  1. It is hard enough keeping up to date without all the completely random off topic stuff, with it is impossible :(
  2. I am not sure where Razbam devs are based, but in some countries $160 is a lot more due to local economy and exchange rate. Nice looking vids so far!
  3. Are the minimum specs posted anywhere? Will this be better optimized than current, and need a more intensive machine? (I would suspect the latter)
  4. Incredible that it is so well rendered, almost Easter Egg like!
  5. Agree with the guys here, I had this issue occur 3 times with various GPU's over my long gaming history. Every time it was an EW for a GPU failure or PSU failure!
  6. Y2K all over again.
  7. Any idea guys? Should I not be able to fire BVR at over 8.5nm with an AIM 120?
  8. I do actually. Thanls Ill check it later!
  9. Here's what I am doing: Press I Press 2 Look for target Lock target Wait for launch tone Launch Missile is terminal straight away and I do not get launch tone above 8.5nm ish. I attached a trk! EDIT: So what I am asking is, why am I only getting launch tone at such a short range? Seems it is not BVR at all! BVR FAIL.trk
  10. Hey, I am using a MM setup. It works fine except there is a weird tone difference on right side of main monitor. Outside of DCS no issue. See attached ss. Any ideas??
  11. TrakIR software MUST be open prior to launching the game or it will not work, hence why alt tabbing and turning it off did not work the way you wanted it. I have set NUMPAD keys as my pause, center and precision buttons, thus freeing my radio keys. I suggest you do the same. I tried the TRAP option OFF and it does not seem to work for the F keys for radio, strange! Simple solution though: change the keys!
  12. Thanks for the info! Can you explain cranking a bit more? I thought going low then bursting high would bleed more missile energy as well? Maybe this is why I have such a low dodge rate! Then again optically tracked is harder to dodge, correct? EDIT: Is this what you mean? Beaming is putting a missile, or SAM, on your 3 oclock or 9 oclock position (to either side of your aircraft). The idea is to try to keep it there. By doing this, you are forcing that missile to make constant adjustments in direction in order to chase you down. Over time, this bleeds (or runs) out energy from that missile, and it slowly falls behind your aircraft the closer it gets to you.
  13. Hey guys, Quick confirmation on using missiles and what not in the 15! 1. When against an SU 27 going head on level flight they always get a launch off before my 120's (tried all variants) even get a first lock (Cannot remember terminology, but it is the lock zone that only guarantees a hit if the target does not maneuver). From what I understand this is a bug (<10NM range on slammers in DCS). What I usually do is wait until I can get a lock, fire 1 or 2 slammers then break 90 degrees and dive hard dropping chaff/flare. Their missile always hits me, mine never hits them. What is best practice here? 2. I am pretty sure I do not need to...but...Do I need to keep the target in my lock zone until the missile detonates? I am pretty sure I do not....but said I would check anyway...(This is for Slammers, Sidewinders and Sparrows?) Cheers!
  14. I opened this all excited...misread the title as F15D. Hehe. Looks good either way, well done!
  15. The MG's have very short range. Why are you so close? The only times I've been hit by an MG is when I attack something else and do not see them. Watch the replay from external view, those MG's and BMP's do an awful lot of missing before they actually hit you. The problem is you are in the kill zone too long I would guess!
  16. Is this only affecting the MIG or other aircraft? (Please list, might make more sense then to someone who knows more)
  17. Hey thanks for the quick response :) What I meant was, I could not hear them but my own 'voice' was still talking to them when I used F10 and they popped smoke when asked (even though I was not tuned to them). Is there a way for you to make them non-responsive unless you are tuned to their freq?
  18. Was playing this last night. Mission 3(downed chopper): I was unable to hear anything UZI said, however when I asked them to pop smoke they did (no reply) and whenever I asked them to confirm position my own voice responded to them like they had said something but they didn't. I didn't manually tune into them (I realized after) so maybe the scripting needs to be changed? Great fun so far though. One thing that would have been really handy:
  19. Just to confirm something: When you turn off emissions (lshift+i) it will no longer show you on an aircraft's rwr?
  20. Still a very good comment :)
  21. Not very up on the mechanics of how this works but shouldn't you get a launch warning for ANY launch regardless of whether or not it is aimed at you? EG: Friendly TOW missile being fired at an enemy tank on the ground. It detects the launch....or is it only the A10 system that gives that type of launch warning and the fighters have lock warning launches?
  22. Bit of a random question, just wondering.....
  23. I would love to use a TU - 22 BACKFIRE, but I would imagine the missions would be kinda boring....
  24. The worst part is, if they had continued (they waved off at the last second) they would have landed in the field! Do not read below if you have not flown the second mission yet as it will spoil it!
  25. Fantastic! I downloaded the original ages ago an never got around to playing it, just got it there and done the first 2 flights before work (sigh...work :P) I was on my way in to land after mission one when I noticed it was VERY loud in the cockpit, I looked out the window and saw the attached. It was scary to say the least :P Also, Go on the UnitedOperations.net. Tell DeathStrike I said hello (he will know the name Soupy_Norman)
