  2. Cool. Yeah, I would definitely go with one that Solty suggested, the Yak-9U. I think that would fit the late war LW planes, so it would give you a solid LW vs VVS plane match up, plus give guys like me, into more Korean War Era stuff, a chance to have a prop used in the Korean War. That would be fantastic. The Yak-9U would definitely fit the Black Sea map and there is already a really great 3D cockpit model for the Yak-9U, made by the guy behind the great cockpits used for the DCS Mig-15bis & DCS BF-109 K4. MJ
  3. How beautiful! I can't wait to have polished metal Mig-15's and Mig-21's in DCS. That Mig-21 just looks amazing. Thank you for working on this issue. MJ
  4. Ha Fri! Sorry for the confusion. I always mean clickable cockpit, but I ought to spell it out, because some persons don't mind FC3 level planes. I really appreciate and only want DCS add-ons with ASM. While I would love a Su-27SM, heck, I would love a Su-35 and a Su-50, I am confident that a dev team could not accurately model the ASM of such planes. I suspect that a team can model the older Su-27S and if that is the case, I would prefer the Su-27S, with a clickable cockpit, over a FC3 level Su-27SM, Su-35, or Su-50. MJ
  5. For fighters, I would rather a DCS team made the Korean War Era Yak-9U and La-9, as per the models made by the person behind the DCS Mig-15bis 3D model and the DCS BF-109 K4 3D model, here: http://psy06.deviantart.com/gallery/ I would definitely go for the IL-10, though. MJ
  6. I like your list. As far as jets go, I would add the Mig-17F (my dream ride) and a Mig-19. (Might be best if it is a Shenyang J-6, so it could be our first Chinese default pit DCS World ride and since I think that ride is better associated with China) I would also love the Su-27S and Mig-29. MJ P.S. I really like the I-16 and Tu-22M3 projects. I would not have thought of those rides, but I will certainly buy them. Both reflect some outside the box thinking on the part of dev teams and I like that, too. While I push certain Russian rides, my support for some rides ought not be considered opposition to other rides, rides I don't mention or focus on. Even when I hopefully get all of the Russian rides I want in DCS, by they prop planes, jets, or helicopters, I'll still support Russian plane and helicopter projects of dev teams that include rides that I don't mention, including the I-16 and Tu-22. :pilotfly:
  7. Yes! Thank you very much, Belsimtek team! I really love my DCS Mig-15bis! MJ
  8. This is a really cool project. I am looking forward to this beauty sim flying in the DCS World simulated skies. :) MJ
  9. I am all for Soviet planes in DCS World. My two favorite DCS World planes are the Mig-15bis and the Mig-21bis. The plane I want most in DCS World is the Mig-17F, after that plane, I most want the I-16, Mig-3, Yak-9U, Mig-19, Mig-23, Mig-25, Mig-29, Su-27S, Su-22, Su-24, Su-25....let's just say, I like planes with red stars. If you want Soviet planes in DCS, I am behind you all the way. Certainly, Soviet planes fit DCS World. A map for Soviet planes comes as part of the Free to Play version of DCS World. The Yak-9U and the La-9 will fit in DCS, any Soviet plane will fit in DCS World. I was simply conceding that there are non Soviet planes that would probably make more sense for the Normandy map, in particular. I also pointed out that great models are already made for a potential Korean War Era DCS Yak-9U and DCS La-9. Both rides would be awesome and would certainly fit on the Free to play DCS World map, without a need to create a Korea map or any other map. MJ
  10. Soviet WWII planes may not best fit a Normandy map and there are certainly many great non Soviet planes that will fit that map. Still, there just so happens to be some fantastic 3D models for potential DCS Korean War Era Soviet planes out there, such as for the La-9 and the Yak-9U. I would personally really love to see these rides in DCS, especially the Yak-9U. The models I am referring to were created by the same person behind making the 3D model for the DCS MIG-15bis and the DCS BF-109 K4, great models, like all his other work. See his work, here: http://psy06.deviantart.com/gallery/?catpath=/  MJ
