Wonder how that's going to impact stability...thanks for checking on that for us-
-
Hopefully it's because they fixed SO MANY THINGS it's taking an extra long time to upload the list onto the forums...

I noticed I have the newest beta but it lumps me in the same room as the stock 127 servers... Are people without the current update going to be able to join?
-
That kind of congestion was the cause of major fps hits back in the day- those traffic Jams would be 20 miles long. I've since made bridges invalid targets so not sure if it still hinders performance or not.
-
Hmmmm the logistics thing was fixed. It's probably not necessary- but if you reset the init (then SAVE the game with a new name) then reload the init script and save again... I've opened that miz file and had no issue with it... Might try a repair...
-
Sometimes you need to delete the init file, save the mission (resets the init file to blank), then reload it the init file (CTTS.lua) and save again... I think that's what he was talking about. I find sometimes I need to do the same with MIST

I'm not going to list off the difference in the specs- a 10 second google search will give you all the info you need but what I will say is that's a competitive and fair price for what might be one of the most versatile cards out there. If people aren't afraid to overclock this baby will keep pace with cards 4 times the price. These are the cards I recommend people snatch up if they want a low budget performance rig.

Your nickname can be anything- technically. It's good to make the name familiar (ie: your forum nickname) so that people can associate the name with your online presence within the community. And yes- PTT is a requirement in most servers using ts3

Worth a try but I ticked the sync option to resolve a similar issue with other control switches lol.
-
Eh guys... Been having this for awhile now since 127... and yes, clean input profiles on everything. I need to take my throttle off "the hump" 3-4 (sometimes up to 6) times before the action is registered in the cockpit. (Controls are set to sync with cockpit in the options menu). Sometimes this is an issue- other times it works flawlessly. I thought I was the only one having this issue so I quietly just took it over the hump half a dozen times per side but then I started hearing guys complaining about how they were getting this "aircraft start" bug... and having to switch aircraft. I then realized that they were having the same issue I was and asked them to try my solution. It worked for them too. Anyway- I'm not sure if this is a known bug or if you need a track / log for it... It doesn't happen every time- it's very intermittent and I haven't found that common denominator.

Question about Performance and Scripting for a mission?
ENO replied to Hereje's topic in Mission Editor
Completely dependent on the servers upload bandwidth. -
Yes, I agree with the above as well. This needs a wiki!

This is the photo for the next project...

If memory serves there were originally two ways to setup jtac with one being better than the other. I think the assign group with the feature built in was the preferred but its been awhile. That would make the other commands unnecessary. If you just searched for it (setup jtac) either in here or in google (add dcs mission editor) it would have left you with the answer.
-
Yeah- as blooze points out you have half the "preferred" RAM amount and I can't speak to the 5200. 8 gigs, though said is "recommended" is really the minimum for what most enthusiasts expect in terms of performance. As for GPU... laptops aren't optimized for this (though I have one also that I do some lightweight work with on DCS with an Nvidia GTX660M) with most of their GPUs... make sure that the Nvidia is actually doing the lifting and it isn't automatically shifting to the integrated graphics (if that is an option- with optimus). Anyway- running a little light on specs overall... "4 CPUs" won't help at all since the game as it exists now only uses 2. ~2.6ghz is also probably towards to basement of expected CPU processing speeds unless it boosts to over 3ghz in some turbo mode if available.

I'd still LOVE for them to acknowledge the ROVER integration idea for JTAC...
-
Sounds like the same issue I was having grimes... I'm not sure about "not staying on the roads" but perhaps that is just short form for "warming up tires formula 1 style for an entire mission" as a result of poor place keeping ability you already reported. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=120932

I have more than ample respect for Speed and his feedback but my experience with CA as a server host and mission builder has been quite a bit different. The only thing that is driving CA right now (to me and my intentions as a mission buildier) is the potential... and I know it'll get there. I don't even bother occupying a ground slot and doing battle... why would ANYONE?! AI can see you from greater distance, through trees and at nearly impossible aspects. I think everyone who has spent more than 10 minutes on CA understand that the benefit is to "command" AI to go do things and shoot each other to pieces. Unrestricted by bridges and other terrain anomalies (like buildings), the AI actually do a pretty good job hammering each other to bits. I read some of the positive feedback in here and figured I'd give it another chance and hosted a few missions that highlight ground commander role and all I got was negative feedback from the ground commanders. Go to cross a bridge- an acknowledged bug as I said before... not to rag on it- 1 AI unit gets across (the lead) and the rest get hopelessly logjammed. Distribute waypoints in such a fashion as to get each unit unstuck... the unit that made it across comes back. Actually drives over the water (through the large river near Zugdidi) and pulls an incredible jesus maneuver straight into being stuck with everyone else. GC now needs to go in and manually unstick every single vehicle. Wow- sounds like a real awesome, realistic experience. And windfield-gold... I read your post and I sort of get your intention but to dismiss our complaints about reported issues just because you've had a good experience is like me writing you off as a fan boy because you don't agree with me. Great- you've enjoyed it.. leave it at that instead of dismissing our commentary as whining fodder just for the sake of bleeding negativity on everyone since there isn't already enough of that to go around. CA has such a ridiculous amount of potential it makes these issues even more noticeable. ED is working on these things and will prevail- I get it... I know. But what am I doing with CA right NOW- which, if you'll remember was the subject of the thread? Well... JTAC.

That's good enough for me. Thanks Grimes.

Sorry for the message spam- but some more logs / DMPs / crash files from some further experimentation. crash 03.05.14.zip

Some additional info: I tried late activating (for 8 seconds after the explosion) / not uncontrolled and still had the crash. Tried this from outside views (F11) as well as just the F10- thinking perhaps it was a graphical glitch. All crashed. Took the aircraft out of the hangar completely- no crash (which was the original function I was testing.) Have I hit anything here?
-
Test mission I was using is included. I've been suspect about this problem for awhile but hadn't been able to reproduce it with ground vehicles. I set up some aircraft in a hangar uncontrolled and late activated to see if their destruction was tracked when the hangars are destroyed. As soon as the detonation was to occur, the game crashed. The following error appeared. Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: dcs.exe Application Version: 1.2.7.23097 Application Timestamp: 52dfa4c6 Fault Module Name: dcs.exe Fault Module Version: 1.2.7.23097 Fault Module Timestamp: 52dfa4c6 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00000000002c0e59 OS Version: 6.2.9200.2.0.0.768.101 Locale ID: 4105 Additional Information 1: 7312 Additional Information 2: 731278f7ffd98e1ecb477bc159b9102a Additional Information 3: 11c0 Additional Information 4: 11c0f7de6d0100c6a6ebd42e8f694594 I have had a number of crashes in the past involving visible before start / late activated vehicles but I couldn't reproduce it... I'm hopeful this captured it. crash 03.05.14.zip

Next is an Air Force f4- she has been retained to commission a painting for a member in this community. On another exciting note she was approached to do prints of the f18 for an air cadet auction so I expect a few of these may be out in circulation soon! If anyone is interested in a print or perhaps a custom one off project of your own, please pm me.

Not sure if anything relating to DCS can make your computer just reboot. Crash, yes... reboot... that would be a new one. What error are you given by windows for the crash? Also what are your system specs? I know some people have been having trouble with the latest NVIDIA driver...
