  1. Hi stelios. i had to stow my rig for some weeks and unable to help out currently, sorry. If any can aid, please do
  2. Hi SeaQuark Getting the Generic OC's devices work with DCS can be made but an overkill for an entry panel to DCS. Have none of their plug-n-play modules but I suspect the SIOC (Open Cockpits event driven database) is required and uses OC's generic prococol to connect SIOC and the PNP modules. SIOC in turn then use FSUIPC to connect to MS Flightsim but can be made to work with DCS with Oakes script base (search this forum) but the setup is a bit complex. There are some diffrent options to connect DCS and different hardware. You be up and running with a working panel in less time and cost following Tigers advice. If the process seems overwhelming at first, hang in there and read through some of the guides here a few times. Cheers Gus
  3. Mumma ! Gött med en fin maskinpark :-) A 'bit' envy here, though ;-)
  4. Hi Shy. Agree with aeliusg. Shit happends and sorry you got a bad ex A longshoot and probably already tested.. a firmware upgrade ? You got your WH from a dealer or private deal ? Reason for ask is that Alpha version of the TM WH (for beta team testing) had a simular problem with one of the axis on the throttle. Havent tried the fw upgrade on that though. But if yours is freesh from store you can rule that out. Replacement is a bitch but you gonna love it when it's up'n running. Best combo I ever tested besides the real devices
  5. Nice !! Wheels up = time for a beer ? :-)
  6. Stelios, if link to pancakes post doesn't answer your question, please clarify what you searching for Best Gus
  7. Hi Mac. Reason far asking was I see no holes in the PCB to fasten it to a surface. Could be added later of couse. I started to use slotted frames in rack 2-4U hight, to organize PCBs and other cards more easily and tighter (some of'em hot glued on a plexi sheet with correct size of the frame). May seems like an overkill but out it is flexible and real neat. Cheers Gus
  8. Nice work and pics DM. Thanks for posting The first (rear) little pin underneatch the handle (front of the pivot point) not yet connected .. is that used for a trigger switch/sensor or likewise ? Finally got my old ACES copy build together but needs to converted/rebuilt somewhat to fit the A-10 eject handles you made for me sometime back.
  9. Looks good Mac. Clean and operational. Couple of those will save the day. You plan to have the boards seated in a rack/slot or likewise ? Hope all well with your wife All the best Gus
  10. Just lost my socks (jumping with joy:) knowing this isn't magic but it's as close as it comes. Just amazing. Just got a mission for upcomming autumn to grasp the consept to grab the data. Thanks for posting :notworthy::notworthy:
  11. Doveman. A suggestionis is to have the main/bigger monitor wall mounted (as far of as possible) and in the normal "working hight" as in as low as possible on the regular desk and grab a ultrawide lcd (touch sensitive ?) as the instrumentpanel (with Helios) screen to place as removable in the front of the desk ? It's approx 30 cm in hight and have it approx 2/3 of if above the desk will leave space for leg underneath it. Even if the front minitor covering part of the 'flightview' it would be more of the real deal and could be glanced over as in the real pit. Building a removable monitor stand that fit the desk should be doable ? Just an idea
  12. Yada yada yada ? :-) A -A and a -C instrument panel is a total respect DM! It an absulut beauty and the topmost part of the instrument panel i've never spotted for sale ever. A master piece. A true piece of history put together. Well done !
  13. Very impressive pit, Icemaker, (Love those custommade I/F icons in windows devices 8)
  14. Great work Boltz ! Thanks. Have to find a slot to try it out Cheers Gus
  15. Mac. Check out "wonderco_buy" on ebay. Sells .28 green 7segments in 5packs. Ordered them for my fuel and altimer (height) digits. A bit to wide but will do.
  16. Freq setting can also be made to a fixed value. As long the dial and encoder has same angle per step. Sending a prespecified value by choice when the dial is set to known position whould sync the sim to the panel. From then on it's back to the inc/dec again. The problem is to limit the movement of the rotary/dial to not pass the limits. A pin through the dial (through a cutout in the dial) might be the easiest way. Hans, same approach for the tacan. Long time since I digged into my Tacan panel. Away from home now and can check it up on monday. As long the position can be tracked corresponding value can be send through clickabledata (edit: I think the freq rotaries in the tacan are either binary or octocal anc connected to the geartrain, should be possible to extract and use)
  17. Looking good Mac. VHFs analog dials sure looks sweeter than 7segments. You got rotaries or encoders for the freq settings ? When you say nightmare to correlate the position with ingame settings i guess you use encoders. Creating (somehow) physical stops on the dials start/end positions might be a way with encoders. Would need an additional code sequence to set sim same as on the panel (say you set a predetermid freq on the dials and then use a 'button' to write same to the sim, would be ok as long as a encoder step is not missed by the sim after that) Cheers Gus
  18. http://en.kb-tk.ru/production/fly-motion.html#more Looks like same design but differs some from first post Sells for +25000 Euro :-) Guess they can have some financial space for a TM WH
  19. Ooops. sorry for that, checking up on that one tomorrow.. Used Eagle CAD free version for the 7-segment displays on UHF and VHFs, most for fun to see how the process is. Cheers Gus
  20. :notworthy: It works great now on 1.2.7. Thanks Pete and Crivi. Rep inbound and well deservered The poor Arduino waiting have no idea what's comming :) Cheers Gus
  21. Aha. Guess I am. Thanks Peter
  22. Hi Crivi and all Probably do this all wrong but can't get it working ;-). Any ideas wellcome Got a fair hunch I miss something obvious (as wify keeps telling me) First step is to see the data inside the DCSExtractGui Haven't compiled the code, just downloaded the .zip and extracted files into a subdirectory. DCSexport64.dll and DCSExtractGui.exe are in same directory including rest of structure intact. Starting DCSExtractGui prior DCS shows "Game not detected". Then starting DCS and wait.. Same status and blank datafield in the DCSExtractGui. Starting DCS and enter a flight and then start DCSExtractGui does not show the "Game not detected" but on the otherhand nothing says "Game detected" or likewise. Data fields still blank. Waited for a 'long' time. Made same attempt with Bnepethomas codeset with same results so the err seems to be on my side as usuall. W7_64, All running on same PC Tested with and without Windows firewall activated DCS v1.2.6 Cheers Gus
  23. Cabling could be a hazard and nowadays I have limited amount of hair to pull :-) I use 40 pins IDCs same as Brydlings card (opencockpits in my case) and crimp cables as needed. Several ports connects many 'break-out' cards with total length up to 1.5 meter per cable. So far I haven't seen any odd interference but time will tell as it grows. Had a bit of worry of how the MagSwitches would affect on coil release but so far it's ok. If I get interferance I probably will isolate the source/distribution system of that instead of rest of the system (in theory) Crimping the contacts IS very delicate as DC says. To hard and the lowcost parts I got brakes and too gentle it's risk of bad contact. With the rough tools I got say 10% breakes when crimping. On the other hand the cost is minimal and cables are made fast. Got lucky and found a huge amount of ribbon cables some years ago (5 x 90 yards spools) for allmost nothing. Pic shows current state of underneath rightside panel.Looks like a ratnest but allows to utilize each portgroup the most
  24. thanks
  25. Hi DM. Looks great. PM inbound
