  1. Errors pointing towards a GPU disconnect and stops rendering, this may be due to you having the Oculus software loaded but no device connected (Only a hunch). GPU Errors: Also reporting corruption or outdated files with the Fx and metashader stuff: I would try deleting your .. User\Documents\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\fxo, metashaders and metashaders2 folders and let DCS rebuild them, will take a while on you next startup. If that doesn't resolve, I would wait until you get your oculus hooked up to see if that fixes anything. You might also try, backing up your User\Documents\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta complete directory some where and then deleting it so DCS can rebuild a fresh copy of things to see if the fault resides some where with in the files there. (This will put all of your logbook and aircraft controls back to default, so make sure you backup and can copy paste back the needed things later if need be). Regards, Ian.
  2. oh so sad, I hope those other aircraft are pensioned off to the bone yard and lovingly kept ready for another day. Loved the video, well done. Cheers, Ian.
  3. Always ground speed I belief, so you have to take into account what altitude you place your tanker at. I just guess a bit here and there, sometime I do the conversions properly but not often.
  4. Probably could help out here (as a last resort as I am a bit busy these days), so to be clear you want an Air to Air Refueling mission done that is compatible with the DCS A-10c v1.1.1.1. Find mission attached, nothing flash, just the basics Regards, Ian. AAR for A-10c_1111.miz
  5. Just to clear this up, I think you may be confusing the two training packages for the L-39. Firstly, the L-39 Aircraft module you purchase initially has a basic training package of 8 missions, this one does not have any English voice overs in any of the missions, it is all Russian voice overs regardless of locale (EN, RU, CN, CS, DE), so unless some one records them into English and adds them you can't ever get English voice instructions in the game. Secondly, the L-39 DLC (Kursant) training package of 11 missions at $9.99 does indeed have both English and Russian voice overs in all missions, so I assume if you have an English install of DCS you will get English Voice instructions, if you have a Russian install of DCS you will get all Russian voice instructions. Thirdly, I am not too sure on how you might force an English version of DCS to use all Russian voice and subtitle instructions in a mission if you so desired, I thought you would do it in the "Mission Planner" were you can choose the locale you want EN or RU, IE: it works for the next briefing page when you change to RU, the title and briefing are all in Russian, but when you get into the aircraft the briefing is all back in English and so are the voice instructions. (I will attempt to get to the bottom of this). With most training packages you can't always use your hotas or keyboard keys to do stuff, it is deliberatly disabled until you do what is asked of you in the training, then the next control will be enabled and so forth. Regards, Ian.
  6. Well it isn't exactly that easy, but not that much harder with the new multi-language support provided with dcs since dcs 1.5 and now in most missions, it is a lot easier, just to re-record the texts using your own or someone elses english voices and attach the new voice overs to another language that will automatically play the correct ones based on what version of language is appropriate for locale being it Russian, English, French or others. Simple way of Doing it: Must have the willingness to take it on, and spend sometime doing it. Use a tool called MZedit (By Uboat) from the ED user file section of Website to extract all messaging in a mission to a text file to get all the subtitle texts in an easy to read format for the reading script. Set up some simple recording software, Audacity is popular for this, you can then record your voice for each message to a separate .wav or .ogg files, using the same names as the originals that come with the mission. This is the tricky part, ie: when the sound files are created, using a zip viewer, open the actual mission file and copy from the Mods\aircraft\L-39C\Missions\Training\L39-Training-1-Start-Taxi-TO.miz\l10n\DEFAULT directory all .wav or .ogg and "mapResource" files to the Mods\aircraft\L-39C\Missions\Training\L39-Training-1-Start-Taxi-TO.miz\l10n\RU directory. Now copy your new sound .wav or .ogg files to the Mods\aircraft\L-39C\Missions\Training\L39-Training-1-Start-Taxi-TO.miz\l10n\DEFAULT directory. Close the mission file and run DCS to enjoy you new voice overs in english voices for english users and Russian can still have the old russian voice overs. Regards, Ian.
  7. I have similar results with 32gb of ram also, but not exactly the same, as I am editing missions on a daily basis doing the exact process of steps 1 to 7, I get random crashes or freeze, but mainly when I attempt to run the same mission a second time and also when I finish a mission it will hang. Most of the issues happen more frequently if you use the F-10 map view a lot whilst in mission, which I do to check that AI aircraft and vehicles are doing their assigned tasks correctly, do this and it hangs on exit more, don't use the F-10 map exits more normally. Example: From memory, using different plane modules creates different outcomes: When working on Su-25T campaign missions, crash on second runs all the time and freezing more often than not when exiting mission. When working on UH-1H single missions, even with F-10 map view usage no crashes or freezing. These issues have been going on for a long time for me with all versions of DCS 2.0 to 2.5 OA, OB and Tester versions, it is highly annoying to try and develop missions with, but I can't nail it down enough to report issue to be fixed. Regards, Ian.
  8. I had a look at some of the other F-5e missions the other day, and I must say that the way they play out in my testing, didn't make any sense or even work as advertised. I was using the AI to fly as me to see how it went and the AI F-5e didn't engage anything, just fly out, had a look and returned to land. I did notice they used a lot of advanced waypoint commands to push commands, harder to follow on what aircraft would be doing, compared to simple triggers. Left fixing them, due to time involved to work them out. Regards, Ian.
  9. Any user can edit the missions that come with any ED aircraft module by default, the bought DLC campaigns you can not. I have already corrected this and the other Su-25T missions previously in DCS v1.5 and are posted on the ED user download site (These are somewhat different to the games included versions), however I am sure they will have to have other issues corrected due to the DCS v2.5 updates. I know they worked better than the originals at the time I tested them on v1.5. I did a quick test of Presents mission and still works quite well, all aircraft do their duties still, so here is a link to the missions sets I have done in the past, Su-25T single missions has the ones your after. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/?PER_PAGE=20&set_filter=Filter&arrFilter_pf%5Bfiletype%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Bgameversion%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Bfilelang%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Baircraft%5D=&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&CREATED_BY=MadDog-IC&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC These are in my work schedule for DCS 2.5, but so are a lot of other missions, so it is impossible to know when I may take it on. Regards, Ian.

  12. Here is a version coming to DCS 2.5 soon, play this till then, corrected to look and feel very much as the original, some horrible weather and fog in it, this is how I remembered it years ago when I first played it in DCS 1.216, played through with DCS 2.5 about 4 times with this one, on two occasions I got totally lost due to the poor visability and high winds blowing me off course. https://www.dropbox.com/s/0c9jfgxx92ydnnb/DCSW%20-%20UH-1H%20Single%20Missions%20%28Patch%20To%20Game%29%20%28v2.5x%29.zip?dl=0 Regards, Ian.
  13. I have reported similar issues already, I am trying to get the UH-1h Elbrus rescue mission working properly, I was programming the human flight to be flown by AI and do the mission as a human would, I can get the chopper to land at the summit and take off again, it half works back at the FARP for the drop off, the chopper lands triggering the ambulance rescue, but alas it will not take off again, although it meets all flag requirements, and even if it is just set to wait 30seconds it still sits there indefinitely (This issue is also reported). Chopper is working better in ED internal version, but still is not 100%. Regards, Ian.
  14. Just to confirm, this is the version I made for DCS 2.5 and only listed in this forum and not the DCS 1.5 version in current game or off the User download site ??? Have checked and corrected the "FC3-F15C-00.miz (Fam flight)" and reuploaded to the dropbox link, slight programming error on my part when I added the requirement to land at end of flight, a trigger zone that I added for the landing check at Vaziani AFB was inadvertantly place over Tbilisi airfield instead. Just re-download the patch from this forum, I will organise the same patch to ED for release some time in the future. Cheers.
  15. On my growing list of many missions to look at.
  16. Does that freeze happen the instant you go to F10 map or just sometime later ??? The reason I ask, is I have similar issues when running the same mission more than once in succession (Usually testing missions with AI doing the flying why I watch different events in the F-10 map, swapping between aircraft and vehicle views to check aircraft attacks and ground units positions on the ground). The two result are: Usually a crash of DCS (Stopped working and back to Desktop) on the second or third run of the same mission, (Running from the Mission Editor), varies between DCS updates, sometimes it does it, some times not. Usually a crash of DCS when mission is actually completed successfully and your exiting back to the mission editor (Lockup - requiring Task manager shutdown) when just about any mission is run, even just once, this always happens if you have used the F10 Map at any stage, not so much if you haven't used the F10 map view. The lockup on mission exit has been a long standing issue with me over various patch version of DCS 2.5, its very annoying for developing on, but I haven't been able to resolve it, no matter how many changes I have made to drivers, pagefiles, cleanups, repairs, deleting saved games folder, metashaders and all of the other tricks about. Have also seen long writes to drives, but haven't noted under what circumstances. One thing I have noticed on my system that is odd, when playing with the pagefile, is it is currently set to "System managed - 2.5gb" but when I have DCS running Afterburner reports approx 10gb of pagefile being used, but the pagefile on the hdd doesn't every change in size from 2.5gb (Everything I ever understood about pagefile use was that windows would up the file size if required when the system is managing it, clearly it isn't) Regards, Ian.
  17. Just to let you know, these reports don't always go un-noticed, I am having a look at those A-10a The Valley Campaign missions for the issues mentioned as well as any others I might find. Being hard to play (How you kill them) isn't always deamed a problem with the mission, unless you have the obvious issues you have mentioned about targets being hidden, inside buildings or trees. Will give you some more feed back as I progress, but no time frame sorry. Will be moving all units out of forests and roof tops this week from all missions. I do however try to leave each mission as close as possible to the original, so I wouldn't move targets out of city, just because the buildings make it hard to get an angle shot. Regards, Ian.
  18. Short answer to your question is: A great deal of the missions I have posted on the USER download sight are exactly the same as the in game version of today. Some missions however are not the same as the ones in the game now, I have provided most, if not all of my modified missions and campaigns to ED at some time, but ultimately they decide what happens to them after that, some they used as is, some they don't and do their own updates, some they used and have now overwritten with an older buggy copy. Not to sound arrogant but I could say that my copies will out perform those of the same missions in the DCS game that haven't been updated in any form by me, ED or any other 3rd party but ALL missions will still be broken in some way with DCS 2.5 and require some form of adjustments, that is just how it is. This is a complex issue, I will express my point of view as a so called developer, even though all the missions are originally EDs work, my original work was for myself and to bring the old A-10c, Ka-50, Su-25T modules up to date after oking it with ED themselves, but was later invited to help ED on some other modules (FC3 campaigns). Eagle dynamics are ultimately responsible for their products, by nature I am a simple end user like the rest of you on these forums, I however also dislike playing DCS with missions that I have played and know to have no chance of working correctly. The user mods I have posted have been a labor of love for the game with many 1000s of hours over a few years dedicated to the meticulous sifting through of every aspect of the missions, to ensure they fully work. This work can be undone in a heart beat, with one simple update patch, with some change in a behaviour of missiles, SAM systems, missile positions on the aircraft rails, weather conditions, time of day, broken triggers, and others to numerous to mention. So any work I or anyone else does can only be guaranteed to work on the exact same version of DCS at the time it was developed and tested with, any thing past that is questionable. All my work was based on DCS 1.216, once fully tested to work on that, the missions were imported to DCS 1.5 when available and once again modified and checked to work, this required fairly minor adjustments, but it is still time consuming, with the DCS 2.5 there are massive changes that will affects all aspects of all missions ever made for DCS, particulery based on the caucasus map. With major changes such as going from DCS 1.216 to DCS 1.5 made quite a few missions problematic, but also gave us some tools to fix issues present in the previous version, and now with DCS 2.5 with new lighting systems that is affection time of day lighting and most likely lock on issues with missile seekers and TV systems and a new caucusas map, that is quite different to the original with shifted positions of whole map and greater amount of forested terrain means that every active and static ground target has to be checked and possible moved to make mission usable. Even my previously supplied missions that they used have had other work done on them by others to include the Multi language upgrades for Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Korean, this alone has created a bad situation for me, as ED can be actively changing the same missions in parallel with me changing mine, only to have two copies of the same mission that aren't easily merged, with out a ton of more work on someones part, mine or theirs. This is a current problem with me working on mission versions supplied from ED in the latest DCS 2.5 that I had corrected previously a 6-12 months before, but obviously aren't my work, they don't have my signature tell tales and the mission have the old issues that I had already corrected. The current state of DCS 2.5 missions means it is impossible to devote the hours required to perfect missions, but just to band aid repair issues reported, personally for every issue reported I can find an extra 5-10 other issues with most missions, these are core problems that will be in every mission regardless. To sum up, I could write a book about the problems with missions, the mission editor and the like, but I would still like to thank all at Eagle Dynamics for making a fine product in the first place, even if it does cause me a lot of head aches. I would also like to also acknowledge the tireless work other dedicated people who are working towards the improvement of all facets of DCS. Kind Regards All, Ian.
  19. Here is quick example, embark doesn't work, hasn't for a while. Two infantry on 30 FM and 35 FM, with mission editor homing will not work unless you give it an audio file to play for the beacon, I have included ELT-tone.ogg in mine, can't miss the sound very annoying, will have to turn your volume down on radio in huey. Regards, Ian Test - UH-1H radio beacon.miz
  20. Only taking a stab at it: Seems to have some problems with the harrier module mostly, some other errors are usually present in everyones DCS logs. Can only suggest the defaults: DCS clean and repair options to remove any mods and check for corruption and or uninstall the harrier AV8bna module and reload it. Temporarily rename you saved games folder for DCS and let it build fresh ones that you can test with. Regards, Ian.
  21. Can't help with you issue sorry, but the AI is really retarded with its flying if any enemy air defence systems are in the area, the AI will usually keep flying evasively until the SAM or AAA is taken down by you or something else. They very rarely will attack it themselves. Regards, Ian.
  22. I have similar play methodology to you, my eye sight sucks, so I compromise, I still use labels, but some time ago I modified them so that show only a single character when getting close, ie for a ground unit it might be @ or # and for aircraft a ^, this gives you some aid, but still difficult to find. DCS has implemented a more complex system for managing the label views, but I haven't fiddled with it yet, it allows you to progressively offset and fade the label markers, so the closer you get to target the less you see. ie: Copy file from "..\DCS World 2 OpenBeta\Config\View\labels.lua" to "..\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\View\labels.lua" and modify to suit your own formula. Regards, Ian.
  23. Only thing I can see strange is that you have a NvAPI init error (Nvidia API), but your running an ATI graphics card, did you switch graphics cards and drivers recently, if so did you use DDU to clear out the older drivers before installing the ATI card. Have you tried: Installing DCS as admin and / or Running DCS as admin. Removing any third party mods (DCS_updater.exe clean) Renaming you saved games folder and letting DCS create a new one or just renaming just the missioneditor folder within the saved games folder and letting DCS create a new one Running (DCS_updater.exe repair) to check for corrupt files. Addressing the mentioned issue above about having some sort of nvidia driver still loaded when running ATI card. For any one to help, will need to know more about your system specs and things you have tried or done to your system recently, we have no idea if your just updated to DCS 2.5 from a fresh install or have been running it for a while with out issues, did you do a fresh install of 2.5, did you upgrade from DCS 1.5 to 2.5. Regards, Ian.
  24. Same debate has been going on for A-10c and the mavericks for a while, I and others queried ED about it and they came back with no fault, working as it should, I am no expert so I can't dispute it. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=204350 Regards, Ian.
