The F-14s are going to be amazing. I am a super happy owner of the Mig-21bis. Wow, the Mig-21bis is one fantastic add-on! I can't wait to try the F-14s. :pilotfly:

The DCS Mig-21bis and the Bunny Fighter skin, put together, are about as much fun as a flight simmer can have! MJ

I am a visual learner, so I really appreciate videos and picture guides. Thanks a lot! MJ

Tkairshows, The Mig-17F is the jet I want most in DCS World. It is so cool that you are a real life Mig-17 Fresco pilot. Thank you for sharing your experience and insights, not to mention all of your neat Mig-17 pictures, too. :notworthy:  MJ

How do the Mig-15 multiplayer aces beat the Sabre jocks?
mjmorrow replied to mjmorrow's topic in DCS: MiG-15bis
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I am glad that I am finally doing something right. Most of my Sabre encounters up to the other day went something like this:https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UTIWhXnsmzI  Nice. I am going to incorporate all of your advice into my future multiplayer ramps. This info is very helpful. MJ -
How do the Mig-15 multiplayer aces beat the Sabre jocks?
mjmorrow replied to mjmorrow's topic in DCS: MiG-15bis
:smartass: Hey Chief Red Cloud! I took your advice and did just that, tonight. I climbed out and drove a two ship nuts, by sticking to a 710 kph climb. Afterward, I was lectured by one of the squad mates for being a chicken. Gee, sorry for climbing away in a plane known for a relative superior climb rate when I could be knife fighting a superlative air superiority fighter with my point defense interceptor. My thinking was this, my plane was primarily designed to shoot down recons and bombers. I didn't see any bombers or recons. The Sabre is a fighter, pure and simple. The Sabre is either going to get the upper hand in a furball or it is going to dive away and extend, one or the other. I could not take the Sabre two ship by surprise, reliably down one with my cannons, and ensure that I could climb away. The Mig doesn't have great elevator authority, so pulling out of a dive, without telling go of some or not all of my altitude advantage was a big concern. It only made sense for my Mig to attack if I was sim flying one of the Sabre Jets. Otherwise, the mission and situation didn't give me a good reason to attack. I didn't. I then realized something fundamental about the Sabre and Fagot match up and I related it to this peeved fellow. I noted that it is rather fool hearty for me to engage a Sabre two ship, fully aware of my presence, when I can opt to climb away. Were I to commit to a fight and it ended up with some manner of rolling scissors or what not, one or other of the Sabre would either get the upper hand or dive way, climb back up and while his partner was having a go at me, engage me once again. Unless I maintain a rather high speed or maintain a sizable altitude advantage, I would not be able to pull off my sustained 710 kph climb out and reliably get away, that is unless the Sabre chaps were kind enough to allow for such. I thought they would not be so kind. :megalol: To get away from a determined Sabre pilot requires the Mig to go up. To go up, in such a way that the Sabre can't follow, is sometimes easier said than done, especially during a knife fight. To pull off a climbing getaway is not nearly as easy, in a furball, as is a diving getaway. A Mig pilot is best off making a climbing get away before a furball happens, not during one. MJ -
I would love to learn from the multiplayer Mig-15 aces. How do the Mig-15 multiplayer aces beat the Sabre jocks? Please provide as many details as possible. It will help your lesser and least experienced fellow Mig pilots out greatly. Please post any tips, tricks, or tactics, you employ. Thank you for your consideration of my question and concerns. S!

Yes! The Mig-15bis is my favorite flight sim ride of any flight sim, period. I already love her. She really is splendid. Too bad I am not so splendid in handling her, yet. :hehe:  MJ

Yes! I want that joystick! MJ

There are, at least, several great servers featuring the Sabre and Fagot. I would definitely recommend getting the Mig-15bis. The Mig-15bis is a whole lot of fun. She is my favorite DCS World ride, so far. MJ

The Sabre and the Fagot are both fantastic. I have both and I love both. I am mostly a multiplayer focused guy. For me, specializing in the Mig-15bis makes more sense. There are already many players with a ton of F-86F experience and there are already F86F virtual squads. Mig pilots just got their rides and some of us have only several days of multiplayer dogfighting experience with the Mig. Some Sabre pilots have been dogfighting other Sabres for many months. I am going to get better and much more competitive, much faster, by flying against these fantastic and experienced Sabre pilots, than by picking up a Sabre and sim flying on their side. If multiplayer wasn' t my main consideration, it would be a coin toss. The Sabre is a superlative air superiority fighter, the Fagot is a fantastic point defense interceptor. I think you will have a great time with the Sabre and you can pick up the Fagot later on. MJ

How about a side view mirror? :tomato:

I absolutely love the Belsimtek Mig-15bis! Thank you very much Belsimtek team! MJ

Thank you for making the guide, Chuck. MJ

I haven't really solved the problem in a satisfactory way, yet. I want to create a Trackir profile that works great with the Mig and ensures that my virtual head does not pass into the cockpit glass. By moving my viewpoint all the way back and lowering my viewpoint, and somewhat restricting my Z Axis, (on the tracker profile) I have mitigated the tendency for the virtual head to pass through the glass, but I don't like my view of the gun sight, now. MJ

Please remove this thread. I determined a means of resolving my issue. I apologize for the inconvenience. MJ

If someone can find a way to add a mirror to the Mig-15bis, as part of a JSMGE mod or something, that would be super neat-o. :smoke:

DCS: F-14A/A+/B by Heatblur Simulations coming to DCS World!
mjmorrow replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Wow! A F-14 LNS add-on is going to be one sweet ride...actually, two sweet rides. Thanks! :) -
Ok, so, in addition to ground power, I will turn on the battery circuit breaker, then hit the engine starter, wait for 600 rpm, hit enter and hope that the rest goes as planned. I will see how it goes. Thanks for the suggestion. MJ

Cool! Our first Hungarian Mig. Thank you for making this skin! I can't wait to get a look at her, tonight. MJ
-
I noticed that in multiplayer I am unable to start the Mig-15bis. What happens is that when I press the engine starter, achieve 600 rpm, and then hit enter, to move the fuel cock 50%, the engine compressor rpm gauge needle stays where it is at 600 rpm, then the starter dies out and the engine compressor rpms fall off. In single player, the Mig starts up as per usual, with no trouble whatsoever. Does anyone know how I can fix my multiplayer issue? Thanks for your consideration. MJ

Oh, great. This is a sharp looking skin. Thanks! MJ

Oh cool! That is a great skin. Our first skin for Finland, too. Thanks! MJ

Wow! I really like your skin. That is one sweet looking North Vietnamese Air Force style Mig-15bis. MJ
