Next DCS (European) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
mjmorrow replied to Busterbvi's topic in DCS Core Wish List
How about a Hawker Hunter? She is a very aesthetically pleasing looking, highly nimble transonic, capable of giving a black eye to faster supersonic interceptors. She was used by many nations and fought in numerous wars. She sports four 30 mm cannons, four IR missiles, and robust air to ground capabilities. In terms of plane set match ups, she fills in the gap between the Sabre and the Phantom. Here is a link to a Hawker Hunter video: -
For my Vietnam War era collection, my virtual North Vietnamese pixel pilots will not turn down a Virtual People's Liberation Army Air Force supplied DCS Shenyang J-6. P.S. Speaking of supplies from the People's Liberation Army Air Force, when the Mig-15bis comes out, this Zhao Baotong skin will make a nice addition to the Korean War era skins:

I might swing a rig in the $700 to $800 range by October-ish, but I am not spending more money on a rig. I figure that I can get a computer that will end up on low settings, by the end of seven to ten years time. That is cool, by me. Low settings, in ten years, will be the high settings of today. I will see. I am on the fence about getting a rig, so soon. I was hoping to squeeze more time out of my current rig. Hey, I make breakfast on a cast iron pan that has been in my family for over one hundred years. :megalol: Just as long as I have a new rig by 2015 and the introduction of the Mig-15bis. I really want to sim-fly the F-86F and Mig-15bis in multiplayer. I want to do so on decent graphics settings, too. :smilewink:

Nice! :thumbup:That looks like the kind of computer I used in school, as a little kid, when we were learning Logo and trying to move that dang turtle around. :megalol:

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List

I would be great if Belsimtek made the SPAD. By 2018, I would love to see the SPAD, Fresco, Phantom, and Thud, all in DCS. I would definitely like Belsimtek to be behind the Fresco, if they could do a SPAD, that would be super cool, too. -
Oh, I appreciate all of the advice. I do. Given the fact that my computer is already seven or eight years old, with a Core 2 Duo processor and all, I am just better off saving up money, instead of upgrading my current rig. In a year or so, I should be able to get a computer, for $500 to $700, that should be able to handle my flight sim hobby needs for 8 to 10 years time. In the mean time, I hope that I will be able to play with my Sabre in single player or maybe in multiplayer, after Edge comes out. If I can't, then I can apply the money I would have spent on the Mig-21bis, Fw-190, and Mig-15bis, toward the purchase price of the new computer. Still, I really appreciate all of the advice.
-
Right now, upgrades aren't practical, especially for a seven or eight year old computer, running on a Core 2 Duo. :megalol: I am just going to save up, here and there, within a year or so I will easily have the funds to buy a whole brand new gaming rig that should serve my flight sim needs for a decade, or close to a decade. I can also use this time to do research on building my own rig, possibly saving me considerable time and money. It is no biggie. I just hope that I can play DCS World in single player or on a multiplayer map, for at least a year or two, while using my current rig. I just picked up the Sabre and I like the Sabre a whole lot. I was thinking of getting the Mig-21bis and the Mig-15bis, too. I will have to hold off on those purchases, if my rig can't handle the low end settings of Edge. I will see.
-
Yes, my computer is a bit of a...ahem....classic. :megalol: I am still going to keep it for atleast another year, though. I should technically keep it until it has a major failure. That is what I usually do with things. I just got rid of an air conditioner that was installed before I was born. It was installed in 1974 or something. I only got rid of it because it broke. My place has 1970's track lighting fixtures. I have a TV set that one of my relatives purchased back in 1986. I intend to keep it, till it breaks, then get a new 3d TV, virtual reality set, or add on a Holo deck, whichever is in vogue, when my RCA goes bye bye. :music_whistling: P.S. I hope that I can at least play single player, like I do now, when edge comes out. I would love to do that, till I get a new computer.
-
I actually have a Core 2 Duo processor, so all of these recommended updates may be a lot of effort for little pay off. I will just run this computer into the ground, save up my money, and get a new computer. If I can't run DCS, after Edge comes out, I will just hold off on buying add-ons, save that money and some other money, and I will get a new computer in a year or two. In a year or two, I should be able to get a computer for $500 to $700 that should be able to keep up with at least the low graphics settings of flight sims, for seven to ten years.
-
Hmm, well, thanks for the advice and info. I will wait till Edge comes out, before buying any add-ons. If, after Edge comes out, I can't run DCS World in single player and/ or multiplayer, I will just save the money I would have put into DCS add-ons and in a couple of years purchase a gaming computer. I can still run Rise of Flight. So I can use that as my sole multiplayer flight sim, for a couple of more years, worst comes to worst. :joystick: P.S. Too bad they can't make at least multiplayer maps that work with my system. I don't really care for single player and such. I am a multiplayer specialist.

When logging onto a multiplayer server, DCS stops working.

