Digital-To-Synchro converter for interfacing real aircraft indicators

Naaa, we got nothin to do with that.. the effect you experience comes from excessive use of sim forums... ;-) (but if you ever find a cure, please let me know. Need one badly) -
Digital-To-Synchro converter for interfacing real aircraft indicators
Duckling replied to brydling's topic in Home Cockpits
This cabling scetch might come in handy. I did this to keep track of cabling in our J-35 Draken Pit for the syncros (work ongoing). Demand was to have a modular setup so each main part can be separated. Lot of cabling in the rack so it feels a bit more safe to be able to pull the power and have each part accessible with ease if (when) troubleshooting starts :-) Cheers (and thanks Niclas) Gus might add also that it's no warranty attatched to the scetch.. theory is one thing but time will tell :-) -
They look great DM. Outstanding work to say the least Cheers Gus

Yet Another CMSP character recognition application
Duckling replied to overpro's topic in Home Cockpits
Hi Overpro. Thanks for sharing your code  Only downloaded it currently. A new Mega and Ethershield arrived together with an I2C OLED (thanks Pete for the link posted). Possibility to get the CMSC to work is dream comming true. Can anyone share a working Arduino scetch to use for the Overpros code, for a Ethershield connected Mega as example ? (or point it out to a half blind delerious fellow builder ;-) ) Cheers Gus -
No luck with with site upgrade so it will probably go yo-yo for same days more. Sorry for that. Some new pics of latest (but slowly) progress NMSP Quad http://www.strandedduckling.com/NMSP_4.jpg http://www.strandedduckling.com/NMSP.jpg http://www.strandedduckling.com/NMSP_3.jpg TISL Quad http://www.strandedduckling.com/TISL_v1_2.jpg http://www.strandedduckling.com/TISL_v1_3.jpg Found I had a DEC encoded thumbwhell instead of an expected BCD. New one is substatual more narrow than the planned, hence the black plate seen. Indicators/buttons is same (I think) as bnepethomas uses. Cheep and easy to convert to 3mm LEDs. Looked back to Thumbwheel SIOC/OC coding I did long time ago for the IFF panel and thought... why ??? Came up with this instead: (Example is for the TISL Altitude thumbwheels (should compress it further and also use a subrutine per wheel but here goes..)] SIOC Code: SIOCConfig.lua: ExportSupport.lua: Cheers and happy building. /Gus

Yupp. True note from Deadman. Haven't found any hidden code in any of my stuff but most diff from the original in some way or another. Mostly to fit alternate components and to ease the pain of building a true replica. Let's say with a tweek to fit my needs. Outer dims should be rather accurate but placement of components is best effort. For copyright issues, the possibility to win a potential dispute would be less then nill I think. If anyone by chance would find any of my humble stuff interesting for 'semi'production, possibility exists for an agreement together with more extended material but wount be for total free :-) None asked for that so far through the years though.. On the other hand if someone uses existing material for a home pit, I got no problems with that at all. Have a CNC and laser nearby but decided long ago not to go into business with this. Much more fun to do'em by hand when possible even if the outcome is less then perfect. Cheers Gus No hard feelings at all, DC. Nate state he build from R1s plans and if any issues arise from that, I can't say. Think R1 let em free to fly but regard that statement as a roumor until verified. It's a hard foggy line of between any copyright claim and "free" stuff found on the net. It's more up to a potential buyer nowadays to chouse and it's not a easy task.

True. I had to cut the LASTE part from my TM WH to enable it to fit. Width is no worries as long as the Dzuz rails not cover the 'slot'. Only way to get the TM in there lengthwise would be to either move the frame divider, front of the original LASTE to rear of it and possible compromise the structure strength. One way (if first quiz is solved), the TM Wathog bottomplate would be possible though to fix underneath the dzuzrails with extenders . TM WH would be slightly angeled compared with true laste and dzuz rail but don't think that itself would be to much problem (TM WH LASTE PCB within is separable with only the 'Horn Silence' button that needs to be interfaced separable. Extra LASTE panel needed oc)

Hi DC. Site is up currently but can't say for how long. Plan is to replace the HW tomorrow evening. Made some adjustments to it this afternoon but have a hunch the box is ready for target practise if it doesn't survive till then

Impressive work Pete. looking forward to a vid of it in full action cheers Gus

LOL. I have a habit to be a bit stranded by nature but truth now is that my local webserver will soon be pushing up the daises. Starts with no issues but shuts down after a few random hours without any indication in logs, best guess is hardware related. Started to plan/build a replacement. (contence and layout should alse need a major update :-) Sorry for the ping-pong effect. I'll hopfully have a stand-in running by next weekend. Cheers Gus

Cold temp is a hazard, 'my' handles get done when you're ready so easy going DM. Cheers Gus

Hi DM. Cold weather and numb fingers keep the builder at bay ? Know the pain of cold weather but its the opposite stats here. Used to be real ugly this time a year but we're above 0 in february and almost no snow at all. Sound we exported it westwards ;-) Go easy on it. It will (hopefully) get warmer Cheers Gus

Welcome Kaiser. A good start of a pit. (Can't agree more about hunting impact on pitbuilding;-) finally on the the end of session now so pitbuilding is really a spring and summer addiction) Keep the progress pics flow please Cheers Gus

Nice work on that stick Dropship ! PM inbound...

Thanks Kaiser78. Webserver died again it seems. Hopefully starting now. Plan is to upgrade both HW, engine and layout "soon" Cheers Gus

Hi and welcome elsener. Can't tell for how getting the current value of each exported but you can set each (group) value through clickabledata.lua Cheers Gus

Haven't seen that URL before. Thanks for sharing and editing it together. Cheers Gus

Hi Darkwolf. On the 'road' currently and reach home base first to the weekend. I'll wrap-em up and mail my latest version asap. Check also http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1948619&postcount=89 if it can be of use meanwhile A bit backdated but structure is the same hopefully. Note that within that .zip the DCS\Confic\Export folders "true" homedirectory is in my user\saved game\DCSs profile. In my saved games profile I made a symbolic link, aka a NTFS filesystem "shortcut" that point to the place indicated in the .zip. (just a workaraound to get the MOD engine easier to handle) Best Gus

http://www.everyspec.com/MS-Specs/MS2/MS25000-MS25999/MS25212C_42008/ is a start. I used it as base for most of my panels outside dims and also to get near the dzuz placement. You find link to my stuff in my sig and check also ReactorOne's build thread. y2kiah posted several good pics of panels. More around here also. Deadmans trainer documentation will be a blockbuster when made. really looking forward to that. Getting measurements to individual components within each quad can be a mess though using "low cost" switches etc, they're almost allways larger in size behind the panels then original MIL stuff. It's like a never ending 15-Piece game moving an adjusting drawings over and over again

Otherway around it seems. User profile in C:\User\'username'\Saved games\DCS\Scripts is the generic path to folder 'scripts' containing the export.lua file. (I just made sym-link in there to point to another folder to keep files together for ease of maintinance)
-
Wasn't the earlier export folder (config\export) moved to users profile from v 1.2.x ? Might be way off here and must verify my config first (away from home currently). Have a faint memory that I made a symbolic link in DCS directory to my UserProfile\saved games\DCS\.. or likewise, to connect the pieces together. If your earlier files was wiped/renamed during 1.2.7 upgrade I could send you a copy of my related files if it would help rebuild your setup ?

Hi Darkwolf. Can't help on the topic, I'm still on 2.6 and got no idea if there's been any file or structure change on 2.7, myself eager to make the jump to 2.7 though but always a bit cautious and haven't yet prepped for a rollback if things go bad. One option to go forward is to make a complete backup (file restorable and remember the files under your user profile or additional links if added earlier) of your existing install if not yet made. Then make a new fresh install of DCS/Mods/Modules and Helios (step by step) and see if you can restore the rig to basic operational again. If ok, either swap in the older config files one by in a controled manner or make a fresh install and apply the changes back from older files in batches. This probably is old news but just wanna let you know I feel your pain. Had a installation that gone havoc some time ago and took some time knit it together again.
