the 25 and the 25T for a change and i dont think that overall either plane is less or more capable then the other it just depends what you are supposed to do and how you do it. in the 25 and the 25T you can strafe columns with the gun, you can kill tanks with the gun, you can fly in tight circles and yes you can climb a lot faster then the A10. to line up 40kms just to land the frog is absolute rubbish. for all those people who feel to be in a disadvantage flying one particular plane i have some food for thought: accept it, change it or leave it !!! Cheers, :pilotfly: S77th-NotiA10 -

try coming in from the south  she should lock. there was one mission on the 504 server with targets at gelenzik (a couple of strelas, tanks and bmps) and we had to had to come in from the south all the time in order to get the lock. let me know if it worked. cheers :pilotfly: S77th-NotiA10 -

i agree laud - however - the thing is its already to easy its not really possible to make it much easier

got mine set a lod = 5,0 for the ground objects but the objectfog para is at 0,6. that must be the stock setting - however is there no way of changing the colour from black to say a green or a brown if they are not within the lod distance ?
-
thx teka gonna give it a shot edit: its already set to 0.6 that seems to be stock - i never changed it in my gfx config :pilotfly: S77th-NotiA10
-
Hi Teka, would it be possible for you to create a mod which sort of changes the colours of the lod far model for the ground objects so the blend in a bit more with the surroundings and are thus not so easily detectable from 10 or more miles ? if it is possible to do this, it would be cool and it would make things a bit more realistic for the groundpounders. cheers mate :pilotfly: S77th-NotiA10

there are horses for courses. i just mentioned it today on the lockonfiles forum although in a slightly different context. two different types of planes with a different concept behind them. nevertheless, both require a certain environment to be able to accomplish its mission and to operate as intended. in both cases air supperiority to a more or lesser extend is an essential part without risking to be shot down. yes the 25T is good when it comes to take out med/long range sams but there is no real big advantage of an kh58 if the radar (e.g. tor system or tung) can only be detected from approx 15 miles or less. you still have to get within the detection zone in order to launch the missiles (at least this is how it is in the game). up against those (again at least in the game) the a10 is just as able. when it comes down to manpads both are just as likely to be shot with a slight advantage for the a10 in terms of getting the pilot and the plane home. the a10 has certainly proven to be a very able and valuable plane and i think that there is no shortage of prove. knowing its limitations and abilities when planning is of the same importance as with anything else - whether it be ground units, infantry, helos, fighters, rifles etc .... :pilotfly: S77th-NotiA10

A-10 Campaign: Crimean Countenance
NotiA10 replied to Highwayman-Ed's topic in User Created Missions General
Hi Colt, Your comments and your suggestions are valid to a certain degree especially if the computer the missions are running on is not the most powerfull one (like mine). Anyhow, two things: a.) highway has a very powerfull computer 6800, in the very near future i think that a lot more people will be able to run missions like that properly b.) highway tried to mimic a realistic scenario, rather than just having the grounds units and just the once u need to take out, he added additional once which may not have a direct impact however what they do is add complexity (maybe sometimes confusion) - same with the additional airplanes although they do have a function. if you divert from your planned route you will most likely be engaged by migs :smilewink:. also the additional units/planes which do not have a function are supposed to make the whole scenario more lifely. hope you have some fun with the missions - let us know how you find locating the targets and taking them out. catch u soon, :pilotfly: S77th-NotiA10 -
no stress mate - a couple of weeks up or down are no prob - but if you can some pit screens would be cool. cheers :pilotfly: NotiA10

Do convoys behave like this in "Real Life" ??
NotiA10 replied to Zoltar's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
its not just about taking out units - yes this could be one target - the other though could be to protect your own units and a goal could be "x numbers of your units must survive" hence ground AI is important. it is this aspect of "survivability" which adds to the game play experience for both A2G and A2A.