I am pretty sure that I have an OEM edition, so I don't think I can just upgrade. I have a laptop with 64 bit Windows 7, but DCS runs like a slide show on it. I am not going to spend money on a new OS or anything. I will just wait a couple of years. I hope that Edge will have laptops in mind and allow me to use my laptop or that there will be 32 bit OS support. Even though I can currently play with the DCS Sabre in single player, I can't really buy any additional add-ons, now. I am afraid that Edge will make even single player out of the question. I will just wait and see. If I get rationed out of the DCS market for a few years, I will save up the money I would have spent on DCS add-ons and other flight sim add-ons, then, in a couple of years, use that money to purchase a better gaming pc. -
As for the wish list, I would add support for 32 bit systems. At the time the P-51 was first released, my current pc, using 32bit Windows Vista, used to be able to run single player and multiplayer. Now I can only play in single player and I no longer meet current minimum specs. While I do have a lap top with 64 bit Windows 7, my lap top runs DCS with extremely poor frame rates, even on the lowest settings. There is no practical reason for me to go out and get a new pc, not for possibly several years time. I would greatly appreciate Edge allowing for 32 bit systems or creating settings that would run on laptops with 64bit systems. I would love to buy a new gaming PC, but I have no practical justification to purchase such a non essential luxury item. I would like to buy future add-ons, like the upcoming Mig-21bis or the Mig-15bis. Still, I have to wait for the release of Edge, in order to see if I can play with my current add-ons, at least in single player, otherwise I will have to stop playing DCS, for possibly a few years. Thanks for your consideration of my request.

Oh, that is too bad. So, I am kind of lucky that the Sabre works in single player, then. I am glad you alerted me to this. I was going to get another add-on, but I shouldn't push my luck, in case it does not work on my computer. Thanks for the help! -

It used to work for me. I used to play multiplayer, back when the P-51 first came out or around that time. -

Ok, so here are my specs and my log file is in the attachment. OS: Windows Vista 32 Bit CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8300 @ 2.83GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.8GHz Videocard: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti RAM: 3324 MB My Log.txt -
After the Mig-15bis, as much as I would like a cannon carrying Sabre, I think the next fixed wing Belsimtek plane should be a Mig-17F or a Mig-17PF. There are going to be a number of Vietnam era Blue rides added to DCS, such as the Super Sabre and A-7 Corsair II. We don't have any historical Red rivals for these rides. The Mig-17F or Mig-17PF is a historically appropriate and logical rival for the Blue machines flying between the mid 1950's and mid 1970's. The Mig-17 also benefitted from technology derived from both the F-86F Sabre and Mig-15bis Fagot-B, so it makes sense to create the plane that was influenced by both the Sabre and the Fagot.

When I try to log onto a server, from the server list, the game will start to load the mission, then it will always go to he dcs stopped working message. -
If Belsimtek ever makes another Sabre, forget the 20mm cannons and go for a CAC Sabre, with twin 30mm cannons. P.S. If cannons are your thing, wait till we get the Belsimtek DCS Mig-15bis. 23 mm cannons are the Fagot' s pea shooters. :)

Last weekend, every time I tried to get onto multiplayer I get a message telling me that Dcs stopped working. :cry:Is there a known fix for this? Thanks, ahead of time!
-
I really like all of the skins! I can't believe that the template is not out, yet there are so many great skins out, already. Even though we don't have a CAC Sabre, I can't wait to see some Sabers with kangaroos in their rondelles.
-
I really like the F-86F a lot. The F-8F is definitely my favorite current DCS ride, by far. I could see myself really falling for the Mig-15bis, too. I like that both machines are highly competitive with one another, yet they are not entirely the same. The Mig-15bis is going to bring something new to the table. She is a bomber interceptor, best adapted to climb particularly fast and bring down large multi-engine strategic bombers. When facing the Sabre, I am going to enjoy trying to leverage the advantages and mitigate the challenges of a machine best suited for downing B-29s. I don't know if I will like the Mig-15bis more than the F-86F, but I bet I will like the Mig-15bis, at least as much as I like the F-86F. I too can't wait to get my simulated hands on a Mig-15bis.
-
This is an excellent approach. When the Mig-15bis comes out, this is how I am going to lone wolf it with the Mig-15bis. I am going to try and pick off a bomber or a distracted Sabre, then climb for the rafters, up and out of reach of the Sabre sim pilots. If the Sabres and Fagots end up fighting on the deck in multiplayer, I am just going to ignore the fighters and focus exclusively on downing high altitude AI bombers. After all, the Fagot is a bomber interceptor, not a superiority fighter. When I want a pure bred fighter, for multiplayer, I will reach for our Sabre.
-
I haven't noticed any of that. Whenever I get to play again, I will have to check for that stuff. I think that on the highest difficulty setting, the Mig-15bis pilot should better take advantage of the climb rate advantage and keep things in the vertical. The Honcho pilot should climb out above all of the Sabres, before attacking, attack in high speed slashing ambush attacks, and climb away. If the AI can wait to attack an engaged Sabre and such, that would be neat. I think the Honchos should avoid low altitudes, favoring climbing into the nose bleed altitudes, when not attacking. :smilewink:
