Welcome out into the light Wayne. Your pit sure has a great start and time and effort will make the rest. The wify versus building funds sounds 'very' familuar ;-) but somehow time and effort will make it work. Cheers Gus

The ladder extention button Been searching for a something look-alike or a cap usefull to mimic this 'button' but came up empty. Anyone that can help me out ? Best Gus

Slow progress (as always) on my Pit. Thought these pics would be interesting even if they not a "Home Cockpit" :-) I joined Västerås Flygmuseum a year back and now part of the team building our "new" Draken (J35-J) simulator. We got an earlier J35-C in action (together with a DC10 and a Convair Metropolitan) and the new pit will join the older to provide ability for either 'combat' or joined missions. Plan is to have new pit ready for display to the annual Roll-Out Airshow in May 26. More info will be posted in the link above including info for fligh-in etc. If you passing by you're welcome for a great day (and hopefullt great weather. If not , the simulators are operational ;-) Cheers Gus

Thanks Yes, its a Magswitch and Honeywell as far I know. Funny thing is I haven't give it a second thought until you asked. It's labled 'Microswitch Freeport Illinois USA, 5ET11' but the word 'Honeywell' is nowhere to be found ;-b

Been stuck in real life for some time but here's some progress at last Landingpanel, AHCP and the gauges on rightside. AoA and SAI remains to be interfaced. Clock is a 3" LCD. The UHF Freq display got an extra button for future use together with some extra digits. http://www.strandedduckling.com/Front_Left_Lower_side_01.jpg Pic of the Landinggear panel showing agrasyuks FlapGauge in place (Great work Anton, thx ). http://www.strandedduckling.com/LNDGPNL_5.jpg Backside... http://www.strandedduckling.com/LNDGPNL_6.jpg

Can't agree more David. Know you made a tremendues effort and put a huge amount of time into both the pit and the panelrun. It comes a time (more then once) that one just wanna get out of the mess but don't do it in a haste. Stow the stuff away for some month and leave it alone meanwhile. Planning for the Viper to be, isn't a bad idea just don't put it on a tight schedule... Sooner or later the Hog build will surface again and having both the Pit and panels around make the restart doable Cheers Gus

Congratulations to the new inmate. Impressive effort. Best use of a swimmingpool I've seen A pool of action in the swim sim awaits  Cheers Gus

Interest check: Landing Gear Panel, Flap Gauge
Duckling replied to agrasyuk's topic in Home Cockpits
Correct, Not yet. Still have some work to do on the quad so i'll adjust it next time I open it up. Guard between mag and light switch remains and also the texures over the gear lights. [ I need to adjust the LEDs resistors also, I grabbed what I had at hand so if someone react at the span of intensity note that it's due to my setup and not to the gauge itself] It's amazing how much a working gauge adds to the flavour, hehe. -

Hi Anton. A pic of your FlapGuage in my 'landingpanel'. Servo connected and interfaced to SIOC and the gauge backlight/needle now controlled by AUX INSTrument pot on the Lights Quad. You made a great work. Many thanks Cheers Gus -
Nice work on the panel. looking realy good, and also the bike. Still snowing on icy roads up here so my old bike still idling for some month ;-b (envy envy envy...)

Very interesting build Gremlin and a grand start. Nothing compared to the extra dimension of having a real cockpit to build on. Wish they wasn't so heavy though, LOL, the effort and planning needed to move'em around is huge. We got three sim live and two more under build at the local airmuseum but I really envy you having your own Cheers Gus

Hi Gremlin. Thanks I'm in for 2 of the 7-segment cards. PM Inbound soon

Nice work Linden. Good to see the lights working

I mlght be wrong but I'm pretty sure that they request a true size reference of either the total of the objects within the drawing (Width x Hight) or of one of the large pieces within it. They can scale it symetrical but lack a reference of how much Haven't checked the contence of the file but if someone that has, can state it, i'd think the cutter should be ok. (had the same issue on several panels I sent to be cut.)

Thanks Tacno. Registered, downloaded and donated ;-) Installation pending.. Best Gus

Looks great... PM inbound /Gus

Been thinking a while about the SIM state of the 'hold' position of the MagSwitches on SAS and EAC but haven't done much experimenting on them, backout plan so far is if unable to get the function automated, I could always trigger the emergency release on the stick to at least be in sync with the SIM. Since there as several conditions that needs to be fulfilled to have the hold condition activated, wonder if that state itself, per function, could be reachable somehow. i.e. if conditions per switch is status 'enabled', power to the coil will be made etc and the that would be regardless of the position of the switch. If condition is disabled, maghold release and the switch position is updated through normal procedure. (to many words here and bad grammer but I think you know what I mean :-) (have to admit I'm not (yet) using Helios but getting closer by the day, hehe) Best Gus

(Sorry for derailing the thread Anton) Thanks Gadroc. That explain why I have problems to get switch position to trigger the 'on' position even when the maglock is engaged and holds. Not everytime though at thats even stranger but I'll meditate on the quiz over the Xmas and see if I can get it to work. /Gus

Hi Agrasyuk. Your SAS qauds looks great, a real neat and compact build  Have you found a way to trigger the release of the magswitches 'hold' from within the Sim ? I read a note from Gadroc some time back that the function wasn't implemented in the 10C exports. I might missunderstood and haven't search for a solution yet. Cheers Gus

Thanks :-)

Hi Burnsy. I checked the link just breifly. As far I could readout it runs on a PAL/NTCS input and the pin-out should be working to connect as long your PC can provide a signal as such. (if others has any input there please correct :-) The size though2.5" and in a wide layout is a bit odd and very small to use as for the CDU but it is oc depending on the panel and planning. I'd recommend go by a 3.5-4 inch 4:3 display or possibly larger (even 4" is small compared with the info to be crammed into that area ;-b ) I run my CDU on a LCD very like this, removed the frame and pinned it under the CDU: http://www.ebay.com/itm/170572838758?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 and connect to it through a secondary low-cost VGA GraphicCard via a: http://thumbs2.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/m3Gde5rzhTlXuE4UKYMO3jA.jpg (Note that you need a 12V powersupply for that LCD) Using PeterPs export scripts and SoftTH for screen export and it works great. Some adjustment needed within SoftTH config but it's rather easy Cheers Gus

Thanks Rudel. I'll narrow the search and see if I can locate some size and model/type info

Hi All. Anyone seen this connector before and can give advice on where to find some extras ? Its a small round pluggable with 4pin with no shield. Searched on several sites but no success.

Hi Hans. I posted (jpeg only) the layout of the baseplate, overlay etc I used for my CDU on my site at http://strandedduckling.com/html/quad_ref.html#QUADRefCDUA10C They are spaced for a labboard with 2,54 mm pitch to provide space for all the switches. (Not a perfect work ;-) . Had'em cut out at a local company and they need some 'manual' adjustment to fit. If you like a copy in Visio or dxf format drop me a PM with your email. Cheers Gus
