  1. This may be unrelated- I was trying to get a real feel for one of my missions by creating the quintessential Baghdad night broadcast 1991- tracer fire +++ Unfortunately, "fire at point" is ground level only and so far as I know there is no way to get it going into the air without a target. I ended up having to put a drone up in the sky- invulnerable obviously... and have it circle. I got close, but no real cigar. The only reason I bring it up is that quite often when you're trying to get the sense of flak, a big part of it is the tracer. Or... did they not have that tracer technology this early on? Not being sarcastic... now that I think about it- I'm not sure they had tracers back then. Anyway- it's loosely related to the subject. Any way to add a third dimension to that "fire at point" command?
  2. Agreed. Back in the day I knew which sidewinders were being used by AF F4s versus Navy F4s... all their fin configurations and the sometimes substantial internal differences... This time, however, I was hard pressed to remember and I think she ended up just going with the version on the featured aircraft- Might be Es? The J had a much more square appearance on the tips... Now the hunt is on for the best VF84 Jolly Roger F14 photo ever taken. Other favourites include but are not limited to VF-41, VF-143 and a few others that will come to mind... She's really, really stoked about getting a Tomcat done and so am I. Her only issue is that she doesn't want any "common" photo and would really like to smash this one out of the universe.
  3. Well- things have been a bit on the quiet side for the last little bit. Sweetest is nearing completion on the F4 and I thought I would share. You may notice some subtle differences between the F4 in the photo and the one in the painting and this was to preserve the appearance of the aircraft this painting is actually being commissioned to demonstrate. Anyway, I bring to you the latest!
  4. I would like to see some a10c with the new rendering!
  5. Hmmm interesting subject. I've loved military aviation since I was about 11- thought thats what I would be. Knew I needed to get good math marks and figured English might be important too. Flunked both (too distracted by sports and girls), never got my high school diploma and chose a different route.
  6. BeaconFM ("OP Alpha FM", 42, "MarkerMiddle.ogg") BeaconFM ("OP Bravo FM", 43.2, "MarkerMiddle.ogg") BeaconFM ("OP Charlie FM", 44.3,"MarkerMiddle.ogg") BeaconFM ("FARP FM", 55.1, "MarkerMiddle.ogg") For guys who are at work who can't view... I'm wondering if these need to be independent scripts but don't have the expertise to be sure.
  7. And they REALLY complain about it when they have a couple hundred thousand miles of network cable between them and the creator. Everyone has an opinion... and they're entitled to it... but man- I see so much pepper being picked out of fly sh1t in here it's unbelievable. I'm amazed some of these folks find time to fly or why they even bother if they think it sucks so bad. And on topic (since Sith is applying the brakes) I am looking forward to seeing some WIP screens of the renderer working in tandem with the new map.
  8. There was nothing official stating that there was anything amazing- anything else said by members of the community is entirely subjective. For example, I think that was a stupid question you asked and you are entitled to disagree just as I am entitled to have that opinion. It's just my opinion, after all. And this comment was utterly useless considering it was screenshots demonstrating the RENDERER. (Opinion again- you know... subjective.) Holy frick, do we need to cover all this again.
  9. Thanks MWD2- I'll give it a shot tomorrow when I'm home.

    Eno's Firehouse

Well... I gave it a pretty good run for two years but I've lost the drive and am closing the doors. The Firehouse will be available for fly ins and the server resources will be available if needed whether it's just a stand alone server to host events or the TS3 server (TARS ready)... just IM me if you have a need for them. The server is located in Alberta, Canada and will maintain a 15 up connection. It's been extremely reliable (well- on the hardware level) throughout its 2 year run 24/7... so if you need it we'll work something out. The Hollo Pointe server, hosted by Wrecking Crew, maintains a very similar atmosphere and is very casual but enthusiastic. CREW'S HOLLO POINTE
  11. Thanks (again) st3v3. EDIT: Tested it and it works like a charm. This will come in handy when I'm wondering why certain things aren't happening... is it just because of a random value not changing? Is it changing? Is it doing nothing at all? Is it always the same? Perfect means of verification. EDIT AGAIN: Is it possible to broadcast which flag it is?
  12. Yes because the first exposure to any amd drivers is going to be after they release EDGE to us.
  13. Eh guys... If I wanted to show the value of a particular flag in the mission (for testing) I found this command in the lua basics sticky- trigger.action.outText(string text, Time delay) Would I use something like that? (replacing time delay with flag value?
  14. Fourpoints... got some specs to throw down? Done a repair? When was it this started occurring for you? Is it this version where it was introduced or are you relatively new to the mission editor?
  15. Uh. Going to need to give more info than that so how about YOU explain.
  16. I HATE cliffhangers! :music_whistling:
  17. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I really get a charge out of pulling out of the hangar with the canopy open (recently I've had to close it because its just too loud to hear ts3), just taxiing out kind of feeling the groove... Arm out the window sort of thing. I'll keep it up right about to the point where either I'm at the last turn onto the runway or I get annoyed with people telling me my canopy is up lol. Glad I'm not the only one. I was up one morning at 4am after a night shift... Sleeping pattern all wonky. I logged in and noticed that one of crews missions was still running and the time in game was 4am. The way the hours lined up with the season in game was reaaaaaaally close so as the sun was coming up around the same time. The sky outside looked the same. The morning was just delightful. And I was going in to blow some ish up!! Anyway for all my griping about some things- the stuff this sim does well, it does really, REALLY well.
  18. The current one. At least that's what I think is happening. I've since started putting waypoints closer together to assign different tasks and then realized I can task push so to be honest I don't have a living, breathing example of this behavior to deploy (I don't think). Should be easy enough to duplicate. Actually come to think of it the issue with my zsu23s not firing may be an example worth referencing.
  19. Thing is Grimes- it seems that let's say I put an "invisible" task on... the next things often don't happen because invisible is always the current task- it doesn't go to the next one. Whether it's for invisible or something else that lasts long term... it just seems that it can't get over that first action... Is that a known issue? Are we supposed to be putting these things in a particular order to avoid such conflicts?
  20. And you did the standard "resave mission in current version trick?" Sometimes it helps to save it under a different name too (ie: tanker mission a.miz / tanker mission b.miz etc.
  21. Hmmm might be a different issue. Want to post the mission maybe I could take a look under the hood. No promises but if it's just triggers and not scripts I'm pretty handy. As for new or not- I don't think it's new... not for quite a few versions. There is a task set and a task push... don't remember which is new but I think the setup is the same.
  22. Had a bunch of trouble with this myself... Please see this post about pushing tasks- http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2001172&postcount=3 If you have "ongoing" tasks set in your advanced waypoint options, that bottom task can't seem to get back to the stage... it just doesn't do anything. Try switching a condition from one to the other and it's like it can't get through the other ongoing waypoint action. Anyway, the task push / triggered actions described above in the other post will allow you to push the task- whatever it is- and you may need to set it to push weapon hold on and off with your flag conditions.
  23. Hmmmmm... actually- a TOR system near the search radar is a good idea. I can't remember though- are they able to shoot down the SU25Ts ARMs?
  24. Please, let's not go through that again. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2020701&postcount=71