  11. Abstract : The objectives of the Evaluation (TAC Mission FF-857) were to determine the most suitable offensive and defensive maneuvers for the F-100, F- 104, F-105 and F-4C versus MIG 15/17 type aircraft. Energy Maneuverability diagrams were used to substantiate conclusions and recommendations. Use of energy maneuverability concept for planning was limited; however, because necessary energy maneuverability diagrams were not available for the F-86H aircraft, which simulated the MIG 15/MIG 17 types. It was determined that the F-100, F-104, F-105 and F-4C should avoid co-speed, high angle of attack engagements with the MIG 15/17 type aircraft. On the offensive, a speed advantage should be maintained. On the defensive, maneuvering in an attempt to cause an over-shoot will probably be unsuccessful. Therefore, an attempt to disengage should be made by reducing the angle of attack and using max power to move out of the attacker's range, maneuvering as necessary to spoil a tracking solution until well outside gun and/or missile range. 12. It would be awesome. I would love it if Belsimtek matched the F-100 Super Sabre and the F-104 with a historical rival, so the F-100 could be matched with the Mig-17F, as per Vietnam, and the F-104 could be matched against the Mig-19, as per the 1967 Taiwan Strait Conflict. That would be incredible. MJ

    DCS: F-5E!

A very challenging and excellent rival for the Mig-21, but also an excellent complement and ally of the Mig-21, too. I think Vietnamese F5's & Mig-21's served together on the same side during the Sino-Vietnamese War. MJ
  14. We are going to have a P-40F in DCS, made by http://veaosimulations.co.uk/ Here is an early work in progress shot of the DCS P40F. (below) I am super excited about the P40F. I can't wait to download her. :) MJ
  15. I would love to see a ASM PFM DCS Su-27S made by ED and introduced with a map covering aerial operations in the Second Congo War or the Eritrean–Ethiopian War. I would be really interested in a fictional or semi-historic mercinary campaign, also. MJ
  16. A LNS Zero would be awesome. Maybe LNS will consider making the A6M5 Type 0 Model 52. I think that version of the Zero would make a really interesting adversary for the Veao P-40F and other planes, too. MJ
  17. This article (LINK BELOW) suggests that the Persian F-14 has undergone improvements over the years, including a new radar and the introduction of a new long range missile, based on the AIM-54. http://theaviationist.com/2013/09/26/farouk-missile/
  18. NP. Yeah, I thought it was cool, too. I am really glad I came across that video. I love the Mig-17F and Randy Ball went into a lot of stuff I never heard before. MJ
  19. I really enjoyed this video. Randy Ball explains a lot of neat things about the Mig-17. MJ
  20. Thank you for clearing that up for me, RofLSeal! Much appreciated. MJ
  21. Ok, well, given the serial numbers for several F-51D's that I had time to check on, I suspect that the F-51D's used in Korea were in part or whole of the P-51D-30-NA version. I don't know the particulars of the differences between that version of the Mustang when compared to the Mustang we currently have, other than it may have used the mg type found in the F-86F instead of the M2 used in our Mustang. MJ
  22. Which version of the F-51D did the US use in the Korean War? We have the F-86F and the Mig-15bis. It would be great if we had a Mustang in DCS that fit the Korean War time frame. If the Ed team is going to go through the trouble of considering introducing a better performing Mustang, it may make more sense to introduce a Korean War era F-51D and sell it as an upgrade add-on for owners of the DCS P-51D. A Korean War F-51D also opens up the introduction of a Yak-9P and other Korean War era prop planes. MJ
  23. I definitely want a Thud. It is huge, fast and just awesome. I also want it because one of my DCS dream rides is the main Vietnam War nemesis of the Thud and all the other US Vietnam rides, the Mig-17F Fresco. Sooner or later, I am sure a team or teams will make both rides. It is just a matter of when. MJ
  24. All of the skins are extremely beautiful. What a great job, all around. MJ
